This is true. I made the goth family tree. So I have Victor (Mortimer's grandfather) and his brother Simon. Simon had a baby with his wife Olivia and I called her Andrea. Andrea can actually marry Alexander LOL!

When I did my 100 baby challenge, I stopped aging for everyone except the active household bc I was attached to my kids and didn’t want to see them die before my matriarch. Let me tell you, the sims like their inbreeding. My family tree ended up looking like an etch n sketch. I finally had to let them go bc it was getting out of hand 😄
I was actually inbreeding my Legacy Challenge family for a few generations on purpose and my Sims began to flirt with their relatives on their own 🤣 They began to WANT to practice inbreeding 🤣
I noticed that the game only registers about 20 siblings because WW gave me an attractiveness alert for the active sim's eldest sister. It was awkward, I immediately set his standards to exclude her haha

I had my not so berry sim woohoo with father winter and when the baby came out very much not looking like the father i was hoping there would AT LEAST be an angry/sad moodlet like "Where'd they get those?" with a description like "Sim X is starting to notice some traits in Sim Y that don't ring any familial bells and begins to wonder if the baby is really theirs after all...". heaven forbid they let this iteration of the franchise include scandalous things like that 🙄
Yikes. I'm sure they thought this wouldn't actually happen in game, but I guess they forgot you can age Sims up early. Also, it would be way too easy to do this with a vampire.
My Legacy Challenge family is a vampire family and it's a very inbred family , from generation 8 you can pick any Sim and go back by any branch of his ancestors and you will reach the same Sim in every single one of those branches 🤣

True. Any degree of cousins passing 1st cousins (even 1st cousins once removed) the game doesn't see as relative (same to grandparents' siblings). My Legacy Challenge is such an inbred family that it took 15 or 16 generations to actually count as 10 😅
I got a mod that recognizes anyone within a gene pool as "family" in the sentiments menu. It doesn't give the official relationship but if sims are even remotely related, it will be recognized. Makes life a whole lot more easier once you start massive legacies.

The genealogy and family relationships in the sims is so weird. Like the fact that Actual Mistake would have more than likely been able to have a kid with Mortimer because he would be registered as a step parent. And in the sims, you can have relationships with step parents and siblings, along with any siblings that are adopted.
Well.. About step stuff, it's logical tho. Since it's not 100% bloodrelated, they can have relationship. And that makes things spicy tho. Imagine the love story of the big brother with his step/adopted little sister. It's actually normal and fine. But yeah kinda wrong because they're in one same family. BUT logically, it's still fine.

So, it kinda messy, but if you want to know, here's how: I have a sim, named Melanie, who has 3 daughters: Aurora-Amelia, Darya and Lili. Lili has a son Alexander, who married Darya's adopted daughter Arina (she was not considered as Darya's daughter in family tree, but the story it is). So, Alexander and Arina were not cousins by bloodline, but were by law. The had daughter Svetlana, who married a man named Tristan. Tristan was Aurora-Amelia's grandchild, and, thus, a second cousin to his wife Svetlana. So, tecnically, Tristan and Svetlana's daughter Vilena is a relative to all of the 3 sisters. Also it's kinda interesting, but both Arina and Alexander and Svetlana and Tristan agreeded to marry only from the second try, even if their relationships were maxed. I think the game wanted to tell me: don't do this, they are related, think a second time XD.
My sims are very inbred. Second cousins marry generation after generation. I had one couple get married that had the same last name before marriage, and had all eight of the same great-grandparents. Three generation later, their great grandchildren get married. If you want, you could play the offspring of eight starter sims perpetually.

Not the result I expected, wow Sims Team, that's quite a mess. At first I thought maybe they didn't expect a great-grandparent to still be alive, but it did recognise Bella and still allowed it. Also, sims ages are adjustable in game settings, so that's not an excuse either.
The fact sims can get married then become partners with any adult step children right afterwards is so funny, my current household has my sim married to Thorne but having a baby with orange 😂 it’s gonna mess the tree up for sure, gonna make my sim and Thorne vampires too to mess it up even further
Just for future videos you do know if u go into create a sim and click on the 3 little dots below were you can select a sims gender there is a drop down list of stuff like female or male clothing preferences and then there is a box we’re you can select this sim can get others or can become pregnant and it is very useful for lGBTQ couples so Yh but I do love your videos tho always funny
yeah i did this for a household of mine. i made a MtF trans and used masculine body but edited to look as if they might have been taking hormones. anyway, moral of the story is, my MtF hasn't fully transitioned as of yet. ( i like to go in CAS and take away money and do like a "plastic surgery" sequence so eventually ill remove the ability to get others pregnant THEN maybe make them have babies but I haven't decided yet.) Except if Actual Mistake has a child with Mortimer that child would be half sibling with Alexander. However I think it would work if Actual Mistake had a child with Darrel, and then that child had a child with Alexander.
Ive been playing rotationally for the first time in my life and i have so many different households now that i just forget who is related to who and i just built an entire story with two of the kids and i was gonna make them get married and everything but i realized they were cousins when there was no flirting options as teens 😐 the boys dad is the half brother of the girls dad who also happens to be the boys moms cousin, and the girls other dad is the boys moms uncle, so really they’re cousins and second cousins at the same time

it's interesting, in the sims 3 the game stops recognizing great-great-grandparents as family members but you cannot flirt with them, the romance wheel option is not listed! sad to see how the sims 4 fails to do this
@@OnlyHopeRemainsTTV No, Sims 1. I always wanted to see the limits of the game. Sims 1 wouldn't let immediate family members be romantic. I kept creating new generations and trying the new member to romance the original ancestor. Mother, grandmother, etc. None could do it until the great-grandson could finally do it. I could do it without cheating because Sims 1, each house was its own world. No aging whatsoever outside the lot.
I have a vampire family that's like 15 generations old now. Eventually the tree becomes so vast that inbreesing will happen because my furst character is still alive and kicking at 587 days old and most people in the town are family. I only found out after I had a child with someone that it was actually my great great great great great (several more greats) grandchild
I did that with one of my old saves in my game,but it was by accident. I felt bad afterwards. I didn’t know they were related. But it’s like I feel like I should’ve assumed because of how many generations I had going in that save.

There’s a way to “keep it in the family” indefinitely using vampires. My founder Eve could form a relationship with many of her descendants if she wanted too. After 5 or 6 generations she’s now considered an “ancestor”. The game apparently doesn’t care that my founder could marry her latest heir and reproduce with him. 100+ year age difference by now 😂
I did a challenge, so I made a household with a couple of Young adult Sims two married one girl young adult 3 boys young adult Make one of the boy adults married to the young girl adult put one teen In make them the daughter of the married couple make the girl siblings with the two other boys that aren’t married make one Elderly sim Make them the mum of the 3 children, so the Girl and the other boys that aren’t married then make A toddler Make the toddler the daughter of the Married couple and try and age of the toddler Without getting taken away, I’m managed to survive

Welp since the neighboirhood stories mod two of my sims kids have called their mum asking if they should go on a date with their half-brothers. This is my 100 baby challenge save tho which is truly a hot mess.
Love the disclaimer about them being pixels because good god, not to sound all "ugh kids these days!!!" But from what I've seen, the newer generation has a serious issue with being able to tell fiction from reality and applying real life morals to fiction.
One time I had cousins gets together. The option popped up n I was like, "Surely...n o....mother of god..." I think it may have been a glitch, but still

It’s always bugged me that the husband or wife of a sim can have a baby with someone else and their spouse never shows any acknowledgment

Ive been playing rotationally for the first time in my life and i have so many different households now that i just forget who is related to who and i just built an entire story with two of the kids and i was gonna make them get married and everything but i realized they were cousins when there was no flirting options as teens 😐 the boys dad is the half brother of the girls dad who also happens to be the boys moms cousin, and the girls other dad is the boys moms uncle, so really they’re cousins and second cousins at the same time

it's interesting, in the sims 3 the game stops recognizing great-great-grandparents as family members but you cannot flirt with them, the romance wheel option is not listed! sad to see how the sims 4 fails to do this

@@OnlyHopeRemainsTTV No, Sims 1. I always wanted to see the limits of the game. Sims 1 wouldn't let immediate family members be romantic. I kept creating new generations and trying the new member to romance the original ancestor. Mother, grandmother, etc. None could do it until the great-grandson could finally do it. I could do it without cheating because Sims 1, each house was its own world. No aging whatsoever outside the lot.

I have a vampire family that's like 15 generations old now. Eventually the tree becomes so vast that inbreesing will happen because my furst character is still alive and kicking at 587 days old and most people in the town are family. I only found out after I had a child with someone that it was actually my great great great great great (several more greats) grandchild
I did that with one of my old saves in my game,but it was by accident. I felt bad afterwards. I didn’t know they were related. But it’s like I feel like I should’ve assumed because of how many generations I had going in that save.

There’s a way to “keep it in the family” indefinitely using vampires. My founder Eve could form a relationship with many of her descendants if she wanted too. After 5 or 6 generations she’s now considered an “ancestor”. The game apparently doesn’t care that my founder could marry her latest heir and reproduce with him. 100+ year age difference by now 😂

You should try 2 dads having alien babies and seeing what can happen as far as relations between the kids. (I found out by accident)

I did a challenge, so I made a household with a couple of Young adult Sims two married one girl young adult 3 boys young adult Make one of the boy adults married to the young girl adult put one teen In make them the daughter of the married couple make the girl siblings with the two other boys that aren’t married make one Elderly sim Make them the mum of the 3 children, so the Girl and the other boys that aren’t married then make A toddler Make the toddler the daughter of the Married couple and try and age of the toddler Without getting taken away, I’m managed to survive
I’ve done this in Sims 3 accidentally and thought the generations where a lot further apart then the are in the Sims 4.
