This video couldn’t have come at a better time, as I’m making rehersal luncheon invitations for my daughter and the foil method from Cricuit doesn’t work well with the fonts she picked out. Hi I feel stupid asking, but If I dont have the foil you used, can I use the Minc foil for the same thing? I want to put a sentiment in the mothers day card, I have Eco foil and minc. they are both heat activated. thank you
@@samanthaton8099 you never want to use an ironing board for any sort of htv or foil application. They have too much spring and padding. A home iron is not recommended for foil due to the even heat and pressure required for a quality application

@@samanthaton8099 it’s a heat press that’s really it. The easy press can work but you again run into the same problem with even heat and pressure as it is just a big iron. There are some things that just require proper equipment and foil is one of those things

I don’t think it will work because when you press to acrylic there is nothing for the htv adhesive to soak into so it’s just going to spread outwards causing your lines to get thick and no longer defined

I don't think it will work with a laminator it needs that heat and pressure the laminator can't do. but if you have a laser printer you can do this with a laminator
I don’t know other than the htv foil doesn’t maybe come in the color you want. I don’t personally use htv foil since mostly it’s a cricut brand product and I don’t use their vinyl and htv

He Cricut foil is not adhesive. It’s pressure sensitive. It will not work in the same way that this does. They do have a foil vinyl but it’s a nightmare to work with in my opinion

@@CorinneBlackstone I tried to make an invitation with the transfer foil kit and it took 45 minutes to cut and it ripped my vellum but now I have all this Cricut foil and was going to try it your way but was wondering if I could use the same foil instead of Buying new foil? Or could I just use heat transfer vinyl and skip the adhesive part? I spent 7 hours last night trying to make one invitation and ready to throw in the towel and just order them! So frustrating and disheartening
@@daniellemitchell2161 honestly I don’t even recommend making invitations on cricut it’s time consuming and expensive the cricut foil will not work with this product. You could use a metal htv but weeding is going to be a nightmare
They turn out so nice but to make 100-150 of those would probably take me 2 months! is there another way that is less time consuming without a laser printer? I need to make place cards & thought of using this method but It would take way too long :-(
This is a great idea if you have this material and make a project like that every once in a while. For faster and more crisp results, you can use a laser printer, print your design, use toner foil, and press in your heat press. You get the most dainty thin lines foiled, no 'spreading-out' glue. If you don't have a laser printer, you can have a copy shop print it for you. Different toners work differently. (My HP color deskjet black toner doesn't foil well, but my Brother's toner does.)

You don’t do this with the foiling tool. You may want to watch the video to see how this is done before you tell the friend you can’t do it. This video came out before that tool even existed

No. You have to have the adhesive for this foil to work and you could potentially use a laminator but again you need to have the adhesive present

Yes the foil since it’s heat activated should work just fine

I’ve done it with a couple different types and haven’t had issues but I would always do a test pressing to be sure

So pretty! But pretty labor intensive to weed the small font of each one if you want to make a large batch.
Oh for sure it takes a lot of work. I don’t think I would do this for huge amounts of stuff. For that I would do the laser printer and foil

Honestly not really. There are companies that do this and it would be less time consuming but probably fairly pricey.
