    You should go to joe pool lake, Benbrook lake, Granbury lake, possum kingdom, lake fork, and lake o' the pines. You'll like possum kingdom if you like catching white bass, hybrids, and striper. Plus nobody fishes for crappie there so the crappie fishing is good out there. All need to do is vertical jig a spoon from the bottom and you'll catch some big whites in 30-45ft of water.

      I do/have fished all those lakes, just haven’t filmed there lately. Possum Kingdom showed signs of golden algae this year with a fish kill. Not wasting my time there. I can go 40 min SW to Hubbard Creek in Breckenridge am fishing is better. That will also affect Whitney. And Granbury. I’d like to hit up Benbrook, but Joe Pool has periodic pollution warnings. And Fork...well got everyone swinging off Forks nuts, so been trying to prove I can catch those Fork size fish off all the other lakes. Been doing pretty good too. Love lake o the pines! Also Palestine, Sam Rayburn, Bob Sandlin, and Toledo Bend.

    My brother and fished Twok Saturday morning and Lavon that evening. I think I saw you near clearlake. It was a slow day. We finished with 30 with a few good ones mixed in.

      I know guys that are catching big ones on Lavon, but I haven’t found the big ones yet, if I want to limit, I know exactly where to go on Lavon, but the largest fish I’ve caught out of that spot is about 12”. But I can catch all the 10 to 12s I want. I’ll start scouting this week and find some deeper water and bigger fish over there.

      We caught 10 that were 14-15"... some good 1.5 to 1.75lbs. I will give you a shout next time I see you.

    You're getting to the right area on Lavon. The west arm is too shallow for crappies in summer.

    • @BarFlyFishingTexas
      @BarFlyFishingTexas  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I need to throw my side scan on and just cruise around scanning bottom. I’ve been fishing when I can see it and then scanning around exposed timber. It’s been working though

      @@BarFlyFishingTexas Cmap Genesis has the topo map for Lowrance. That pretty much covers the best areas on Lavon.

    Any advice on bank fishing lavon for crappie? Really looking forward to taking my 5 yo fishing this spring. Haven’t had any luck at ray Hubbard, don’t want him to get bored already.

    • @BarFlyFishingTexas
      @BarFlyFishingTexas  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really. They can be anywhere in the spring. Try rock rip-raps by any bridges

    I’m going to fish Lake Lavon tomorrow and launch my kayak out of Mallard Park. Will the crappie and sand bass be in shallow? Thank you.

    What kind of little minnow bucket is that you use? Sounds like it’s got a little air pump and everything on it. Just curious.

    There's a spot on lavon called glasshouse. Holds some good sized crappie and whitebass

    • @BarFlyFishingTexas
      @BarFlyFishingTexas  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alvaro Castillo, I have a friend that guides Lavon. He always mentions a glass house but I don’t know where it is and I never asked because it was his business. I need to figure out where that is… I’m sure it won’t be hard. Thanks for the advice!

    Exactly which trees do I look for while fishing for crappie on Lake Lavon ?

    • @BarFlyFishingTexas
      @BarFlyFishingTexas  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Trees in the right depth for seasons and water temp. Shallower when water temp is 70 or below deeper above 70. They literally can be anywhere in the lake

    Always enjoy your videos sir. Which Garmin unit are you using, and do you like it or would you go to a bigger screen? Also what transducer pole are you using? Nice work on figuring them out👍

    • @BarFlyFishingTexas
      @BarFlyFishingTexas  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Garmin Echomaps 93sv. The screen is larger than it looks like on the video. It’s perfect for what I’m doing, besides freaking expensive. I don’t know what the 12 inch screen cost but I guarantee you it’s a lot more 😬
