    I am SO GLAD I'm not the only one who does an awkward turtle wiggle when I fall with a pack full of rocks! I'm usually alone, though, so I have to ditch the pack and flip over to my hands and knees to get up first! It's awful!

    What a great spot. I liked the petrified wooden shoe the best. The jasper Jim found with the red bands was blood streaks. I have a small emergency kit I made that fits in my shirt pocket. It doesn't have to be much. I liked the turtle on it's back trick because of all the rocks
    Good save Jim. Be safe and stay healthy 😷⚒

    literally I am you, complete with following wildlife trails and falling over ("turtling") and struggling to get back up with zero finesse, only I am the Forester Edition. 😂
    I'm inspired to get out onto the river today (AGAIN) after a run this morning! 😊Are you guys in a drought situation down yonder? Here in north central British Columbia, we're at drought level 5 after low snowpacks last winter, a long hot dry summer (of more wildfires, so many fires), and very little rain this fall. We're keeping our fingers crossed for great snowpacks this winter or things will get reallly ugly next year. It's great for rockhounding on the Fraser and Nechako rivers for newbies like me, but as I look for rocks and look around, I worry about the ongoing effects on salmon, wildlife, ecosystems, agriculture, and all of us. 😩

      LOL, SS, my entire life I have been using the wrong word for the wrong color. I had to look it up! Interesting how our brains latch onto something and decide it's true. :D

    When you say, "it's just a milk agate," what does that mean?

    • @KatyDidRocks
      @KatyDidRocks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      "Milk agate" is my word for a silica-based rock that would have been an Montana agate if it didn't have so many other minerals in it. It is translucent, but not as translucent as genuine agate - it is cloudy, or milky. I sometimes call them a "near agate." Others call it a "mud agate," which I think is really mean! :D

    What kind of backpack do you use?

      It’s nothing special, Anita - I just got one that has a hip belt and chest strap, then stick a small wastebasket inside to keep it open. 😁

      KatyDid oh. That explains the sound when something is dropped inside. Thanks!
