砕破 沖縄剛柔流 Saifa サイファ

サイファーは「砕破」という字が充てられていますが、中国の福建省福州地方の発音ると「獅子法」とも書けるようです。
確かに、型の中で獅子爪にして所作が見られますし、型の最後では獅子が大きく口を開いた様を想像させます。
剛柔流の型は、成立した時期は不明ですが、古くから存在していたものと考えられます。
那覇手の大家東恩納寛量先生も福州で学ばれて来たものをいくつか伝承されていますから「型の名称」と由来については、今後、さらに検討が加えられるということも考えられます。
サイファーは、撃砕1、撃砕2の普及型を終えると剛柔流の本格的な型として初めに教わる型です。
相手の力に便乗しての反撃技の繰り出しや四方八方に目を配り技を展開するなど、はっきり相手を想定した実戦的な型であります。
この型は演武時間が短く比較的覚え易い方ですが、腰の捻り方が難しく、力強さと素早い動きの表現が必要であることなど繰り返し稽古を積んでいきますと型の持つ奥行きの深さと型には皆特有の持ち味があることを教えてくれます。

Saifa is the first kata taught as a full-fledged Goju-ryu kata after the popular kata of Gekisai 1 and Gekisai Ⅱ.
It is a practical kata that clearly assumes the opponent's strength, such as launching counterattack techniques by taking advantage of the opponent's strength and developing techniques by looking in all directions.
This kata is relatively easy to learn because it takes only a short time to perform. However, it is difficult to twist the waist, and it is necessary to express strength and quick movements.
