I'm a simple man, if I see a Conover video I click. I like these videos! The exposed brick reminds me of the old apartment actually. :D as someone who has been following the vlog, if you still remember me lol, I think you're going to love the one with the view in the long run because you are a sentimental man, Erik and there will be days when you're going to want to unwind and just look for that inspiration to write, vlog or gather your thoughts and that view will definitely help you.

Erik Conover 2000 to 3000 where in Queens? The apt in the EV you showed is about 2600 ..I live here grew up here I know the prices all over the city. What I hate about your vblog is you are leading naive ppl on. NYC is dying fast, it's full of transitioning ppl and bars. Super sick pricy everything. Most leave within two years. Also you constantly moving drives up prices ..can you move back to Ohio? Oh yea you will as soon as you marry have 1.2 kuds an but a house in the burbs. Meanwhile NYers are stuck with the high rents transitioning ppl cause.

No offense, but this isn’t HELPFUL unless you’re telling people what’s worth this and that. People don’t want to get ripped off so by sharing your experience while including prices, fees etc, then you’re actually helping. You say it’s “too personal” but ... you chose to expose yourself on TH-cam and showing people your journey which is great but don’t give us half ass info. And FYI, for anyone reading this essay lol you can find HUGE apartments for half the price of a shoe box in manhattan in the boroughs, which is just a train ride or uber away from Manhattan. Bronx and Queens are changing and proving people with a better more affordable lifestyle.. do your research!!!

go for the view. you won't be able to use the terrace for like 3 or 4 months a year and you might not have much privacy out there. when you leave your place for the day that's when you go outside. home is about privacy and a nice vantage on the outside ... not being IN the bustle of outside.

OPT FOR THE VIEW over the outdoor space. You'll get to use the outdoor space some times, and mostly seasonally, but not as often as you'll be able to enjoy the view year round, from the comfort of your interior space, regardless of weather conditions.

tip: move to Brooklyn or Queens, and live with roommates. Now instead of spending 2500/mo for a 400 sqft studio in Manhattan, you can pay 2500/mo (your share would be 625/mo or 833/mo) for 3 or 4 bedroom 1800 sqft apartment and just commute if you work in Manhattan.

I lived in West Village and Park Slope when I lived in NYC. My Park Slope apartment had an outdoor terrace. It was AMAZING! So many parties out on the terrace. I put up strings of lights, had seating and a BBQ grill. It was the place for amazing parties. So if you like to entertain, I would go with the terrace. Otherwise I would still take the Chelsea apartment but with the view. How fun to have a new place! (I lived in NYC for 3 years and 3 months and had three apartments!)

The terrace one seems the most beneficial for you - so much space for filming! You've had a great view at the current place, now get the outdoor space.

#2, #3, were my favs. #6 was cool for the terrace. You deserve something nice and open. Please go with one of them with the open floor plan. Definitely not #4. Can't wait to see which one you choose!

Tough call but I love the private terrace. If you think you'd use the terrace a lot go that way, but if you need the relaxing views to unwind go for the views.

ok random question that is way premature (i'm literally 14)...but is LA or NYC the best for film/youtube? I've been attached to being a filmmaker since i was six and now that I'm older and finally started a channel, I'm really interested in moving somewhere with more opportunity (when I'm older). anyone have any experience?

lexamazing You seem really passionate about filmography, so I am I. I am 18 now, going to college so I am studying a lot and not filming much which is my passion.. I was thinking about that as well. I feel like LA gives you more options for collabs and such, but NY is more unique I guess.. Really depends on a person... Where do you think you would feel better?

LA has become dull, every content creator (Vlogging etc.) has become centralized in that area. NYC is definately something different, but you would need to focus on a place thats got a bit of everything.

Depends on what kind of film work you want to do. I feel as if you could really be anywhere for TH-cam. The traditional film industry is strong in both places. It is much bigger in LA, but there’s still a bunch of great films & TV shot in NY. Also worth considering Atlanta, New Orleans or Chicago. Those are all smaller markets, but sometimes it can be easier to start a career in a smaller market first. 😉 but you’ve got lots of time to figure out what’s best for you.

Bonus. Didn't see much of the apartment itself but how nice would it be to have your own personal outdoor space? Just to step outside anytime you feel like it without leaving home, have your morning coffee, entertain? It will be an extension of the apartment in the good weather months.
