I really enjoyed your video! Nice demo and good explanations. Thanks for sharing your barn quilts with us! Love your approach - “ if I want to, I do, if I don’t want to I don’t!”
My husband likes to help in the design process of quilting but doesn’t want to sew anything either. I should show him this video. He just might want to try painting one. Thanks for the idea and great job on the barn quilt.
I love your barn quilt, Wes. Thanks for filling in. Get well soon, Michelle. I recently saw a video of a guy that makes quilt designs using old barn metal. It was pretty cool.
Loved your video & great job. I can tell you are a man about details. Those lines are beautifully straight. Thanks for sharing. Hoping to do some of this while we are camping.
How sweet! I love how you want to share her hobby with her! My husband loves the quilts I make and that is one of the reasons I love to make them. I enjoyed this video! Thank you for sharing!!
Feel better soon Michelle! I'm sorry your under the weather. It's a good thing you have a "fixer" ❤ in Wes!👍🏻😜 Great tutorial!👍🏻 I love that you made this tutorial. 🌺 I want to make some and hang up on my patio! Thank you so much! 🤗 I love your sweet Milo! 🥰
This was cool. I had never heard of a barn quilt. Takes some patience doing all that taping, but it seems to be key to getting those lovely crisp edges! Thanks, Wes, I might have a go at this👍😊
Fun idea, I'll try this, maybe even weather proof it to hang on the side garage. Thank y'all - and it was a treat to see happy Milo. We have a Boston, and I made a silhouette of her that I applique as my label in the lower back corner of my quilts. Feel better Michelle!
Hope you’re feeling better soon Michelle. Thank you Wes for a great tutorial. That’s an absolutely beautiful piece. Maybe I can get my husband interested. Love your Boston terrier too. ❤
I have never seen it done this way. I like that you start by covering everything with the tape first and draw the design on the tape. I will definitely be trying it your way. Thanks for the ideas. I watched another video where she went around the edges with a slightly dry brush before filling in. It seems to make for very crisp lines.
You are a blessed woman having a husband like him. I didn't know it was covered with tape for 12 minutes. What a beautiful idea, my husband needs to watch this ♥️!!! Has he done a feathered star?
Didn't you say you got the barn quilt wood shape already to paint from Home Depot? What is the proper name for that product? I asked at our local and thy could not find it even via their internet store.
Aww that was sweet when Wes said “he fixes things”. He’s helping you as you recover!!
It was such a big help!
Thank you for the idea! I always enjoy seeing barn quilt barns on road trips.
Me too!
And I love Wes's tutorial. Thanks for sharing😊
Thank you!
Team work. Great stand in Wes. Enjoyed seeing how these are made.

Get well soon, Michelle! I enjoyed your demo today, Wes. You have the patience of a saint! Beautiful work.

No he hasn’t.

You are welcome!
Great idea!
Thanks!
You rock!
He does!
Bravo!
Thank you!
Try using yellow frog tape. It's made to use on freshly painted surfaces and it's easier to see through.
Thanks for the tip!
Awesome! Love your videos! Two questions: What do you use to seal the paint for indoor/outdoor use? What material do you use for outdoor barn quilts?
I just used a spray varnish/sealer from Ace. I use the same stuff indoor and outdoor.
I hope Wes’s answers helped! I didn’t know what he had used.
@@thesimplequilter7499 …yes thank you. But what kind of wood does he use for the large barn quilts
thats was great
Thank you!
Love this tutorial. How do you seal it for outdoor use? I want one under my front porch.
He just used a spray sealer.
It looks like you need a mug rug for your thermos. LOL.
Lol!
Yeah
Love this..ty
Thank you!
Great video....make more🐑👩🏻🎨
Didn't you say you got the barn quilt wood shape already to paint from Home Depot? What is the proper name for that product? I asked at our local and thy could not find it even via their internet store.
It was ready to go and it was from Walmart.
Any idea what they are called so I know what to ask for?
I don’t know what they’re called but they are back in the craft section where the little canvas squares and all that are located.
Great
Thank you!
Hi Milo!
Thanks!
A hair dryer let’s you paint that second coat sooner.
Great tip! Thanks!
