@ nice, hope you continue to grow Cuz this is awesome, it looks super professional and the production value is also great. I swear they gotta start showing this on tv
@@robertlustmord1636 they literally say in the video that its happened before. just because something isnt allowed doesnt mean its impossible to happen.
There is a shortage of armor, especially padded ones. Full knight's helmets with the personal heraldry of each athlete (you can also have the heraldry of sponsors, such as a Gorilla cloak, which is generally a good idea). Will attract sponsors. With a large amount of armor, make the blows more noticeable, do not pretend to be a blow to the helmet with a sword, but hit with all your might, as in MMA. Otherwise there is no entertainment. Attract athletes with good cardio, maybe shorter round times. But hit harder.
swords are just not the thing you want here technically swords are for fighting less armored people but you need to strike a blance a mace would be 50x more effective against the plate you aint cutting people anyways but a nice hefty mace is gonna break bones from the impact forces alone so its hard to balance this for entertainment while still having some sort of hurt
Makes you realize that medical combat pretty hard to kill your opponent it would usually come down to fitness if you get tired your dead. Also blunt mallets would be so brutal just smashing the armour and causing injuries through the armour. The best weapon would be a knife when your close up in a hold u can penetrate weak spots
If someone is wearing expensive armour smaller swords like these do almost zero damage so you can really have fun with it - long handled stuff can knock you off guard easier - its surprising even with the best gear - a whack from a halberd has some real shock value... spears though... always fear the spear... especially those damn bamboo ones... that swishing end can slap you from angles that feel like facing a spin bowler in cricket...while i never saw much difference with weapon types and fighting styles... the japanese/korean bamboo spear fighting styles are insanely good... wish i could do it lol.
Really depends. Armored combat was the exeption rather than the rule - armor is fucking expensive after all. Most people fighting would do so with leather armor, armor was for the rich and/or accomplished mostly. Not just blunt mallets, axes, halberds etc, but also swords were often used against armor - if your sword is heavy enough, it can dent metal plating. The resulting injuries are really gruesome and often lead to prolonged suffering followed by death. When doing 1v1 fights like the one here (with swords that hurt but don't heavily damage this type of armor), it was essential to get your wrestling basics down. Pretty similar to some of these fights here, killing your opponent would often proceed in this order: Gain dominance when standing to bring your opponent to the ground in a way that is advantageous to you, gain control on the ground, use your dagger to aim at the gaps in the enemies armor and stab him to death. Fights to the death were relatively rare aswell, so while important skills to have as a knight it wasn't like they did this every day. It's a fascinating topic because how those fights are portrayed today is an interesting mix of truths, half-truths and lies to make things more exiting.
why are we talking shit to football players? the amount of training and conditioning they go through is certainly more than either of these fighters (not saying these guys dont train and/or are weak). just because you think this is cooler doesn't mean that they deserve things that other people get.
This needs to be pushed to mainstream media this is amazing, can't believe i only just found it
I think I found my new favorite sport ever
Same lol
You hear
Its is the first thought that came in my mind
Same here

How is this not recognized as a mainstream sport, just what I need, another non mainstream combat sport to get hooked on
@chriscapps206 just started this year. Keep with us and we will keep pushing

I keep seeing you in comment sections, so I guess we like the same obscure sport 😂
Finally we found a way to legally have gladiator battles to an extent
New favorite sport unlocked
This is way better than fencing.
That was a solid scrap. Impressive cardio given the size plus the weight of the armor
This is actually soooo dope. Idc that this makes me a “nerd”, this is KICKASS. WE NEED JERSEYS NOW❤
i have discovered that this is hosted in My State, wow
what state?
Hell yeah brother!
Can we push this sport a bit? Love from India❤
Modern day gladiator
Great Scrap!!
All fun & games until a sword through the slits in the helmet
Exactly what I fought 😂😂
Not gonna happen. Thrusts aren't allowed

no mesh in those helmets seems odd for swordfighting?
It can happen from someone falling on a sword or walking into the tip. It's happens most in melees more than duels and profights
This stuff is cool to watch.

Can you dual-wield shields in this sport? I think that's better for combat in this sport than a sword and shield combo
They telephoned Solaire out of dark souls for this fight
Good god why am I JUST finding out about this
😂😂😂 this is awesome
Is that Jason Mamoa?
If the tip of the knife goes between the front grill slats of the helmet, what happens?
from the looks of it i assume they have a anti stabbing rule they only seem to do slicing mostly
LETS GO JIMMY WHAT A BEAST!!
Men loves armors and swords and combat. WHY IS DANA NOT FUNDING THIS INSTEAD?
Anyone know the 1st guys intro song?

Nerd
no, because mediaval combat uses real weapons with deadly blades and weights; and don't have rules.

If you use your sword its not that hard
