I watch you every single day. You give a sense of stability to my world and it really helps. I'm telling you, Jocelyn, you are one of the very nicest people I have ever encountered and I often think "I want to be more like that" - honest and generous, thoughtful and open hearted. You're just a treasure. See you tomorrow !

The little brown ceramic house at 2:43 might be for cone incense. The smoke would come up. I like the balsam smell.

Prince Albert introduced Christmas trees to England and suspended them from the ceilings in Windsor castle. However, the tradition dates back to 7th century Germany. .

Hanging trees upside-down in the home, especially fir trees, harkens back to the Middle Ages when Europeans employed the act in order to represent the Holy Trinity. The first to do this was Saint Boniface, a Benedictine monk, who used the inverted trees as a theological teaching tool for pagan Germans.

So many comments, maybe someone else already mentioned this but I was curious about the xmas tree hanging from the ceiling and found this...."But it was southern Poland where the trend really thrived. In a tradition called podłazniczek, Polish people used "fruit, nuts, sweets wrapped in shiny paper, straw, ribbons, gold-painted pine cones" to decorate a spruce hanging upside down from the ceiling in the center of the room, according to The Spruce.Dec 11, 2019" AND "First, they allow more ornaments to be seen at eye level than on a traditional tree. They're also a space-saver: For shops or hotels worried about floor space, hanging the tree high enough means they won't be taking up unnecessary room.Dec 3, 2020"

I've hung my Christmas trees from the ceiling for 20 years or more! My kids call it my "upside down" tree. I've evolved into creating life like trunks and my tree looks like its actually growing through the ceiling. Saves a ton of floor space, animals and toddlers can't tip it over either. I've done beachy sea shell themed trees, pink flamingos, white birch with natural woodsy decor...My fav was the year I hid realistic fairy like wood elves in the highest branches peering down. My children loved walking under it to see them.

I know that people went crazy trying to find ceiling hung Christmas trees in the 90's after they were used commercially by some department stores. Omg I remember those coin holders. If I remember correctly I think they had bunnies or ducks at Easter.
And of course the books for Quarters, or dime, or nickles.
It was to help encourage children to save money and then deposit into a savings account and fill more books up. The banks gave them out to children to help them learn how to count money, save money.

Prince Albert brought trees from Germany to celebrate Christmas with his family. These were hung right-side up over tables of gifts. Upside-down, hanging trees are nothing but a retail ploy for the merchandise to be noticed, even though I have seen them used in the home. Customers can overlook an ornament buried in the branches, but not if it's dangling in their faces. (It's Christmas time, so keep your minds out of the gutter.)

When I worked at a decor shop, we always hung the holiday trees from the ceiling, upside down. It's the best way to show off ornaments, and always drew in lots of shoppers. It' keeps the mess off the floor, it can't tip over, and with an artificial tree, you don't worry about problems that a live one has.

She also said that when they lit the candles on the tree, she and her siblings had to stand and watch them, in case the tree caught fire.
