I just started using RMS. A little late to the game, but I agree it’s lip products. I love them all but Mickey is my favorite because it dos feel more moisturizing. I have several, they all feel good and don’t seem to dry my lips at all.

I'm glad that these work for you. I was disappointed in how these wore, and the textural and formula difference between the two I had. I also didn't like that Ruby Moon dried my lips out.

Thanks for the review. I don't have any RMS products yet. But if there was something really unique I might consider it. The powder blushes are interesting to me but I haven't bought anything yet. I thought the lipsticks kind of reminded me of the EM cosmetics ones, which I love. But the EM cosmetics ones are super comfy. Appreciate all your videos!

The textures of the RMS lipsticks are unlike any other in my collection. They don't remind me of anything else I've tried. The fact that they feel cool/wet on the lips is so different. I've been wearing them for about a week now, and they're just ok. I don't feel that they merit the $35 price point. I expect so much more if the price is $1 shy of a Lisa Eldridge lipstick.
I feel like the powders are special, and something I'd be willing to purchase more of. I wouldn't buy another one of these lipsticks no matter how much I liked the color. There are more elegant formulas out there. Especially at this price point. 😔

I'm in love with the powder products. They're stunning. I love the new shade of blush, and I can't stop reaching for the highlight.
I've been using all these products for a week, and the lipsticks aren't impressing me. I LOVE the color of Ruby Moon, but it's not as comfortable as I'd expect a $35 lipstick to be. (Lisa Eldridge lipsticks are $36) Ruby Moon also dried my lips out after a full day of wearing it, and my lips were still stained by the next morning despite using a balm/oil cleanser. I liked the feel of Mickey, but after a few hours it started to settle into my lip lines and emphasised the texture. Since is was creamier than Ruby Moon, it also trailed outside my lip lines a bit. I don't think these lipsticks merit the $35 price point, and I wouldn't purchase another one no matter how much I liked the shade. I also don't like the packaging. The cap is hard to put on and take off, and I really dislike how the slim line packaging around the bullet of the lipstick turns when you click up the product. That's a small thing, but it's annoying.
Over all, there's much better lipstick formulas out there at this price point. I won't be recommending these in a future video. They're quite the disappointment. Keep in mind that I'm a lipstick snob. I'm very picky about a lipstick and it's formulation/color range/packaging. I want perfection!

I love the blushes! They released a shade on QVC in a kit (that is now sold out), and I’m waiting for them to release it as a single. Thanks for reviewing the lip products! I was tempted, but definitely wanted to see reviews before spending $35 blindly. I’d probably rather get a LE lipstick or something else, tbh. I appreciate the thoroughness of the reviews!

We all like different types of formulas. I want something that is hydrating, comfortable, and wears off evenly without leaving a harsh line around the edge of my lip. I also want something that reapplies over the top of itself easily, while not catching on any dry spots or bleeding outside of my vermillion border. Not much, just utter perfection.
My favorite formulas are from Lisa Eldridge, Merit, Gucci and YSL at the moment. Lisa's lipsticks are only $1 more than the RMS ones. Merit lipsticks are $26, and the Gucci and YSL ones are $45. ($10 more than the RMS) I feel like there's a huge jump in formulation between RMS and Lisa Eldridge. The RMS ones are fussy compared to the ones from Merit. (and the ones from Merit are less expensive)
The only Merit shade that I don't recommend is L'Avenue. The color is stunning, it's comfortable on the lips, and is hydrating. The problem is that it settles into the lip lines, and makes my lips look more textured. I don't have that problem with any other color from Merit, but L'Avenue needs its hand held a little bit. If you like that berry shade, I'd recommend Night Thoughts from Lisa Eldridge. It's still a balmy, comfortable sheer berry shade that just makes my lips look incredible.
I have 5 shades from Merit, and would happily purchase more. I have nearly 40 from Lisa Eldridge, and I love them all. I have one of each Gucci formula, and the Voile and Satin formulas are my favorite.
I also love YSL lipsticks. The Bold formula is amazing, and I'm a huge sucker for the Rouge Volupte Shine lipsticks. They're balmy, comfortable, and glossy. I love them so much!
I hope that helps. I'm always willing to do a deep dive on lipstick formulas. Just keep in mind that I have a type. Make sure we have similar requirements from our lip products before plunking down your money on any lipstick/lip product I recommend. I'd hate for you to be disappointed.

I’ve been wearing these lipsticks for about a week, and for the $35 price point I’m not impressed. When the lipstick claims all that these lipsticks claim, I’m expecting a lot. When it’s only a dollar less than a Lisa Eldridge lipstick, I’m really expecting a lot. I love the color in ruby moon, and it looks stunning on. It just doesn’t feel comfortable on the lips. The shade, Mickey feels comfortable on the lips, but after a few hours of where settles into my lip lines and emphasizes the texture of my lips. I don’t have any other lipsticks at this high-end/nearly luxury price point that do that. Settling into my lip lines is some thing I expect from a lower quality formulation. The older I get, and the more texture I have all around my face (including my lips) I’m really looking for that mythical unicorn of a product. I feel like the powders are gorgeous and don’t emphasize the texture at all, but these lipsticks aren’t good enough for me to want to buy anymore. They’re also not some thing I’d recommend.

I really like the Eyelights. I have 3 shades, and I enjoy reaching for them on a day when I want to look pulled together, but I don't have time for something involved. I really like the highlight. It's so pretty.
I'm not sure about the lipsticks. I've been trying them for the past week and they're both so different. I don't find them to be moisturizing on my lips, and the texture is different between the two shades I have. I feel like Mickey is creamier, and wears off like a cream formula lipstick, while Ruby Moon feels more like a matte formula and wears like a longwearing matte formula. Ruby Moon wears well all day, but it makes my lips feel drier. Mickey doesn't last all day, but feels better on my lips. As the day goes on, Mickey does settle into the lip lines and emphasizes the look of dryness. I'm not in love with this formula, and I feel like it's not worth the $35 price. I'm disappointed.

    • @thelipstickgal
      @thelipstickgal  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Well, I'm still wearing them. They're not my favorite, especially for the $35 price point.
Here's what I've learned. The shade Mickey (rusty brown) is more comfortable than Ruby Moon (warm red) on the lips. Mickey tends to have more of a visible shine on the lips for about 2 hours, then the pigment starts to settle into my vertical lip lines and emphasize the texture on my lips. Out of the 2, Mickey is more hydrating. After 2 hours I need to keep an eye on it because it tends to stray out of the vermillion border. (the edge of my lip) Mickey is on the hydrating side, but it's not the most hydrating, serum like lip products I own.
Ruby Moon is a divine color, and doesn't settle into my vertical lip lines or stray outside of my vermillion border, but it's also not hydrating. By days end when I take it off, I have some lip flaking going on. I can't wear this color 2 days in a row or it kills my lips. I tend to put it on full force in the morning, and switch it out for a more hydrating formula after lunch. A full day of wear is hard on my lips.
The claim of hydration really isn't working for me, and only one of the 2 shades I have is an actual stain. (both are claims by RMS) Mickey doesn't leave a stain behind on my lips at all. I don't have another formula that feels like the RMS Legendary Serum Lipsticks, so I can't suggest an alternative. I will say that I'm not willing to purchase any more. The formula isn't worth the $35 in my opinion. I hope that helps.

Mmmm, "clean" beauty is pretty much a crock, unless you are allergic to a particular common ingredient like talc. Also, I don't like products without preservatives or fear-mongering! (I am a science geek.)
I hate to mention it at this point after you have enjoyed the products, but the person who developed this brand seems to be deeply problematic, and she is still the primary product developer. (Rose Marie Swift).

I don't know anything about Rose Mary. I'll look into her. Thanks for the heads up.
I've been wearing products from this brand for over a decade and a half. I don't buy things because they're clean beauty, but from a sense of curiosity about the product itself. I feel like the powders are lovely, but the lipsticks don't perform at the $35 price point. They're not as elegant as described, and after a week of wear, in not impressed. If rather spend $1 more and get a Lisa Eldridge lipstick. 😥
