Breaking to tears as a watch this. My father was very ill from very young but he lived everyday like there was no tomarrow. He wasn't supposed to make it out of the womb. He was on death watch all his life but he ran a million dollar company, had nine Kids, lived abroad etc. He passed 2 years ago but he loved every minute of life.
Yea, but he's better at historical drama's then comic-book flip action. Personally them removing him from superhero's all together was the best thing that they did for him
I thought it's new and when it said 'This October', I thought, "well, that's bloody long". Your comment literally made me realise that this movie came out 2 years ago.
This trailer alone makes me smile so much, definitely will be watching it. These aren't just good films, with extraordinary actors, These were _real people_ who out of their darkest weaknesses grasped onto hope & pursued their vision, _kept pushing_ forth to manifest an idea into reality, *a reality to help humanity beyond just themseleves.* ❤️
You can't possibly say that. I'm sure he does a great job, and he's a top actor probably top 20 around, pushing for top 10 (I'm talking RIGHT NOW, not those that are alive in general), but this character doesn't look as technically difficult as Eddie Redmayne's Hawking.
He reminds me of my uncle who contracted polio and lived a life like this man. He and my aunt had two children before the polio and three children after the polio. My uncle went everywhere with the family including climbing mountains.
TO KNOW Robin Cavendish was to know the personification of courage. Many people achieve moments of great courage, few are called on to show it continuously for 36 years. When Cavendish was struck down by polio at the age of 28, he was given first three months, then one year to live. Totally paralysed from the neck down, he became technically a 'responaut', wholly reliant on a machine that breathed for him. Against all advice, he left hospital after a year and confounded the experts on his life expectancy. He outlived some of them, and occasionally had himself to be the expert who explained his condition to consultants and nurses. He became one of the longest-lived responauts in Britain, a medical phenomenon. To see Cavendish simply as 'a polio victim' would be a mistake, and would not explain the reason why his death leaves such a gap. What makes him memorable was what he did for others. In the 1960s he tracked down and listed the circumstances of all the responauts in Britain. Until then there had been no record of how many people lived confined to 'iron lungs'.Cavendish's friend Teddy Hall, the polymathic Oxford professor, developed with his help a wheelchair with respirator built in, so that Cavendish was no longer confined to bed. This chair, made in 1962, was a model for others, Cavendish being determined that mobility should be available to other polio victims. He raised money from the Ernest Kleinwort Charitable Trust for the first dozen chairs, and eventually persuaded the then Department of Health to fund a series of chairs, manufactured by Teddy Hall's company Littlemore Scientific Engineering.
Yeah we learned about him in the science department, I got kicked out of there, drinking cleaning solution (ethanol), making sexual comments to teachers, not showing up for class. Horrifying thought being stuck in a wheelchair for that long after being told it would just be for a couple of months. How long was he stuck in there was it 11 years or was it 36 years? That woman also needed a tight slap for forcing him to live. That's why women didn't have rights back then. She needed a tight slap and to be told the famous line "SHUT YOUR MOUTH WOMAN!!!" - Thank you.
I was never on board with Andrew Garfield but then I saw him in 'Hacksaw Ridge'. He was incredible in it and he looks incredible in this. And Claire Foy is stunning in everything.
I am just so happy to see Claire Foy succeed like that! I first saw her in the adaptation of Little Dorrit, years ago (it's still ony of my favourite period drama btw) and I feel in love with this actress! So so happy to see people recognize her talent! Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy are a blessing for our screen!
Silence, Hacksaw Ridge and now this. Really good actor he is. Andrew Garfield + Claire Foy + Tom Hollander + Andy Serkis as director = definitely watch!
I have watched it trying to uncry myself but I failed. Andrew's acting was amazing, authentic and most convincing. I seriously loved the movie; such a true inspiration, about unconditional love and the human possibility. " with her, for her and because of her I accepted the risk of dying " this line is still running in my head. Hopefully his efforts will rewarded.
Man,Andrew Garfield has become from a great actor into an amazing actor and I really hope that he will get an Oscar for this movie because he's such a talented actor and he can play really good a character based on true event.I think that in time he will become one of the greatest actors. But for him to be like that, he needs to won an Oscar for the world to see how talented he is.By the way,for me,Andrew Garfield was the greatest actor who played Spider-Man but I'm kinda glad that he doesn't play the character anymore because if he would continued to play the character than he wouldn't had the chance for playing in amazing movies like Hacksaw Ridge and Silence, not to mention that Hacksaw Ridge was the movie that helped him getting nominated for the best actor.
maybe because I have been watching Andrew Garfield play Americans for so long Im weirded out to hear his true accent on film lol. Claire Foy has always been charismatic... something very classy and graceful about her. No wonder she played the Queen so well. Looking forward to this one.
I remember watching this movie and thinking you was one most beautiful movies I had ever seen the story The acting all of it was just truly believable and beautiful
This is a story that everyone should be able to relate to in some way. True love is not about the good times only (although good times play a part), it’s about going through hell together but not giving up because you care for that other person, and you both want to do what’s right, for God and for each other and for your children if you have any. I’ve known from watching my parents loyalty to each other despite overwhelming challenges from illness, suffering, death, and depression, when just waking up in the morning seemed impossible, but they did it. And it was worth it. I would be an emotional mess if it weren’t for their example (and would probably have died by suicide or at least been institutionalized if it wasn’t for their example). I hope this movie can do justice to the story of true love that exists with all couples who refuse to give up on each other, even when it looks as though “happily ever after” can never be. You can be happy despite the painful circumstances life throws you. Be brave, be strong, and pray for what you don’t have to be given you. God will not turn the sincere prayers away, even if a person knows very little or nothing about God. Ask that he can help you draw close to him, and he will see to it that you have what you need to endure and eventually flourish when the storm fades away.

Ok the writers watched Twelve Years A Slave, because I definitely heart "I don't wanna survive, I wanna live" before! Doesn't matter though, brilliant film! Let's see whether it is as good as The Theory of Everything which is quite topic-related. The first look is heartbreakingly beautiful. Garfield is an A-List actor of his generation and Foy really has this natural glamour and warmth around her, doesn't she?!
Such a wonderful film, based on a true story. So sick of the Hollywood turn-out, of people wallowing in self pity , shouting and scrreaming to no effect, thinking it is great acting! Less is more!
He called her Diana and I thought, "Claire Foy can't have everything. She can't play Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana."
Crystal U sameee!!
Crystal U Oh goodness but wouldn’t that be wonderful. I absolutely love her.
O. Kroeker me tooo
lmao same
Crystal Uchegbu Same!
This dude is quickly becoming a force to reckon with. Oscar worthy performances after Oscar worthy performances.
Dixon G Garfield is on fire with these movies!
a movie where Andrew Garfield doesn't need to hide his British accent 😅😅😅
That is not a real british accent though, he's still putting it on.
☺️☺️☺️☺️
Yes it is.
English accent

Claire Foy is simply amazing! And so is Andrew!

His performance in Silence as well! It seems Spider-man disaster was blessing in disguise for him.
both movies are great! I watched them using boxxy software and i'm happy that i discovered them in moods... very emotional stories
Now I cant see her as anything other than queen elizabeth.. garfield can pretty much be Prince philip in my head

I don't think that's what it said. Inspired by... isn't it?
I don’t understand why they didn’t just make Claire Foy look older in season 4. She was so much better at playing the queen.
ikr 😭
This movie will make you cry, in the best possible way. Oscar worthy performances!
Andrew is coming for that Oscar. He deserved it for Hacksaw Ridge and Silence.
Looks fantastic, Love Claire Foy.

syakira azlan shah Not Emma Watson, Emma STONE.
Lane Crescent Yeah.. I just see what I type.. I always confuse 😂
The whole family are heroes. Life gave them challenges and they rose up to it and met it.
Seeing this for Claire ❤️❤️❤️
I love it when Andrew paired up with a beautiful doll-looking actress such as Emma Stone and then this Claire Foy.
If movies like Me Before You breaks your heart, then movies based on real life incidents like Theory of Everything and Breathe gives you hope.
The director is their son - the actual people in real life’s son! How sweet is that!
This movie was WONDERFUL!
Andrew Garfield is woefully underrated by the Academy, IMO he’s one of the truest talents of our generation
This was such a brilliant, underestimated movie.
He is great actor...
I remember watching this movie and thinking you was one most beautiful movies I had ever seen the story The acting all of it was just truly believable and beautiful

Unfortunately true love is a rarity these days. People who act like dogs on the other hand are on the rise.
