Anytime there's an exterior pocket that fits a phone, that adds 10 points to the appeal of the bag. I'm not so sure I like the clasp design. It reminds me of a Hawaiian plumeria flower, which totally doesn't fit the French chic vibe that Fleuron is going for. But I can overlook that for the practicality of a back pocket! I'll put this on my wish list. I just purchased the Totem clutch bag (thanks to you, who put this brand on my radar) and I don't want to get a second bag so soon.

I got the black grained-leather clutch. Very chic. But somehow the piece that folds over isn't symmetrical. One side lays well and the other is stiff. I don't know if the leather will soften over time but I don't want to take the chance that it won't. I think I'm returning it. :( @@Somehowadulting

I'm going to return it. I took pictures but it's hard to see what the issue is from images. Since there was no place for written comments on the return webpage, I wrote a couple sentences to explain and took a picture of the text. I think perhaps that particular piece of leather used for my bag was stiff in exactly the wrong place. Otherwise, the leather quality was excellent. @@Somehowadulting

I bought the mini pacific blue after watching this video many times haha, the size is a bit too small to fit in my essentials but I prefer the proportion of the metal lock to the bag than the medium one :) I think Olive and the Pacific Blue are their signature colours ❤ thanks for the review

I’ve just gotten my hands on the Hortensia in Black and I absolutely love it! Like u said, the leather quality is amazing and in fact I think it’s better than Polène’s - Its so soft and feels so premium. I’ve also been considering APC or AA but didn’t pull the trigger. AA looks straight out like a Celine dupe so I didn’t end up getting it eventually and like you said APC is super structured so i’m not 100% sure

Hi! Yes, not a fan of Teddy Blake's designs or colors. I also hear the quality control is questionable. Mostly the designs I'm not a fan of. I'm glad you love it tho! That's all that matters at the end of the day.

@@Somehowadulting I'm leaning toward Carmel. I did see on the website that they're taking pre-orders for the mini version of the bag--same colorways. I might wait a bit longer to see if I prefer the smaller or larger version.
Lovely bag. So many great designs coming from France and made in Italy (beside the classic Chanel and Dior where they are mostly made in Italy), Fleuron, Léo et Violette, Sézane, Ateliers Auguste... I have noticed that - outside of Teddy Blake - these great designs and great construction quality are rarely lined in leather or suede. It's almost always cotton or fabric. Polene, La Potegna, Espora, Strathberry are the same. It's tough to find an excellent crossbody structured bag!

I don’t own a Guibert so I can’t say. I think it looks nice but the Fleuron one is more unique. Plus this is grained leather which I think it’s more durable than smooth leather. Are you debating between the two?

I would say yes. I sold my APC Grace bag because of this Hortensia bag 🤩 hope that helps. I love the leather from Fleuron!

I just came across this review and this brand this week! I’m really looking at getting the Hortensia! (I can’t decide between that and the swann but leaning towards Hortensia) the problem is I can’t decide between smooth and the pebbled leather. You talked about how malleable the leather is but do you think that’s becasue your bag is pebbled? Do you think the smooth leather would be stiffer?
Hi! The APC and Polene are going to structured bags. The leather on the mini swann and Hortensia are similar if not the same. It will be more malleable. I don't think Fleuron has smooth skin options. Hope that helps!

It seemed small based on the size comparison next to Mini Swann. However it seemed be roomier.
I do like softer leather bag vs. structure bag. Lighter weight, more malleable
