  • Get abs like an athlete and build a powerful core here
    athleanx.com/x/...
    Ab exercises are a dime a dozen. You can probably think of over 100 of them if you really sat and concentrated on it for the next 5 or 10 minutes. That said, when it comes to powerful ab exercises, the options become that much more limited...especially when you look for ones that require you NOT move your abs!
    Confused? In this video I show you the most powerful ab exercise you can do to develop 6 pack abs when your diet is in check. All it requires is a barbell, a few plates and a corner of the room. This particular abdominal exercise will work the old abdominales while fitting into any complete six pack abs workout program.
    In fact, it's a great core exercise. Remember, the core is made up of much more than just your abs. This exercise will incorporate distal arm movement to demand the core be trained for its anti-rotation function. Not every ab workout should consist of just crunches or planks. Controlling rotation is just as important for the abs.
    Try this ab exercise out and see if it doesn't slide its way to the top of the best core exercises list. If you want a complete workout program used by today's top professional athletes to get a ripped core and a powerful athletic physique be sure to head to athleanx.com to check out the ATHLEAN-X Training System.

    The title it too appropriate, because this doesn't hit abs - this hits EVERYTHING. I don't know what you call this exercise, but whatever you call it, it will toast your arms and shoulders along with your core. Thanks for this awesome suggestion, Jeff.

    Was looking for a bench for hyper back extensions, sit ups, and flat bench. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx1N3gatJfHIxCsI2TbcOH1-k8v-EDJ40N Was about to buy a similar product from other manufacturer when I saw this one for less. Glad I chose this one, as it's very solid/stable, no movement whatsoever. Incline is easy to adjust as well. As others have said the plastic foot pads are a poor design as they are not attached. Also like others, I think it should be a few inches longer for a flat bench, but it's workable. Assembly instructions were poor, with one step being completely and obviously incorrect. I did get a communication from the seller that there were new instructions, but I had already assembled it. Overall it's a great buy, very happy with it.

    The exercises which require you to use your core to resist rotation are always fantastic for developing core strength. Another great one you can do if you have some sort of cable column apparatus is the Pallof Press. Same principle but with less shoulder involvement for the folks that find the arm movement here a bit distressing.

  • @MrGonq
    @MrGonq 5 ปีที่แล้ว +24

    This is the way abs are meant to be trained, your core provides rotational stability, which things like crunches don't utilize. (Not to say crunches aren't good but this is directly training what they're meant to be used for)

    Since I don't have a spare barbell to use in "Landmine" fashion (I have one up on squat bars on the rear of a bench and one on the front side of same), I got the idea to try fundamentally the same thing holding a single dumbbell in both hands (goblet style) and swinging that back and forth while keeping my core still. It worked great with a 20 pound bell and nearly as well with a 15.

    • @chrismcdaniel2716

      Youssef Rochdi You could do something with sledge hammer swings, but it would probably be a completely different exercise. My latest acquisition and toy -- and I'll have to try it for something like this -- is a sandbag. (Mine's the "Athlete" model from BruteForceTraining.com.)
