  • FULL STORY IN TROUT FISHERMAN MAGAZINE ISSUE 421. A selection of images taken at Lough Corrib fishing for Ferox Trout. Photographs show Paul Geraghty with fish up to 14lb and my personal best of 19.55lb. All fish were returned except the 19 pounder which has been mounted and on display at Burkes Bar, Clonbur.

Congrats on a great specimen. I have seen the trophy in Clonbur and you dont need to argue with grassholes. That fish is near its end and anyway how many fry and parr did it kill? Well done(from a Corrib angler)

@melo2525 I have returned, hundreds if not thousands of fish. All of my ferox fishing is done with semi barbed hooks and the vast majority returned. He (not she) was a special fish and will be seen and admired by many anglers in the years to come. I see you are Polish, you kill Carp dont you?????

What a fish. The rights and wrongs of returning such a fish or the legitimacy of other's claims detracts from the capture of a fish that for most people would certainly be a fish of a lifetime.
Once you've got your trophy back from the taxidermist, I'd be surprised if you would consider killing another as no matter how well they are done, they just don't have the magic that a living creature has.
Well done on a great fish. The photos are tremendous.

@melo2525 I know all about these so called Polish anglers' big fish, and so does everybody else at Corrib. Easy to say a fish was 20lb when it was put back. Typical comment from an armchair angler who eats Carp on Christmas!
