    Urgggg, I love this 💕💕 So pretty and mysterious. I could imagine this would be a stand out memory for the performers. Wish I could see it live :))

      The 'guy on the end wearing black' is the Master teacher of our double bass section, Max McBride, he's earned his all blacks!

    Music itself is interesting but I don't see the point of having the 8 basses. They're not even doing solos.

      To symbolize 8 big creaking trees in the woods, especially effective around 12 :40 when they start knocking on the body of the double basses.

      They do solo independently at 11:40 in a way that only multiple double basses can. The rest of the time I agree the number is there mainly for strength of collective tone when they play melodies together.
