I don't like using the nanny because sometimes they are very useful and other times they just go in my kitchen and start 48728292 meals. So I hire them see how they do and if they are annoying I will lock the doors so they are on the lot but can't mess up my house. Usually do it if my sims have too much money
i recently discovered you can put crystals into the celestial crown that comes with get famous and you get a bunch of boosts and a lot of them recharge most of your needs! i had NEVER seen it before
Something I don't hear people talk about much in TS4 is the multiple outfits system hidden away by the little arrow button above your currently selected outfit category in CAS. You can have up to five outfits per category and it really blew my mind when I first learned about it. Something else about CAS that I didn't know about for a long time is the randomization options, also accessed by a little arrow near the (game lol) die button at the bottom of the CAS menu under the sim iirc. You can choose to only randomize certain things about a sim, such as all the clothes in their current outfit or their makeup.
For anyone who doesn't already know - Ravasheen made a cupcake mod where its a really small like piping bag you set set on the counter and you just click on it and can make cupcakes - SO USEFUL if you want to bake more but don't want that giant monstrosity in your kitchen
I think walk styles used to be randomized back in the start of the game, but they stuck the default on everyone now so most don’t use it. I check out the styles looks whenever a new pack comes out and will use them on occasion. I also miss the children’s play stove from TS2, so kids could gain cooking skill making little cupcakes and it was small. Too many comically large items.
A feature i dont think people use enough is aspiration traits, mainly the free services one. It used to be only single use services were free but its been updated and you can now get a scheduled maid for free! I think its great for big families so i dont have to worry about picking up every little mess
One of the biggest things in my game is unlocking the ones that helps with needs not decreasing Really feels like a good reward after a long game play (Also a LIFESAVER for some challenges)
If you have a nanny come once or twice when the parents are home (just long enough for them to befriend the nanny), you can invite the nanny over as a guest and they'll do the childcare for free while you lounge about or whatever. Very useful for sims who don't like children.
Honestly i LOVE your idea for the cupcake machine being an interactive cooker where you add various ingredients and see what comes out. If you add in what mood the sim is in mattering, it would actually really add gameplay and emulate early iterations of the sims
the moodlet said to entertain sprites by interacting with other sims, not the sprites themselves that's why it wasn't an option, and there is more stuff you can do by getting the sprites to affect other sims in different ways, still underdeveloped though.
I like to use the story mode in cas when i start a new save I make a quick sims to drop in a house, then can start working on making the save how i want before getting to the characters. That first sims becomes a bit of a nice thing to spot then
There are actually more than two dozen non-cupcake recipes for the cupcake maker that came with Get-To-Work & the baking skill. But hardly anybody knows about them because no simmer has ever placed down that machine unironically.
There's actually a mod that allows you to cook the cupcakes through the stove, it is a really nice mod to have. There's also a mod to remove the no oven restriction in the university's, I feel like if your sim is living in one of the houses on campus they should be allowed to have an oven especially because you get negative mood-lets if your sim eats to many "snack foods". Also, this never happened to me but I saw videos that talked about it, apparently in the Sims 3 if you hire a nanny there was a glitch where the nanny would pick up the kid and run out of the house and off the lot.
Real life dorms don't have ovens, just in the common rooms, that's why. It's a fire hazard, esp with many students having the cooking skill of the average Sim. 👀
You and stepho are my unhinged faves of the sim please don't disappear [found steph a few months before she took a different path] --also there's Kevin but like he's not just sims
Totally unrelated but I just realised that I’ve Pavloved myself into being hungry when I watch your videos. I normally eat dinner when I watch + when I clicked on your video I immediately felt super hungry lmao
I love when even the Subtitles have "?" for Plumbella having such a unique way of speaking on top of her accent. It just amuses me so much. lol She said "Fry them up" not "Plate them up" :)
honestly, voice changer is my least used (aside from the WACK walk cycles). i only really listen to the game audio if i'm streaming the game to my friends, otherwise i have music cranked up or a podcast on while i play and i either have the game entirely muted or i literally just don't notice the voices. i think the only time i've adjusted a voice in the last few years was when i updated my selfsim and fixed the voice since i forgot about it the previous time due to aforementioned blasting literally anything but game audio.i appreciate that the voices are all detailed, there are great music cues, and etc but i just tend not to listen to the audio in games i play even if i do enjoy it. when i play minecraft i blast hyperpop, when i play stardew i listen to mbmbam, etc.
there’s now a food item you can make with frogs!!! I believe it’s called Boiling Frog Hot Pot and you need lvl 8 or 9 cooking skill. It gives a pretty sizable, long-lasting energized moodlet!!
They should definitely organize styled look by category. I use them for random townies that walk by looking CRAZY. They should also let you create your own styled looks, that would be awesome. The cupcake machine should be a regular stand mixer (I love Ravasheen's mod) or a hand mixer. I love changing sims voices. I started to use it when I had a full household and they all sounded the same and group conversations drove me nuts! So I used cheats to change their voices and I've been using that feature ever since😅
I actually use walk style on ALL sims that I make or edit 😂 they do be looking funky, but if I have a vampire I’m putting them on that goofy ass walk style for sure. I’ve styled so many in-laws, friends, etc with styled looks, I almost always use the same swatch so I’ve got plenty of sims with the same outfits, I kinda wish we could also randomize those too. I always call the nanny right away since they are born, because I mostly play either very career oriented sims or full on freelancer rags to riches, and they cook you a family sized meal as part of their job too (bless them, lifesavers) so I keep my sims busy buildings skills all the time, so the kids develop very good relationships with their nannies, some come to birthdays and even weddings 😂 and there’s bad nannies, lazy nannies, but there’s also really good ones that parent the children lmao, they encourage them when building skills, help them with homework, the have been a blessing in all my save games 😂
Speaking of nannies, I had this one glitch that happened where I tried to fire a nanny, and they not only came back the next day, but they brought ANOTHER nanny with them and I had to pay BOTH of them. And then they never left. And more and more nannies kept showing up, even though all my children were school age by then. They were bleeding me dry of my money, so I started trying to kill them. Some of them I guess just have super resilient needs? I had one nanny in a closed off pool for 2 IN-GAME WEEKS and her needs weren't even yellow. I ended up adding them all to my household, moving them into their own house (well it was technically a windowless and doorless box on an empty lot), and they FINALLY stopped coming over and bringing MORE nannies.
The only custom walk I've used is the creepy walk on an orca mermaid I created (with cc tail) named Max Inux. She's absolutely unhinged. I love her. She lives in the shipwreck and has a pet raccoon.
I almost never use the whole baking skill. When sims eat desserts they don’t get full like with other foods and it’s a little annoying sometimes to make them eat a meal and then a dessert. Also on the rare occasion I do want dessert for a party or something the cooking skill already has some desserts like cakes and pies and scones I can just use instead.
I had no idea about that secret society but I am SO using it now! Also, have you seen Ravasheen's cupcake maker mod It turns that ghastly machine into a little icing bag or sprinkle bag that fits on a shelf in the kitchen, and now I use it all the time!
I really wish you could save your own styled looks, and browse them like you do other CAS assets. I would get so much mileage out of that feature if I could just save outfits I like. I use MCC to do it, but it's a bit tedious.
I also have a deep fear that I could be indoctrinated into a cult very easily, and yes it’s also because the routine sounds like literal bliss, so thank you for representing us
I don't use the walk styles too often, but every now and then I create a sim with a big enough personality to justify it and I'm always glad of it because I think it's a pretty cool feature. Probably once every 10-20 sims or so.
I use the random clothes button all the time. I’ll pick a color or style or whatever on the filter and then I’ll randomize until I find something I like/that fits the personality of the sim. I just do not care enough about CAS to go to a lot of trouble with that. I also use the styled looks for toddlers and children a lot. Oh, and I unclick the randomize sim stuff for everything but makeup and click that until I find something that doesn’t look bad.
i'm always asking for new styled looks, they make dressing up random sims you regularly interact with so much faster! like when your child sim's friends age up to teens and theyre in the worst outfit you've ever seen in your life
tldr: my kids just didnt go to daycare one time and nearly starved i use nannies as well as daycare depending on if my kids need to build skills or not (can ask the nanny for help) but ive had more problems with daycare than nanny... nearly got my kids taken away bc they just didnt go to daycare and all the adults were at work ive only ever used nannies when the pop up asks if i want to send them to daycare or hire a nanny so maybe thats why ive never had problems
Omg I use the premade outfits for like 50-70% of my sims outfits idk how you live without it. I get so bored in cas trying to make outfits for a whole family for every occasion
I always use the walking animations, I think it adds to the character of the sim with the preppy, energized and the slouched walk. I mainly play in CAS rather in-game so that may be why I use the animations more
I recently contributed knowledge on those special University computers and the experience was... uncomfortable, lol. I don't want to describe the noises my Sim made. It did actually turn out to be quite profitable so that was a plus!
I just realized you could create multiple outfits, like, two years ago (after playing this game since 2014!). So the Styled Outfits option has been a lifesaver. Often I use them as a baseline and change parts out that I don't like.
In the sims 3, if you're playing the parent and leave the kid at home with a nanny, you have to click on the children's needs pannel, so that the needs will then be taken care of, doing this will make the nanny useful. Sort of tricky.
I feel like I wouldn't have used the Nanny feature at all if I never tried playing with a single mother sim. I preferred paying for a nanny while she was at work because I wanted to be able to see him as the day passed. And in fairness, I also got Logan Erving as the nanny, and she seemed to do a decent job just being there for the baby when he needed smthn. What I didn't expect tho was for Logan and the mom to then spend every short moment they could when they saw each other to just.. flirt nonstop. Long story short, the baby boy has two moms now.
"You don't need to put a performance on when you going for a shit. You know that walk to the fridge? I don't need you" she says as she put on a performance from getting coffee (yes I know she meant in the sims)
I downloaded a really interesting slightly creepy vampire from the gallery, she was really pale and dressed all in white. I didn't notice she had the creepy walk and i went "aaaaiiiggh!"
The custom walks annoy me SO much because they're such a good idea but they're way too over the top. So I hire them see how they do and if they are annoying I will lock the doors so they are on the lot but can't mess up my house. Usually do it if my sims have too much money
i recently discovered you can put crystals into the celestial crown that comes with get famous and you get a bunch of boosts and a lot of them recharge most of your needs! i had NEVER seen it before
The first time I used a nanny, he aged the kid up with nobody else in the house, i was outraged
You can choose to only randomize certain things about a sim, such as all the clothes in their current outfit or their makeup.
this might be crazy. but as someone just finding my relationship to autism your content is so relatable and safe. Thank you. 😅😅
me too !!
For anyone who doesn't already know - Ravasheen made a cupcake mod where its a really small like piping bag you set set on the counter and you just click on it and can make cupcakes - SO USEFUL if you want to bake more but don't want that giant monstrosity in your kitchen
Love this! You have not lived until you’ve seen the Flower Bunny outfit with the creepy walk… thank me later 😊
I had an intense therapy appointment today and listening to Jesse sing Shania Twain was EXACTLY what I needed. Love you 💗
Unrelated to the video but i am SO thankful for the kit you collab'd on. That wallpaper is stunning IRL and in-game.
A feature i dont think people use enough is aspiration traits, mainly the free services one. It used to be only single use services were free but its been updated and you can now get a scheduled maid for free! I think its great for big families so i dont have to worry about picking up every little mess
One of the biggest things in my game is unlocking the ones that helps with needs not decreasing
Really feels like a good reward after a long game play
(Also a LIFESAVER for some challenges)
Free Services is one of my most used traits. Free help is basically OP.
If you add in what mood the sim is in mattering, it would actually really add gameplay and emulate early iterations of the sims
losing ur breath making coffee bc you were dancing Shania Twain = same energy as 2020 u having an asthma attack groovin to Nobody’s Perfect 😂
I use the premade styles for 90% of my sims since I like building and gameplay more than create-a-sim. Ironically, I also use the walk styles a lot.
the moodlet said to entertain sprites by interacting with other sims, not the sprites themselves that's why it wasn't an option, and there is more stuff you can do by getting the sprites to affect other sims in different ways, still underdeveloped though.
The cupcake machine does more if you have higher baking you can do more recipes 😁
im pretty sure u can also make frog/fish pies as well😬
yess i remember that
I like to use the story mode in cas when i start a new save
I make a quick sims to drop in a house, then can start working on making the save how i want before getting to the characters. That first sims becomes a bit of a nice thing to spot then
1:20 that “wooo”! Jesse did was so cute! Love her vibe in this video, it’s classic Plumbella! Chaotic energy and all!
There are actually more than two dozen non-cupcake recipes for the cupcake maker that came with Get-To-Work & the baking skill. But hardly anybody knows about them because no simmer has ever placed down that machine unironically.
I’m here for Jessie just ranting about cults and Shania Twain
Fun fact with the cupcake factory, you can size it down once and it's still usable (haven't tried more times than that)
There's actually a mod that allows you to cook the cupcakes through the stove, it is a really nice mod to have.
@@PointsofData Well yeah in real life that makes sense. But this is a game. That's definitely very different from actual real life
8:51 Vixella and Lilsimsie with her rags to riches took that personally
You and stepho are my unhinged faves of the sim please don't disappear [found steph a few months before she took a different path] --also there's Kevin but like he's not just sims
I have literally never used any item from the my first pets stuff.
0:59 you trusted that mug a LIL too much darlinnn
Totally unrelated but I just realised that I’ve Pavloved myself into being hungry when I watch your videos. I normally eat dinner when I watch + when I clicked on your video I immediately felt super hungry lmao
I love when even the Subtitles have "?" for Plumbella having such a unique way of speaking on top of her accent. It just amuses me so much. lol She said "Fry them up" not "Plate them up" :)
9:08 You can cook a frog soup at the stovetop with your collected frogs. Just FYI. Mermaids apparently like eating frog soup.. which I find weird.
honestly, voice changer is my least used (aside from the WACK walk cycles). i only really listen to the game audio if i'm streaming the game to my friends, otherwise i have music cranked up or a podcast on while i play and i either have the game entirely muted or i literally just don't notice the voices. i think the only time i've adjusted a voice in the last few years was when i updated my selfsim and fixed the voice since i forgot about it the previous time due to aforementioned blasting literally anything but game audio.i appreciate that the voices are all detailed, there are great music cues, and etc but i just tend not to listen to the audio in games i play even if i do enjoy it. when i play minecraft i blast hyperpop, when i play stardew i listen to mbmbam, etc.
there’s now a food item you can make with frogs!!!
So I used cheats to change their voices and I've been using that feature ever since😅
Sims 3 I'd call a nanny when I ran a daycare profession 🤣🤣 they actually pulled up when you kept them busy lol
This really tickled me 🤣🤣
honestly i like the styled looks feature but GOD i wish we could upload styled looks to the gallery
The only custom walk I've used is the creepy walk on an orca mermaid I created (with cc tail) named Max Inux. She's absolutely unhinged. I love her. She lives in the shipwreck and has a pet raccoon.
I always randomize my sims' outfits until theyre coherent, so it's kind of like they're picking their clothes
I do that too. Just randomise their top, then pants, then shoes etc until you get a halfway decent outfit 🤣
Also, have you seen Ravasheen's cupcake maker mod It turns that ghastly machine into a little icing bag or sprinkle bag that fits on a shelf in the kitchen, and now I use it all the time!
bro from a distance i legitimately thought your thumbnail had a sims version of snoop dogg in it
The windows-by-room auto window feature is great when you are trying for speed builds. I recently built a house in 1 minute on my channel.
Jesse almost joining a cult is so on brand
Oh, and I unclick the randomize sim stuff for everything but makeup and click that until I find something that doesn’t look bad.
i'm always asking for new styled looks, they make dressing up random sims you regularly interact with so much faster! like when your child sim's friends age up to teens and theyre in the worst outfit you've ever seen in your life
I never play with the Celestial Crown & Sleep pods (GF), the weather machine, bowling and styled rooms.
Shania's best album for the win rn like? I love you.
I feel like Liberty Lee was done wrong with her walking style. I always change it for her in new saves 😂
The anxiety your coffee walk/dance caused me
tldr: my kids just didnt go to daycare one time and nearly starved
i use nannies as well as daycare depending on if my kids need to build skills or not (can ask the nanny for help) but ive had more problems with daycare than nanny... nearly got my kids taken away bc they just didnt go to daycare and all the adults were at work
ive only ever used nannies when the pop up asks if i want to send them to daycare or hire a nanny so maybe thats why ive never had problems
"the outfit is giving inpatient" is exactly what i was thinking but I DIDNT THINK YOU WERE GOING TO SAY IT
Omg I use the premade outfits for like 50-70% of my sims outfits idk how you live without it. I get so bored in cas trying to make outfits for a whole family for every occasion
I had no idea there was even a secret society! I'll have to check that one out!
i wish you could ask a family member to babysit instead of hiring a nanny
I would love if you did a run through of the secret society. I am quite curious about it.
Petey Plays It did a really good tutorial video on that. Helped me out a lot.
I think the only time the cupcake machine is only that useful for running a bakery in get to work but also, making a cute kitchen is fun lol
I always use the walking animations, I think it adds to the character of the sim with the preppy, energized and the slouched walk. I mainly play in CAS rather in-game so that may be why I use the animations more
was NOT expecting to get yoten back to my middle school Shania Twain phase but you know what I'm here for it. lets go girls etc
i always use the voice changers, i make everyone have slightly deeper voices so that they don’t annoy me when i play on triple speed lmao
i like the randomize clothing button in CAS because it helps me use other tops and/or different colors
I recently contributed knowledge on those special University computers and the experience was... uncomfortable, lol. I don't want to describe the noises my Sim made. It did actually turn out to be quite profitable so that was a plus!
I mean.. CAS has that Stories thing I NEVER touch.
I love eco living as an idea but I rarely use the NAPs and NEVER use the fabricator
frog fish banana bread, lovely
3:59 HELP WE HAVE THE EXACT SAME WATERBOTTLE ADSDDHZHAJKSKA
"You don't need to put a performance on when you going for a shit. You know that walk to the fridge? I don't need you" she says as she put on a performance from getting coffee (yes I know she meant in the sims)
I downloaded a really interesting slightly creepy vampire from the gallery, she was really pale and dressed all in white. I didn't notice she had the creepy walk and i went "aaaaiiiggh!"
