I have the full packout system but man - that Flex system is really impressive. I have a lot of Flex Tools and they continue to impress me. The flood light was my newest purchase and unlike the Milwaukee which was burning my eyes out on jobs, this thing works perfectly so when I work in rooms I'm not battling the brightness. Perfect - and yes I've dropped it and kicked it around and it doesn't even complain.
Hi Guys!!! Looks like Flex took the best features of DeWalt and Milwaukee storage systems to create their storage system, which is super smart to do. And, they added features that those systems have been missing such as removable handles, internal storage organization, outside tool organization, etc. When Flex comes out with drawers, that will be interesting to see what they come up with. God Bless Everybody and Have an Awesome Week!
The one thing I do like about Packouts are the release function to unclick them. One button lock that slides forward. With this system if you store your boxes into say a cabinet, you'd have to make sure you can still access the sides to be able to unclick certain boxes. With pack out since it's the front you can make your tool cabinet tighter because you don't have to access the sides.
Just bought this system I'm very happy with it and it is actually A LOT of storage for my carpentry, plumbing, and electrical needs. Definitely recommend.
This Video was "So Good" I went to Lowes and ordered one! I work in people's homes, plumbing, electrical, appliances, heating, cooling, whatever. I am glad I watched your video before I bought the Dewalt or Milwaukee or other packouts. Thanks! Subscribed!
When these mobile toolbox’s first started becoming popular I went middle of the road ($ wise) and bought the entire Rigid system and have continued to purchase each new addition that they came out with (not very many, like 3 extras) and I absolutely LOVE the quality that the Rigid system has but THIS & the MILWAUKEE stack unit have SOOO many more accessories and I’m a gadget guy. So I’m thinking about cleaning out all my rigid “pieces” (approx.8-9) and selling them to get one of these set ups.
I also went with Ridgid, but I use it as my rolling photography kit for sporting events. I would like to see more pieces, but instead, they released new versions of the pieces I already have, save for the new half-size divider cases. I like those, but you need the newer boxes to be able to store the half-size boxes on the lids. If I'm going to start over, I might consider another brand. What I like most about this Flex kit is the ability to store the bit sets between the wheels of the largest box. I'd love to see them offer empty boxes to clip on there so I can have the box w/o buying drill bits I don't need. Great review. Thank you!
Wow that impressive how well thought out that system is. With all the hooks on the out side thats something that as a DIYer I could use in my garage. Definitely think this holiday season I’ll be investing in a storage system. Just not 100% sure which one but Flex is looking tops so far.
I already have the tradestack rolling boxes and drawers, the adapter that lets me stack tstak on top but in Lowe's right now these flex stack boxes are on CLEARANCE just got the middle sized bin for $50, small box for $40. Usually the three box rolling stack is $300 so I got a steak at $90 for 2/3 of it.
Flex needs to come out a mounting system for a vehicle. That is the only thing it needs. I just purchased a packout system for my FJ Cruiser and my UTV. All I have to do is put a mounting plate in both vehicles and its interchangeable.
Go Clint! "Hawd Hamm" I love those cases. They did it ALL right! Only one move left Packout! It would be a shame to see my "Red Tools" in those Flex Cases but it's seems to be headed that way, lol.
There is a nice boxes, I really like it, but just for one single thing, I'm stay with Milwaukee, the big handle, that when you pick it up, and forgot to put the latchs, your tools go to the floor 😅 but flex, is being doing good 👍
Those clips can actually be replaced super easy. I had one pop all the way out but the spring was ok and plastic wasn’t cracked so I just shoved it back in and it clicked into place. I imagine the future they’ll sell them separately but because there’s so new if they break just get one for free through warranty. The smaller size though, are probably a little more tricky to replace… But I assume it’s possible.
I would love to see how you utilize the storage, now have 2 of the 3 stack but struggling to get organized. Separate by woodworking plumbing.... Or big tools, small tools, too accessories......
Sounds like you could even do with a separate stack pack system. One exclusively for woodworking and the other for plumbing. With only one tote, with shared tools, that you swap back and forth. depending on the job.
@@AltruisticWarriorI've been trying to go compact with my tools, M12 on a lot. Working on making sure it always goes back so I always know where it is in what box. I do less with plumbing so keep that in flex and Milwaukee bags
This video is Real Nass Like! Well done Sir! This is the best tool storage video that i have seen yet. I got a bunch of Packout boxes and a couple Packout toolbags and while I like them,I've never been happy with the price. Flex seems like they are targeting the same "Prosumer or Spoiled DIY Dad" demographic with their pricing, but unlike Milwaukees Packout system, This Flex Storage system seems like it is a better value. They have the advantage of being able to "borrow" the good ideas from the other systems and then step things up a notch. But Flexs late arrival is a double edge sword. on one side, The battery and tool accessory storage ideas are genius, everything is exactly what you would want in a mobile storage system, plus the color combination is very cool. However, Alot of Flexs target market has already spent a ton of cash on their Packout And Tough boxes, and despite these obviously being a step up from those systems, They are not so much better that consumers are going to sell off their current storage systems and buy these. They are a great offering, but to me its to little to late. Dewalts toughboxes. Ryobi and Packout have a ton of accessories and even offer wallmounting options which Flex doesnt have yet. Like i said before, Flex has awesome gear, but their timing couldnt be worse. with gas at almost 6 dollars a gallon, switching tool storage systems is last thing consumers are thinking about.
Flex seems like it’s aiming to become the Apple of the industry. Well designed products that are simple but have an ecosystem where accessories and add ons work extremely well together. Making it easier for the average consumer
Very nice review and details presentation. The system look nice but the latch on side is a deal breaker for me, I prefer festool/Milwaukee front system to put it on cabinets
I'm a huge Milwaukee fan and have thought about switching to the flex brand of tools and stacking system but with the Milwaukee pack out you can stack your boxes and open the bottom box without unstacking the boxes on the top does any other packing system offer this
Real nice review! Wish the pack out had all those features. You briefly mentioned the removable handle but that is huge. Why hasn't milwaukee figured out their stupid handle won't let you close the cover on your pickup. I really like all these features on the flex.
That’s the only reason I bought rigid boxes years ago. The handle goes down far enough to close my tonneau without laying the box down. It’s kind of a big deal if you ask me.
