Hurray for more LI content! 🥳 Glad to see you getting into it, and despite the hiatus, you didn't get a lot wrong. Well done and thanks for the report!
Thanks for another LIMP battle report by the two politest generals you will ever see. Ultramarine I get, but a polite Worldeater?! Beautifully painted minis and scenario. Kudos
Great battle report. Perfect mix of showing the dice rolls but not showing everything, excellent length for a battle report. Also nice in game discussion on tactics. Perfect to watch as I assemble some Solar air defence turrets. Regarding your comment at the end about activation play and whether to have large or small units. I think its best to have a mix because having more small units leads to enemy overkill on small units and helps win the movement phase as you wait to activate your bigger units until after the enemy has activated most if not all of their stuff. Having large units means you can get your firepower off early. For adding more small units I like small marine detachments in rhinos, eg. 55 points get 4 marines stand and 2 rhinos and 2 activations, I also like jetbike squads because you don't get a points discount for having larger units and having point defence weapons they fire in the movement phase. Personally I do like the large 6 model kratos unit (battle cannon and all lascannons).
I was going to comment the same. It worked really well for the first turn to familiarize audience with units, and show off the minis. Clearly a lot of work out into this report, thanks. And two polite guys having a good time makes it all the better.
Great battle report. The wrecker weapon rules (with the leviathan dreadnoughts) are a bit difficult to work out. I think you activate the wrecker weapons in the first fire or advance fire phase, so you don’t charge into base contact with the building, you need to advance. Only non infantry models with wrecker can do this. The leviathans are then engaged and pinned with the infantry inside and therefore need to fight them during the engagement stage. If they survive this and are no longer engaged and pinned, then they can use their wrecker weapons to try and destroy the building. This seems to suggest that they can only do this if the building is empty. Larger scale models are engaged but not pinned, so could use their wrecker weapons if they survive the engagement phase, even if there are still models in the building.
@ It’s definitely confusing. To add to the confusion, the rules for Titans are different. Titans in base to base contact with a building garrisoned by enemy detachments are not engaged with them, nor are the detachments in the building engaged with the titan (p76 of rulebook). The titan can therefore attempt to destroy the building in the combat phase, as well as firing their weapons (ignoring the detachments garrisoned in the building).
No model can be in base to base contact with a (enemy garrisoned) structure unless they are: 1. An infantry model with a Charge Order 2. A Titan 3. A model that has a weapon with the wrecker trait (Main rules. p72) Models in base to base contact with a structure count as engaged with all enemy detachments garrisoned within the structure. (Main rules. p72) A model with a weapon with the wrecker trait may attempt to destroy a structure when activated in the first fire stage, or advancing fire stage. Choose a structure the model is in base to base contact with ... (Main rules p85) So, a dreadnought with a wrecker weapon has two ways to contact a building: (1) to charge the detachment in the building (they can do this because they have the wrecker weapon) or (2) to advance to the building. In either case they will fight a combat in the engagement phase. If they advanced rather than charging, and are no-longer pinned in the advancing fire phase (because they won their combats) then they can wreck it. Note that if a model such as a knight *starts* the turn engaged with the building, they could have first fire orders and, if not pinned, could try to wreck the building before combat, even if they were engaged.
Only turning up for look at army list/models Be good to have a pic of the whole army and cross them out through game , so we get regular look at more pics of the models
Awesome to see more legions. My models are VERY SLOWLY getting painted and hoping to get more games as the line matures. Keep up the LI!
Great to see another Legions game. Lovely armies and a great board to fight over!
Thanks!

Hopefully more soon. I do need to help out the gang with their 40K armies in prep for LVO next year.

Presentation style with the small rotating pictures of the units is fantastic! Really helps with this sort of game.
Thanks, I wanted to do something to show off the models, especially Jacobs World Eaters. But it's a lot of work on the editing side.

Very fun video to watch. A lovely balance between banter and action and knowing when to speed up; great work.
Love it! Great battle report! Please bring more LI. Oh, and WE v UM is perfection. Loved the entire battle!
Thanks! We are loving Legion Imperialis

It's probably the most confusing rule we've come across, thanks for your interpretation.

Well played, I love this game so much. As World Eaters You should have emphasized more on close combat units.

Love it! Awesome work!
Is that a neoprene DZC mat? Where can I get one of those please?
Deepcut Studios I believe. I did a video review of that mat here... th-cam.com/video/sDXbKH2rXCI/w-d-xo.html
My hero! Thank you for coming back to me. Watched your other video, excellent review, much appreciated!
Looking at board expect quick slaughter. Rather sparse board and grid placement and same angle as deployment zone. Long firelanes galore :)
