All of this info is important to know. Maltese dogs are the most gentle and loving babies. They love their owners and want to be near you all the time. They are very smart and easy to train. I just love ❤ them.

I have two Maltese x Shih Tzu my earliest Lucky is 14 years old, I adopted him when he was 7 because a dear friend passed away with cancer, he was her little sweetheart. Even though he is very healthy I was worried that one day when he passed away it would break our hearts. So I talked my husband into buying a puppy, she is exactly the same colour, white with light gold on their ears. Her name is Phoebe she’s now 8 months old.
She is such a playful little sweetheart and brings the puppy back out of Lucky at times but sometimes he doesn’t feel like playing and tells her off, he has never hurt her.
I feed them both human quality boiled chicken breast mixed with steamed sweet potato and a few other vegetables along with good quality dry food for their teeth and extra vitamins and minerals.
They love raw carrots 🥕.
We love them so much . When it’s our darling Luckys time (which I don’t want to think about) would you recommend us getting another puppy for Phoebe?
Only thing is we are both in our 70’s and worry about what would happen to them if and when we pass.

I’m disabled and am getting a Maltese puppy for the first time this coming week and am so excited. I have a pug who is 9 years old and her buddy passed away a few years ago and now we’re ready to bring another puppy home. I’ve always wanted a Maltese but my husband was reluctant because of the size he likes a little bigger dog however after my watching many Maltese videos he got onboard. And then we have adopted Digit, she arrives on Saturday, I have a lot of experience with dogs but that was before I was disabled and could get out and walk, I can’t walk without my walker and I have to train the puppy to ride upstairs on my chairlift with me, what do you suggest would be the best way to do this so that the puppy will not be afraid of the lift as it moves up and down?

Hii, sorry to hear that 😢 seams your Maltese is eating too much dry food like kibble or jerky, try to change his diet slightly to a more oily food. But most importantly he may be also drinking too little. Maltese sometimes don’t drink enough. Try to give him water by spoons, this works with our boys. Alternatively put a little water into his food each time. 👍 Hope it helps! ❤️🐶
