A great hack that I’ve discovered is rotisserie chicken. You can get them at most any grocery store and they’re cheap. Around $5-$9, where else can you eat lunch for that? Whatever is left over, I can put in the old lunchbox and take home for dinner.
Costco pro-tip. They sell pre-portioned frozen ground beef in their freezer section in 1lb bags. I believe it’s the same beef and price as the ground beef in the fresh meat section.

Fwiw, I almost did that until I learned how low quality that chicken meat usually is.
My dinner is usually a block of cheddar cheese dipped in Tabasco sauce, washed down with some fine scotch, just like my idol Mark Rippetoe.

Find a local butcher, and get a couple neighbors and get a quarter cow. Very economical
