  • Welcome back I’ve been #gifted a #flexstackpack recently please watch the video to see how it compares to my current system of craftsman #versastack. In the interest of full disclosure I did pay for every versastack and #tstak I have.

    The Ridgid pro gear 2.0 is great, I love it. Heavy duty and inexpensive by comparison to DeWalt, Milwaukee, and flex. Not as flashy, but I love it

      A lot of people like that setup. I could only try so many way back when I bought my first tstak. But I’m glad you commented. It’s always good to have options and I hope people read the comments. 👍🏼🤠👍🏼

    I agree with you, a smaller footprint is ideal for work in private residences. I love my pack out but it is cumbersome when working in peoples’s homes because it is meant for larger venues. So I take a lighter load of tools. Glad you found a system that works for you. The flex stack pack is a solid mobile storage system if you need the durability and modularity.

    You have to find what works for your workflo,and we all have different flow.
    I installed fence for 15 years out of a service body ,which the best system I've ever used .
    3 years ago I changed to cabinetry,installing,setting up new equipment ,maintenance and all that goes along with all those jobs .
    Modular storage ,in my opinion is a system that works best on wheels primarily .
    I went with packout for the convenience of the latch only,not due to brand or the cool factor.
    In our shop we have Festool systainers ,Makita compatible ^ Mac-boxes,and original Husky .
    They all felt like they would fall apart at any time.
    I started with 2 rolling PO stacks before the drawers were available .
    So picture a 17 ft box truck with a pullout ramp ,entire clear floor up to 5 ft.
    The only obstacles are 1 rolling mitersaw stand on its end,and 1 hand truck.
    Currently I have the dolly holding levels and Lazer tripod in the rear.
    Bottom is 3 drawers for all hand tools,sds,hackzall,omt.
    Next is large box tracksaw/tracksquare/trackclamps grinder,omt ,and 10 Makita batteries ..at 50lbs my heaviest box.
    Above that is the small box with all drills/drivers/heads and every bit needed .
    Mounted to the walls are 6 wall brackets .
    Passenger side hanging on 4 are 4 crates with drawer boxes hanging below with lesser used tools and supplies... Guide rails and work platforms hang above them.
    Driver side the other 2 wall brackets,with 2 screw boxes,hardware jig/screw box.
    + individual boxes with...2# 23g pinners, router,3rd omt,shims,extra screws,inspection camera.
    If I would start over, I would build 2 old school 1ft wide X3 ft long X 2 ft high wood boxes with a single lower drawer and open at the top.
    around the handle.
    Obviously everyone works out of different vehicles ,and different tasks ,in diffferent houses.
    90% of our jobs we lay a blanket under the ramp on a porch,and roll everything inside.

      Absolutely right on. This is why I want to give these to someone that it might fit their workflow better then mine. Oh and I’ve seen the pics of your box truck it’s a great setup for sure. 👍🏼🤠👍🏼I hope I didn’t come off as this is better then that? I am just trying to show what works for me. It’s so hard to review tool boxes or storage options bc everyone is different and wants different things from your storage.

    So you rather small boxes that you can put small essential tools rather than big boxes to put all your tools in ?? That's what I'm getting out of this comparison. So even with it being able to hold more and hold tools on the outside cords levels.. flex Milwaukee Ridgid and all the others are more convenient for outside work and more portable system basically for non finished homes?

    • @saldonato
      @saldonato  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In short yes. I prefer task based kits/boxes instead of larger catch all tool boxes. And the smaller size does work much better in finishes homes. Now Dewalt tough system 2.0 and Milwaukee packout have the half size boxes which would probably meet my needs.

    • @TacticalThib
      @TacticalThib ปีที่แล้ว

      @@saldonato yes exactly I have the packout system and store specific tools and batteries in each so I can grab one of my small half boxes with my m12 fuel installation tool with all the attachments with a medium sized cup at the top with everything I need for an install.

      Oh I get it. I need to but if you heard in the video I have an injury with my one arm and I am not approved to lift anything substantial. My regular work on a day to day basis puts me in pain by the end of the day. Trust me I wish I can lift more. Thanks for watching. 👍🏼🤠👍🏼

    I started out with Verstak/tstak, I ended up switching to Makita systainers because the largest T stak wouldn't hold my cordless nailers. The flex land even milwaukee looks great but like you I prefer the smaller foot print boxes. I also prefer to have my tools organized more or less individually with their accesories then just thrown in a few big boxes. Thanks for sharing

    • @saldonato
      @saldonato  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I went from systainers to the tstaks and now versastack. I agree with you. Nothing wrong with the other systems there isn’t one for everyone and every trade. 👍🏼🤠👍🏼 thanks for watching and commenting.

    Interesting - not for everyone then - I'd been thinking of one of these tough systems (like er, ToughSystem) for bigger tools, but you gotta factor the all-up weight in - if youre gentle the humbler systems might work better...
    That said, if youre giving away the Stack Pack .. Ah darn I'm in London Though ;)

      Thank you Pete. Yes I would agree every system has its pluses and negatives. I sorta feel like the flex is a cross between the tough system(sizing) and the pack out(all the accessories)

    I am already highly invested in the Flex Cordless line and cannot wait to get my hands on the stack pack with all the accessories. My only issue is that I am also invested in Pack Out. I will have to start replacing like boxes as they come out.
    If you are definitely giving this system away, I would love to enter the drawing.

    • @saldonato

      Their power tools have been great - at least the ones I’ve tried. At least you can sell off the pack out pretty easily. Unfortunately I think I’m going to have to limit this giveaway to more local pickup just bc of the weight of this and some goodies I’ve been putting inside. 😉 I hope you are local.

    The verstack is for DIY not the professional guy you should have compared the Flex to the 2.0 tough system, bucko

    • @saldonato
      @saldonato  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know plenty of professionals using the tstak/versastack system and I’ve been using it for years everyday for my work. I am an owner operator which I know is less hard on the tool boxes then say employees. That said yes the tough system is better built and probably a better comparison for sure but it’s what I have 👍🏼🤠👍🏼

      @myballsitchsomethingfierce6319 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@saldonato I use the tstak and verstack system myself but the tough system 2.0 is more durable and is a better comparison.
