we are Germans and love to travel and every year we spend three months in the States. So we watched all the A+K Videos. And now you are in our lovely home country. Enjoy it!!! We love your videos !
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Regarding the negative reviews: Extremely popular places, like Neuschwanstein Castle, always also develop a lot of negativity. It's cool to hate on the popular thing. Neuschwanstein Castle, its surroundings and its intriguing history are incredibly unique, impressive and beautiful, I have no idea how anyone could dislike it.
Great video as always, you two! :)
Yeah we totally agree! Thank you and thanks for watching!
Touristy doesn't matter, enjoy history, architecture and nature!!!!
Those castles! Fussen is beautiful…the architecture, mountains, falls and water color!
Oh my! Everything was so beautiful! The castles, lake , town, and waterfall! Thanks for continuing to share your travels with us! Oh, and I can’t wait to get my A+K mug!!!
It was a magical day! Thank you so much! We hope you enjoy your mug! ❤️
Loving your over seas adventures, so magical! You choose the best music for your videos! The place you stayed looked AMAZING!😍
Thank you! We had fun with the music on this one! Thank you and thanks for watching!
I just Subscribed!!! Can’t wait to watch more videos!!! ❤
I love that you guys worked a little history into your video!!! Thank You!!!
Thank you so much!
We absolutely love this part of Germany. We took our teenager granddaughters and stayed in Fussen to see the castle. It was summer time. We walked over to the lake and rented a row boat. They had been in kayaks on lakes but never in a row boat. I nearly died laughing trying to explain to them how to row without lifting the rows out of their holders. They finally got the idea but nearly tipped us out of the boat exchanging positions. They watched your episode with me. Thank you!
That is a funny story! What a memory! Thank y'all for watching!
We toured both palaces and for those thinking of visiting, it’s worth seeing Newschwenstein after Hohenschwangau. It’s bittersweet as it’s gorgeous inside and he spent so little time there.
I am thrilled that y’all included this in your Germany Tour! My reactions would be just like Katherine’s; I’ve wanted to see this in person forever. Loved all of the history and the videography was spot on!! It truly is Picture Perfect! Someday we will repeat this Perfect Day!!❤
We hope you can! It truly is magical there!
Fantastic place!
Wow, that first castle/palace looks like it could slide off that perch at any moment!! What a risky place to build something so majestic as that!
Boy this brought back memories. It's been many years since I've been to Germany. Too many. ❤️
I never miss a video. More stunning scenery and your enthusiasm is always infectious! And is it just me, or does King Ludwig look a little like Adam? Cheers!
I thought that too! 😂
haha I can see a slight resemblance! Thanks and thanks for watching!
We did the same thing when we visited, touring inside Hohenschwangau, and were very happy with our choice. We also went to Linderhof, and that was amazing too!
Another great video…thanks to you both for sharing it!
I just ordered the mug. I can’t wait to receive it. I’m glad you guys have merchandise to sell. I love your videos and look forward to watching them. Thank you for all you guys do to make these videos.
Thank you so much! Your support means a lot to us! ❤
Jim and I loved the Germany trip! Sharing this series with my sister for her family's upcoming trip in May to Germany! I actually became teary eyed at the end of the video. My grandfather was born and raised in Munich and this touched my heart seeing his homeland and essentially my ancestral home. Beautifully done Adam and Katherine!❤❤❤
We're so glad we could share our adventure with you! Thank y'all for watching! ❤
What a lovely episode. The castles looked amazing from the outside. I am sure the one you visited inside was amazing. Always love your historical commentary ! Katheryn your enthusiasm is so infectious ♥️
Like I had remarked in my earlier comment, travel is so much fun when you have a positive attitude. You guys proved it yet again with the luggage storage and you didn’t let it ruin the day. Something to learn absolutely! Looking forward to your journey ahead. Safe travels always.
This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen! 😍 I *love* anything that involves fairytales & castles! 💖 Such a fun video!
It was a magical time! Thank you!
Absolutely gorgeous. Love castles
So Happy to see another one of your videos.
Such a great video!
Beautiful Place. Great area for your Christmas. Well done, Thank you 😊
I'm so glad you visited both castles. Ludwig was quite an interesting ruler.
Yes he was! Both castles were amazing!
I really enjoyed watching the stunning castles and the picturesque city. Plus, the natural scenery was truly amazing. Thanks for the video 😊
You guys are Amazing travel vloggers! 👏❤
You two are the best! Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
I loved your first view of the castle! What a sight! Very beautiful area! Love your videos!
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video! Beautiful photography! Good choice of music. Thanks. Bless you on your way. ❤
Thank you very much!
How gorgeous - am considering adding this to my bucket list. Especially enjoyed the background waltzes.
Oh it's definitely a bucket list item! It's so magical! We're glad you enjoyed it thank you!
I've enjoyed these Germany videos so much. Thank you😊 My family hosted a German (Bremen )exchange student 25 yrs ago. We are still close to this day. She's made several visits back since then and brought 2 of her children to meet us. but none of us have ever gotten to visit her home so this was nice to see💚
Oh that is so cool! That's something we might be interested in doing one day down the line! What an amazing experience for both!
Just placed our first order for mugs and stickers! We love y’all so much. Happy travels and have fun! ❤❤❤
Thank you so much! We appreciate your support! ❤
Great video!! I visited some of the towns on the Rhine this summer but this makes me want to explore more of Germany!
There is so much to see and do! We can't wait to go back one day!
Love this video .. for both the nature scenes and the castles and the history of it ... and the yummy food .. thank you so much for sharing this. Makes me wanna go visit there as well as Austria :)
It was so special to visit there! We spent one day in Austria off camera, but can’t wait to go back and see so much more!
Oh I hope you do and share with us your journey in Austria through video! I don't know how to put it into words but Germany and Austria are the countries I wanted to explore because of my ancestry. My grandparents immigrated to Canada in the early 1900s (1902 I believe) and they were from Austria ... as a little girl, my grandparents would talk about Austria and Germany and the castles. One day when I work on my ancestry through my mom's side, I would love to explore of my heritage there. Physically I can't travel, but your videos make me feel like I am there with you on your journey of exploration.
We certainly will!
That would be awesome! We wish we knew more about our heritages also and could explore those areas with that in mind
Its fun doing the heritage stuff. Question: I couldnt figure it out but does your merch store ship to Canada?
Yes it does!
Appreciate you both taking me to amazing places I will never get to on my own. These look amazing!
Thank you for watching!
Love the views of Falkenstein ruins at 10:46! I was able to visit when I was stationed in Germany 40 years ago! We planning a trip to Europe soon and your videos certainly help us with planning!
How cool! The scenery from Falkenstein was spectacular! We're glad we can help!
Hello Adventurers, and WOW WOW...look at that AMAZING CASTLE!!! OUTSTANDING!! I'm just SPEACHLESS! I'm so thrilled for you you. Enjoy!
It was so magical! 🏰😊
The bread you mention is not…. “pillowy” 😉. Great video, TY 😊
I couldn’t love this video more!!! ❤❤❤❤. Having just been there in October, it’s was wonderful getting to see Neuschwanstein and Fussen again through your eyes. 😁.
The mountain, valley and lake views will live in my dreams forever. So glad y’all enjoyed it just as much. Can’t wait to see where you head to next 😃
It was such a special visit! Thanks for watching!
When my husband was stationed in Germany we were able to take a tour of Neuschwanstein castle. I'm so glad you had the opportunity to go there! I had the same reaction to the water under the bridge viewing it!
It was so magical!
Beautiful videos, you two!
Thx for taking us to Germany! 😄
I was very impressed with how confidently you said all the names of the places!
(I have no idea what they are supposed to sound like but, they sounded great to me!).
hahaha we spent so much time practicing those place names 😂 thank you!
Very interesting and educational
You're both having a blast. Enjoyed the German adventure. 👍😊
We sure did! Loved every minute!
@@AdventuresofAplusK Cool. 👍😊
Crenelation or battlements are the square portion on top of the castle wall. Love your videos! Beautiful!!!
Ah good to know! Thank you and thanks for watching!
The Bridge is always open during the summer and also in the winter if the weather allows. It is closed during rain, storm, snow or icy conditions. You guys were lucky to catch the very few days it actually wasn't snowing in December, cause for the most part, there was a ton of it!
Yes we felt very lucky we caught it when it was open! What a view!
My wife and I went to Neuschwanstein Castle back in the mid ‘70’s. That’s a long time ago, but it was more beautiful inside than we could have ever imagined! The tapestries, paintings, and other works of art were breathtaking. We also took some pictures, because we couldn’t help it. We sort of feel that you missed out. So next time, go inside. You’ll thank us later. 😉
I'm sure it was amazing inside as well. We only had time and budget to visit one and thought Hohenschwangau would be a bit more interesting. We'll check out Neuschwanstein next time! Thanks!
WOW!!
we were there in december on a tour. beautiful area and country. we had snow😊
Have to buy that mug!!! As always thank you for sharing!!!
Healthy and Happy 2024 👍🏼
Thank you so much! We really appreciate your support!
Not sure why, but I ceased getting notifications that you had dropped a new video. Regardless, I resubscribed and hit the bell to get notified. I toured Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau (and Linderhof and Herrrenchiemsee) while in the military in the 1970s. What I recall of Neu. interior was that the woodwork was walnut, and that there was a foyer that had a statue (or maybe just a bust) of Ludwig. I don't recall a lot else, but my overall memory was that it was fine, but less impressive inside than the others. People expecting it to look like Versailles in France will be disappointed.
Yeah that's what we read also. We would have loved to seen the in side of N also, but just dind't have time or want to spend the money. We'd love to see Linderhof and Herrenchiemsee though! One day! I'm glad you're back with us! Thanks and thanks for watching!
Love your videos they are very informative and detailed,, thank you 🙏👌🫶
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Haha, as you were talking about the mug, I was in the middle of purchasing mine!! 😀
Thank you so much! Your support means a lot to us! ❤
@AdventuresofAplusK I was sad because when they came out, my debit card had been compromised, so I couldn't get it then. It's super cute!
I am sorry to hear about the lacking storage possibilities at Bahnhof Füssen. I wrote to the tourism department asking for a quick solution. Cheers from Stuttgart!
Hopefully it will help someone in the future! Cheers!
super thx
Go and see Biltmore in North Carolina. It is amazing!
It does look neat!
Morning y'all😃
Mornin'!
Was a great trip. Snowy conditions would have made it most difficult. We all lucked out. Plus no mosquitoes.!! 👍👍5🏍🙋♂️
Awesome! No snow and no mosquitos equals a good time!
If you ever get a chance to return to Germany. Take a trip down the Mosel river and go visit only castle that has never been touched since it was built in the 13th century. Burg Eltz
We can't wait to come back!
I visited Neuschweinstein a few years ago (as part of a tour) and when we got to Marienbrucke, I thought, no way! I am so scared of heights. But I also thought, I didn’t come all this way not to capture that iconic photo. So I walked slowly out sideways, took the photo, then slowly walked sideways back off. 🤣❤️
haha it is very high up! But you're right, you can't go all that way and not see it! Good for you for facing your fears!
December? Not much Snow?
Yes this was late December/early January. We got lucky with the weather
I am so sorry for your experience with the luggage storage and I apologize for my country! These boxes are always a mess, we already had a lot of "fun" with them, too... 😅 but I am glad to see that you had a great time in the Bavarian Alps!
Yeah that was fun haha I'm glad it worked out though! We had such a wonderful time!
Hey and sorry, but i was amused again about your pronunciation (of Neuschwanstein). It was something like New Dick Stone in German😁. But i like your cinematic Footage very much👍. Have a nice trip.
😂😂 we tried our best. Spent many hours researching and practicing and still had trouble lol German is a tricky language!
Another gorgeous video! Thank you! Question: was the castle tour given in German or English or both? Thank you!
Our tour was in English, but they offer German and French as well if remember correctly!
That was acwonderful video❤ Lol, just have to mention that spinning ball deodorant has been around alooonngg time. Catherine, you are so adorable ❤
Yeah I bet it has. We had just never seen it and when looking for deodorant at the grocery store I was very confused! But we figured it out. That's what's fun about travel! Thank you!
First thing I noticed is the distinctly different music. Good choices.
We had fun with the music on this one! Thank you!
Do you know what the hours are of the bridge (if any)? Like you I don't want to enter the castle but I want to go to the bridge as early as possible to avoid crowds.
I'm not sure if there are any hours for the bridge. There are gates to the bridge, but I think they are just used to close bridge for wintry conditions. We used this website to check on the status of the bridge. www.hohenschwangau.de/en
And yes definitely get there early. We had it to ourselves for a solid 5-10 minutes and maybe 20-30 with just a couple other people. And then the big groups started coming in
Great video! We’re heading to Germany in May and cannot wait. Can I ask you guys if you use an esim when traveling or your intl plan from your cell phone carrier from the states? Thanks for any help you can provide. Also I noticed you watched movies from your Airbnb , did you use a fire stick? How does that work in another country?
We did use an esim by Airalo. We just switched our Verizon plan recently and we now have coverage in almost every country.
In the Airbnb they had a Roku I believe and we logged in to Netflix and watched TH-cam. You are limited on Netflix to what is available for that country, but there was lots to choose from
Hope that helps!
@@AdventuresofAplusK so Verizon has an offer now or you’ve switched completely to airolo?
We went to Vietnam this summer after you guys did and now we are also planning a South Germany trip! We love following your itinerary! Do you think you need a car to get around or was public transportation easy enough? Did you have to go through Munich to get from Fussen to Garmish- Partenkirchen?
As an American living in Munich, it depends on what you're doing, but you absolutely don't need a car in Germany. If you do drive, know that gas is $6-7 gallon, parking can be difficult (especially in Munich) and German driving rules can be very different. Plus, if you want to enjoy the views, take the train or bus. If driving is your thing, then it can be very good here, but otherwise public transit is a whole other world vs. in the US. I'm car-free for 2 years and don't miss it at all.
Füssen and Garmisch are on opposite sides of the same mountains so there is no direct route from one to the other, but you don't go back through Munich. It's about 2 hours between them. Pro tip, check out the Austrian Rail (oebb.at) because the connection through Austria is better than through Germany.
Hi! That's awesome! We're excited for you!
In the major cities public transportation was amazing! The train rides are remarkable on their own! You don't need a car in Munich and you don't need to go back to Munich to get between them (our train + bus to Fussen went through Austria).
We'd recommend a car in Fussen and GaPa though! You don't technically need one if you're going to spend the majority of your time in the towns, but if you want to venture out to the other small towns having a car will be easier than relying on the public transport schedule. In Fussen we stayed a bit out of town because it was over Christmas and there wasn't much available, so with that and a reduced bus schedule, it made it tough to get around. We wish we had a car in Garmisch as well, because we would've loved to visit the neighboring towns and also popped into Austria more. This is all doable with a bus, but it will take so much more time than just driving. We were dealing with holidays and shorter days due to winter, so we had less daylight to deal with busses/trains, though.
@@AdventuresofAplusK Thank you! :)
Hi, I’m planning on doing the same trip, I think I missed it, did you name the Airbnb?
Hello! The link to the airbnb is in the video description 😀
SIMPLY........... BREATH TAKING.
I wonder why Ludwig II had such an interest in Swans (Schwans) that 2 castles (Schloss) were named after the birds.
If I remember from our research correctly, that area had a "Schwan" name for many many years long before
@@AdventuresofAplusK
Schwangau Swan county
In my earlier comment, I should have said King Ludwig, not the prince! :) I tried to correct it but it wouldn't let me.
Do they speak English.
boxes : german perfection lost
😂
we are Germans and love to travel and every year we spend three months in the States. So we watched all the A+K Videos. And now you are in our lovely home country. Enjoy it!!! We love your videos !
