Family members of Pearland couple missing in Utah after flash flooding hopeful they are found safe

The brother and sister-in-law of a Pearland couple that disappeared while exploring a trail in Utah Friday, are speaking to KPRC 2 about details of that trip as search crews continue to look for them.

A lot of the trails run through rain washes, and it catches you off guard when the water comes from miles away. Especially if it isn't raining where you are at. I'm so sorry for your loss.

That water comes fast and furious in our deserts. Our land doesn't get much water so when it rains it doesn't soak into the ground it stays on top and forms rivers, it doesn't even have to be raining the area you are in for the water to overtake you, it can be raining 60-70 miles away.
