Originally back in 2006 when this was done the audio was intact and you could hear as well as see the powerpoint presentation in full. Then the copyright police came in and just obliterated it. The interview is still awesome but without the music it doesn't drive home the points of what they are talking about. For example 42 minutes in the multi-track breakdown of Think Twice would have made sense to hear that as they brought in each instrument track by track. These legends deserved more than to be cut and spliced like this.
I came to this comment section to say the very same thing. The Mizell brothers DESERVE FAR MORE than this cut and slice video. A travesty really. It's 2024 and with the current state of music, fans like me seeking to study and expand my knowledge of their work, deserve better too. TH-cam should be filled with documentaries, footage and interviews of the Mizell Brothers. I wish they were discussed more often. They're worthy of our praises and appreciation as they absolutely hold a place in the Top 3/5/10/20 favorite Producers of all time conversations! Bubble wrap Larry and Rod. Great to hear about Chuck Davis taking his electronic mixers right into the Studio. And Welton Gite was also a Bass Player as well as Chuck Rainey. Working so well with the Engineer to get the High Hat on one Mic. Its Great now SACD's of their work are out from that UK maker in Watford. Vocalion. 4 Channel we can hear the Arp on one rear speaker. 2 Donald Byrd "Street Lady" and "Blackbyrd" both on SACD now from Original Qudraphonic Tapes. How Great Wah Wah Watson would face younger John Rowin both on Guitars.
Amazing footage from some of soul music’s best composers ever but damn why did they edit out the music!!?? I know I own every Mizell influenced album and can pull em up but still!! I need that Marvin Gaye tho! Wondering if it was Marvin’s cut of Where Are We Going?
