The video failed to mention Australia, Greenbushes lithium mine in W.A. the world's largest hard-rock lithium mine.

At no point is it mentioned how a Tesla Battery is made. At no point does it even mention anything close to answering this question.

Hi I work at a EV battery factory for hyundai and it is quite simple. The battery starts off at the beginning of the line with battery cells that look like pretty much flat out square silver plates with little contacts on each side, those battery cells are then welded by the contact together to make battery modules. Those modules are then put into the main battery pack and connected together with cables wiring harnesses cell monitoring units and battery management units that all monitor and control the battery after the battery is assembled before It can be shipped to the car plant it goes trough various tests such as a leak test for a battery where it’s filled with pressure to make sure water can’t get into the battery and the battery doesn’t have a air leakage anywhere then you have a charge discharge test that checks the power of charging and discharging the EV battery and if it does so properly and then you have the EOL diagnostic test that tests the whole battery all its units temperatures and features after the battery passes all said tests it gets it’s label printed and is ready to be shipped out to the car plants

Title does not align with this video. You don't get to see how the electric battery is made...

Yeah nah. Long charge times reduced vehicle range compared to fuel and in 100k miles drive car to rubbish dump because the cost of new batteries is worth more than the car. If battery technology doesn't improve then your wasting your hard earned money.

Why is changing a battery and buying a new one so expensive?

*Is lithium mining bad for the Environment?*
Though emissions deriving from mining these two elements are lower than those deriving from fossil fuels production, the extraction methods for lithium and [cobalt] can be _very energy_ intensive - leading to air and water pollution, land degradation, and potential for groundwater contamination.

Good. At least they are working on closing the loop to recycle all components back into the system. So long as nothing toxic goes back to the environment as it is now with much of modern living's footprint.

it would be way cooler if the batteries were made to be swapped out for fully charged ones at a battery station instead of recharging the same one . I can only imagine .

New jobs will be available such as EV battery repair man, who will be able to change the retired cells of a vehicle.

Taking care of environment and finding better solution before going on steroid mode of BATTERY use should be the idea. Our government is focusing on Flex Engine vehicles more than only battery powered Innovations. Flex engines is using ethanol which is as easy as making it from sugarcane.

Seems to me Elon has been doing a lot of calculating to say we don't have enough batteries. That it is holding them back from many projects. For he knows how long it takes to make batteries and has projected it years in advance and knows there is already a traffic jam hindering them building more plants and new vehicles. So perhaps there is two sides to the lack of batteries, stopping the thinking that is limited to NOW in time. And how much better those ideas will be years later when other technologies ripen and contribute to our options. Like look at the smart phone and look at Star Trek, and our phones are much more high tech and powerful than their combined tricorders. But that is what you get imagining the future, limited by the unknown. But we did get the smart phone from the break away civilisation of the secret space program... went from bricks to computers over night publicly.

If this self made billionaire made these cars affordable at a price of £12.000 he would take the car market and make most other cars obsolete ?

Tesla batteries are made at great human cost to the miners, and also cause astounding environmental pollution upon disposal. Given the fact that the general manufacturing of the Tesla car creates six times the amount of pollutants of an ordinary gas combustion engine car, plus it now seems that every week uncovers more problems that are being added to the list, the advice being given is to “hang onto your gas combustion engine car” since right now it is the least damaging to the environment. It turns out that electric vehicles are not the answer, and it is to the point where dealerships are sitting on huge lots of unsold EVs wherein they cannot even give these horrific money pits away. People can’t afford the original cost, the average biannual and annual check up is over $1000, replacing the simplest parts is extremely expensive so that the insurance is very high on these cars, and then there is the poor battery performance in cooler weather, lack of working charging stations, and the need to replace all the batteries after 10 years or so to the tune of around $10.000. Toyota, who has had early experience with electric cars, tried to point out all the reasons electric vehicles would fail, but no one listened, and now all the reasons Toyota cited are coming true for the EV world. It is, quite frankly, a disaster.

That is funny because they show you computer pictures one day it's supposed to the batteries but they can share the real true what's going on behind the scenes with the batteries have been disposed on being dumb and then I'd be in taken care of show me the money show me the real picture show me the real company always they going to show you a computer image what computer story and they don't want you to see the truth what's behind the scenes how they doing the batteries I know what they're doing that's for you guys for your knowledge and understand what they're doing with it don't you think it's kind of weird there's so much electric cars in the future is going to be so much batteries be on the level they're not going to be working how are they going to be disposing that so fast as anyone asked a question cuz he has really don't question anything no more oh I forgot you don't care if it's what you want to taste like to shut you up is it reality that's going to do your research with the letters are going show you the real factory and camera not a computer
