How exciting!!!!!!! Wonderful harvest and sight! I ADORE pumpkin pie and winter squash and could eat it every day for weeks. You are a good example of what chickens can produce even outside their assigned area - the manure must enrich the soil around also. Isn't God's work amazing?

Congratulations on your harvest. Please share some recipes. Where I live in Canada we do not have sucess with squash but we can get them at the grocery store so i need help with cooking them. I just read that squash bugs are repelled by the smell of mint. Could you spray your plants with a solution of essential mint oil and water? I do that for aphids 🎉here and it really works. It does have to be done often and always after a rain. If you grew your own mint, you could use a strong solution of mint tea. Careful though, mint can be a very invasive plant. I plant mine in pots that I sink into the ground so the roots do not spread. Your enthusiasm and good humor is contagious. Please keep posting. Can't wait to see what you are up to next.
I’m sorry you’re not able to grow your own squash, but so happy you’re able to buy it. Oh, trust me! I have tried every option in the book to ward off squash bugs. This generation of them are just smarter than us. I imagine big families of squash bugs sitting around and talking about what people are trying to do to get rid of them and just laughing. 🤣🤣🤣 As far as recipes go, I’m looking for some myself to use all the pumpkin and butternut as well.
