- I didn't know the stress I was putting my loved ones through. Big lesson learnt here.
I did find Jordo in the end (after a stop at the local police station), We found some Barramundi and had a ripper catch and cook. I hope you all enjoy this one and get something out of it.
Hopefully you'll all learn something from this so if you do end up in Cape York or anywhere remote with some kind of carnage you'll have a Zoleo or Satellite phone to contact your loved ones.
See you all next week.

Fantastic adventure mate! Absolutely loved being along with you and seeing you hook up with Jordo. Can’t wait to see more of you two having fun. Good to see you came out safely as well. Can’t wait for series 9!
This video is a true testament of what one man will forsake and endure just to go fishing with Jordo Loved it all .
Get both legends together Jordo and Tremayne , bet it'll be an awesome episode 🙌🏽💯👍🏽
Oh, Nath, my heart goes out to you. Reminds me of many of my trips. What can go wrong generally does. The outback corrugated roads can be torture on the gear, try reducing your tyre pressure. Always love your content bro no matter what.
Great series mate, constantly get inspired to get back up there and also makes me look at photos from my trip up there. Did old coach road last time but didn't know we could get a guide to look at some of the artwork and be told about bush tucker etc on country.
I am new to your adventures (Sub'ed & rang the bell) and at almost 63, I am loving your content! How you respect and learn from the keepers of the land is so nice to see from you youngsters! Maybe in another life I will find my way down-under, but for now, I will sit back and watch you all. As far as cooking, make what you like and just don't forget to keep your Lady updated so she allows you to keep doing what you do 🙂 Stay safe and Healthy!
What an awesome episode! Real life adventure, break downs, Barra and mates! I feel for your wife, but am so impressed with the true mates you have who were ready to drop everything and go find you. The Gulf and Cape York people are true Aussie legends. 👌👌👌👌
42:52 the crocs ate em all I’m thinking , found your channel an hour ago, glad I did. Magnificent area up there. 🇦🇺👍
Great job on shifting that frame into moveable shape! Good thing you had a wench and pulleys and plenty of strong cable and rope. Gotta be prepared when you're out in the remote bush. Also, nice to hear about the original and current people of the land and your obvious respect for them.
Will you ever be making content in Western Australia?
yes definitely will be
Awesome Hit me up if you are in around the East Pilbara go a check out a few spot an do some hunting hopefully get a camel/donkeys/roos.
@@joshuaharding6995 😂😂 camals and donkeys 😂😂😂
I am from South Africa and just love your travels across Cape York. I enjoy the great outdoors and wish I had the chance to do an adventure with you. Awesome fishing. Just epic all-round hardcore outdoor adventure.
First time I've watch any of your content, loved it...Awesome trip mate and I'll definitely be watching more 👍🏼
bloody trailers. awesome ep like always mate, congrats on 40k! and welcome back the barra whisperer!
Love the bush tucker pull overs on the way over ❤
Nathan, this is an awesome episode showcasing what and can go wrong, and also you have to have a bit of knowledge outside of the square to fix things! You certainly have to be self-reliant up in that country and you have conveyed this well. As to communication, certainly a good case to get starlink! Stressing folks out is just as bad as getting stuck in the middle of nowhere! Just so enjoyed this one, great content kept me on edge until the end!
Love the Respect, Love the Wealth of Knowledge, Love the Content...
Great season.
You've gotta Love Australia.
Cheers
Wow man, i just happened to come across your channel and to say I'm envious would be an understatement. I have only watched a couple of videos so far and all i can say is wow. Great channel mate, keep knocking them out 1:11
Firstly what an episode! Poor Mel must have been worried sick, still it all worked out good in the end, hi Mel. Secondly it is great to see Jordo back and more fishing adventures we hope.👍. Now I must take issue with your competition, poor Cheryl has been packed for days, all her gear and no idea just to find we have got to live in Australia to enter, well! We are that dissapointed we are now going round next door to see if we can break an axle on his newly dug garden!! I did tell him as our mentor people thought you were lost in far North Queensland. It seemed to us that he had won the lotto!😉. We are looking forward to your next series and thank you Nath for this one and we are so glad you are safe mate! The Wild Screechers...
Legends!! Ta for letting us tag along from our sofas!
Would be cool to see you take Jordo north to meet and hunt different country with the other boys and vice versa.
We live in such an amazing country!!!!! Thanks fella this one had it all :D
Awesome content and jordo is easy on the eyes also! 😊
Hahah set her up heh
hahaha
@gkyle I'm probably way older than him.
@@tahneeboyd7051hahahaha have a go
I love normanton. Haven't been there in ages. I was meant to go pigging, but it was the flood season. Fishing is amazing there. Miss that place heaps
Great vid, really enjoy your adventures, thankyou.
When I drive out to Coburg, you bolts are what I normally break not springs, but I bring two of each springs I bring for U-bolts also two sets of spare hubs and bearings and three spare tyres for the trailer and my guards are made out of poly so they flex and they don’t rip apart
Cooktown Ironwood, wood is known as red ebony, pretty timer but the wood is likely to cause allergic reactions when worked and is a sensitizer regardless. The leaves are deadly to livestock, assuming they can reach it, which has happened with them in trucks parked under the trees. Very interesting about the root pitch glue.
Another great vid. Thanks Nath! That Mango Reaper is some serious hot sauce believe them when they say 9/10!
Amazing episode mate, sometimes all the real stuff makes it far more entertaining than just fishing 😂 also shit I’ve been thinking it’s said as woonez for ages, he is a legendary photographer
haha, i feel bad saying this but i absolutely loved this one legend man, What an absolute shit of a day, for one of those things to happen is annoying and bad enough, but gee willikers mate, thats all time. I fully understand how over it you were by 7:30 at night, it's enough to rip your undies. I remember the messages that day, and was wondering at the time (hoping(i know that sounds strange) that this was exactly all that had happened. It really shows that when it goes pear shaped it can go really pear shaped out in the bush real quick.
so awesome you could show the whole side of it mate, we live, we learn and we adapt. But ultimately all's well that ends well.
good to see you finally made it, and absolutely awesome to see the legend himself back on Wild Reaches.
thanks for sharing mate, and good to see the ultimate reward of you actually out fishing Jordo for a change at the end of the ordeal. And there is nothing wrong with beer battered anything , haha
Hey mate I use to have same drama with springs on boat trailer snapping worked out that it was from putting axle under spring for more height. We also run chains from crossmember to axle.
Another epic episode nath ❤️I love seeing your car issues and the fixing mate if you get more along the year put them in 🫶🏽 1 of my fav episodes mate thanks for sharing good to see jordo again and the hour Episode… thanks nath ❤️and respect safe travels bro 👌🏾
If you ever in Brisbane can you take me out fishing and teach me please would love that
At least after all the effort with your trailer you managed to land a decent Barra. 👍🏽💪🏽👌🏽
Sorry you're miss's had dramatic time but this was excellent episode, love the bush fix especially,NT and west coast Aussie you should do
Take a while country up there bloke. Did well! Great episode as alwalys🤙
Love your stuff. Nothing better than connecting to country???
Nunda Plum we call it Po,al in Aurukun
Awesome mate!
Great episode. Good to see some side-of-the-road, emergency engineering.
You need to make an off road trailer for that boat!!! If your doing trips like this , love you videos 👌🏻
Pure gold
Great episode mate Something different, the real Life shit that does actually happen.👍👍
Well done with your DIY outback mechanics bro! Stop rest and think of a way to get out of the shit. Awesome bro SOLID!! 🤜🏾💥🤛🏾
I think you have figured this out already, but the ordinary boat traier (any trailer really) is not up to the rigours of Australian outback tracks. Even for your boat (outstanding as it is!), you really need heavy duty trailer. I recall driving out of Darwin down towards West Alligator Head (approx 200km of rough track) in the 1990s. Bits of my boat trailer broke off like yours, generally spot welds breaking on corrigations. Anyway, love your vids,
Awesome man
Can we see an ultimate fish off... You vs Jordo! Pick 5 target species fish. 24 hour challenge who can tick off the most species (legal size) and the biggest of each!
I would not have done a river crossing like that at night. Chicken? Or maybe a bit foolish. Great bit of bush mechanicing there. Good com is crucial. Have gone through the same thing with my wife here in Alaska, Sweety was not happy!
Good time for a sponsor to donate a new trailer 😂
Welll Bloody Hell NaTH ... Lucky you got Home Safe Brother ... Fantastic season 8 Mate ... Gday Jordo good to see you again ... yep 92 cm Barra biggest you caught on Channel Mate ... and now you are here can i get a few good Rump steaks LOL ... hahahaha
Love your Culture Natt with How Culture, watch everywhere you go bro, especially on Country the Beautiful Land of Australia✊🏽Very Respectful Mate 🙏
...gotta meet you 1 day when you down in the Gulf with Jordo (nephew) I'm also a Gkuthaarn Man, but I live in Croydon with my lil Family ✌🏽
It's hard to go past beer batter barra. Hope the trailer goes well.
I know I’m writing a lot on here but you need to get a In Reach that way you can text wherever you are
So you do have one
Mate you need to change the springs to shackles
God dam son how many ladders did u walk under for that bad luck. Jordo is our fav.
Sick video bro you need star link
You reckon you should catch a Mitchell River Prawn? Or should we keep that secret? 👍
Have oi seen the single leaf parabolic spring it’s eye to slipper exactly what oi have have on trailer. Reason I like the is they won’t break at centre bolt as it thick as nearly 4 springs thick and tapers out thinner. Come in 900 kg and 1150 kg rateing I always carry 2 spare of them in country your in. Best $100 ever spent never needed yet as it’s same I run on my tinny
i did notice the TGB quad bike slipped into a couple of shots...... what happened to the CFMoto ?
It got knocked up pretty bad when I rolled the trailer
Hi sorry if I'm writing from Italy but is Jordo an aboriginal?
sergio
Jordo hails from the Barra Culture People that have been here for ever and they love the meter plus Barra spirits .
All different aboriginal tribes eat different from the nest in different parts of Australia 🇦🇺 😋 its very interesting 😉 ❤
Why not park the trailer up in the scrub and come back to it?
What is a bloody big bulldust hole?
It's a big hole in the road filled with an incredibly fine light power that hides the hole . The powder is bulldust and you fall right through it like air .
@ravenfeader so even the dust in Australia will try kill you 😆
@@msbuilding2806 Wait a while Country up North is as spectacular as it is deadly and the dust is no exception.
Good to show emotion mate I’ve dedicated a catch to a good mat …George
I’m fine with beer battered Barra haha
Starlink?
❤❤😂❤🎉
Slipper Springs you must be joking , !
Hey Man; Never, Ever make your wife Worry! I'm sure that she's already worried enough about you doing what you do! 😢! Well...just tell her that you already have all of your subscribers watching out for you! 😶🤭! HA! 😂! As i watch you, I see that you are Level Headed and can figure out how to deal with the situation at hand! So Sorry to see you having all of these Problems! Nevertheless I have enjoyed watching these wonderful Adventures! 😉🤗! ALWAYS 'Have Faith in Yourself! GBU.,SM.,NZ., ✌🤫🦞👍😎✊, Fish Onn! 😁
Please 😂
estwing hammer🙂
There’s another dodgy way of doing this mate just to get yourself back to camp put the wheel on backwards. The offset will be the other way get back to society and help.
Piss's me off that we have to pay an up market fee to enter. Aren't you earning enough from TH-cam and products?
Poor excuse for a user. I've stopped subscribing. Just a money hunger
What pioneer u talking about u mean a bunch of thief stealing these people land n try t wipe them out n u call them pioneer come on mate
Yep those are the ones. get off your high horse. If you watch this show you know where I stand.
@@WildReaches I’ve watch all ur show mate I like ur show but use ur words properly n u no for a fact what I’m saying is true pioneers is people who help a race not try t destroy it they did the same t native Indians in America Australia government is still killing the aborigines now if u don’t see it then I don’t no what t say
Why wouldn’t you buy a oleo satellite texting service what would you do if you were really in trouble
Gather some indigenous foods & herbs and do a cook up of Barra/Mangrove Jack and Kangaroo on a camp fire.
Thank you.
Andy
Changing a spring next to a waterway in far NQ 😂
Living life large
Get yourself a square axle and better designed suspension bro, there is a reason round axles were outlawed in NSW years ago, just for your own safety.
Think 🤔 you might need to build your Gear way Stronger 😉 Brother Natt..
The roads you travel ✨️and the Country you see 👀 are Totally next level 👌
That's why you're Unique!!!
Safe Journeys
Good Vibes
Cheers 🍻 Mate
Don't worry about cooking the same thing all the time, most of us fast forward through the cooking on youtube shows anyway. We're not watching this for your culinary skills.
The rest of your content is killer. Big 🍻
What a season it was ♥♥.....now that's a lot in 1 episode...Glad we got to see Jordo again. Now enjoy some home time with your loved one!!...Cant wait to see the next Season ♥♥
Why don't you have starlink works everywhere better than a satellite phone. Cheapest insurance you would ever get Perfect for emergency and uploading videos and its cheap 👌
Glad you made it out OK lad...🙏 JORDOOOO! 😊😜 DO enjoy yours and Jordo's adventures....! 😃😁 Looking forward to seeing maybe a "Yowie" one day soon! 😋😋
Cheers Nath such amazing country ,glad u got there safely hard going trip mate , what a beautiful Barra n nice to see Jordo again love to go fishing with u both 🤙🙏
Got to love it
One of the best episodes ever, showing how tough the country is and the problems that you endured. You kept it real so good. looking forward to next season and yourself and jordo doing more of the remote fishing , love it
Why are you still playing with toy Trailers asking for trouble? Build a decent one last year forever remember to do your bearings frequently. Before you leave home.
G'day, mate. My spiritual country and old stomping ground is kuku yalanji lands up around Wujal Wujal through to Cooktown.
I was watching your nighttime axle issue, and wanted to pose the hypothetical. How cool would it be to have someone come by with marquees, water, a 6.5kva generator, a welder, a compressor, and a comprehensive toolkit? It may not be a hypothetical in coming months. That's my plan for living on the road. Making a small income to cover fuel, food, and expenses while helping people with these sorts of breakdowns.
Thanks jordo much respect for you and Nathan together sharing your country 🫶🏽
Give jordo a high 5 from me...👍🏴
And one to yourself..that has been avid viewing...
Australia can break things... equipment and people...
It's not an easy country to travel in....!
Been there, well NT..got the tee shirt....hats off to you sir..from a Scottish Mitchell...👍🏴
I'm not sure if I'm related...🥴🥴🤔
Another cracking season mate! Loved every minute of it. Great to see Jordo again too 👍
Only new to the channel, I'm shocked you don't get millions of views, it's such quality stuff.
I'm intrigued, you've mentioned the yowie once or twice, mainly joking. But do the indigenous people speak about it like a real thing? Or is it dreamtime?
Love your work mate, the scenery, fishing, respect for the land. It's pure quality
Lovely Ep and fish and great work getting it sorted, But for a bloke that's done thousands of ks on them dirt roads, I would thought you would have a better trailer under your Tinny that trailer is not fit for purpose, I have dragged my 5m tinny Trailer and Boat up the Cape in the dry and just after the wet for 10 years done a dozen or more trips up with it. and towed to Nhulunbuy at the Wet season never broke a spring or had dramas as its built for purpose, Just saying.
Yep boats trailers and rough roads!
Great mcivoring !
Get yourself out of a predicament.
Had a few of those episodes over the years.
We’ve cooked fish whole on the side of fire not even gutted
Murray cod came up magnificent.
It was only a matter of time before that cheap boat trailer let you down - a little bit of time researching offroad boat trailer design would have highlighted that many have had the same problems as you had with cheap trailers. You need to build a better trailer for your next trips. You can also get a garmin GPS that will send SMS and location via satellite for a very cheap subscription. Maybe be a little more prepared.
Good luck smoothing it out with the family. I don't know much about it but would Starlink be an option? You did a good job of the breakdowns, great episode as usual. Do you think you could get to the stage where your family could do these trips with you?
Love AUSTRALIA but love Trinidad and Tobago more man I could swim no Crocs shit in peace no spiders run up an down in d bush an no snake going to kill me man . bless.
Hi bud your axle is in wrong it’s meant to be sitting on the spring between the body and the spring and the location plate welded on axle sitting on the pin and fish plate on the bottom with spring washers and the nuts.. that’s why it came loose and slid I make trailers and work at a trailer hire place and I do repairs people mount like yours for extra hight but as you found out it moves
By the way Id Love to travel with you up north.
I’ll make sure you call if there’s a hiccup in proceedings!
Also have a squizz at torsion axles rather than springs.
On your trailer less mechanicals to stuff up
