Prasar Bharati Central Archives presents an interview with Girish Karnad, a veteran actor, film maker and play writer.
Girish Karnad acted in several plays and movies that have received critical acclamation. Karnad, a recipient of Jnanpith Award, was also conferred the Padma Shri in 1974 and the Padma Bhushan in 1992.

A great playwright in Kannada and a great film pioneer director of new generation cinemas of Kannada and also of India of 1960s and 1970s. One of change agents of innovative works in Kannada cinemas and dramas. A very hard critic of other works too. We miss you Girish Sir.

I just love all his plays. Than an actor , its him as a playwright that I adore the most. His malayalam movie neelajurinji poothapol, is a beautiful love story. But again it is his plays, specially his Nagamandala.

True. This must be mid 80s Mumbai. DD Studio in Worli was horrible. One of our neighbor went there for some program at that time, they applied lot of cream/powder on his face and when interview started, he started sweating like hell.. Centralized ACs came much later.
