DCS moving map - free F10 map replacement for VR. Also works via OpenKneeboard for other modules

Disclaimer: I can't fly the Phantom - this is my 3rd flight. I don't even know how to release the bombs.
Yet, I could navigate perfectly with the ingame browser live map. The player position can also be hidden if you want to navigate manually.
The map shows airport and beacon info on hover. The F10 map always caused issues for me in VR so im glad this works. For other aircraft you need OpenKneeboard to show the live map. Though you can't interact with the map like you can in the F-4 browser.
It will be available on July 4th for everyone, its already available for patrons.
As a DCS VR player, this will be a savior for not only me, but everyone else who uses VR. Opening F10 does not just open an image, it actually renders the entire terrain again which is why so many are having performance issues with F10, and so far ED say they are aware of it, but not likely to be looked at for some time.

I love this, really hope I can use it. I fly with VR and the DCS F10 map has destroyed my performance for many months now.
I have Open Kneeboard, can you explain how to get a live multiplayer map loaded? Is there a way to link to a live mission map with a URL?
its only for patrons currently. you need to wait until 4th of July or join 7 day patron trial

Thanks! I hope its ok 😄Its respecting the missions settings, so they can restrict what gets shown on the map, including player position.
@@dcs-web-editor oh thats great, didn't even know it was possible. original comment was because some servers don't show your position on f10, but if you can restrict that then you're safe
OMG i would love to have this is VR you know how may time i switch between F1 and F10 when i am flying just to make sure i am on the right course!!! i am guessing this is not a thing for DCS VR just yet. I am also guessing that this is only working with the F-4 so far or can it be used on other modules??
It works on any module, in 2D and VR. But you need to install OpenKneebord
If you have a graphics tablet (I got one for £20 off ebay) to use with OpenKneeboard, it might be possible to interact with it. I'm looking forward to trying!!!
Can you bind this to a single eye? Example can I force this to show on my left eye only? Vice both eyes? Looks link a nice quality of life option for VR users.
In theory yes, but you need to ask Heatblur or OpenKneeboard. Its not a feature this map can implement on its own
