i think that the rex/bly body is the best clone body as it stands well, good articulation nice knee joints, overall its better looking too

This body looks good for Clone Wars series clones like the 332nd Trooper, but its proportions and shaping are all wrong for a AOTC trooper.
I mean the figure is great, but I can't get behind the soft elbow and knee pads. I'd be happy if they made the Captain Rex mold the standard. I'm happy the black brow has returned though, not a fan of the animated style helmets. Great vid Nate!
I definitely wouldn’t mind seeing the Rex/Bly mold more often but seems like Hasbro is reluctant to use it for some reason. Thanks for watching! -Nate
I have a theory why they don’t use the rex/bly mold I think is because they both have pauldrons so they can get more range it stupid but hasbro is known to make stupid Decisions but that’s just a theory

Great review. I randomly found one of the Phase 1 Clones and a Super Commando (there were 3 and I left the other 2) while checking a random Walmart a few days ago. Those were the only Black Series they had on the shelf. I very rarely find anything good on the shelf and rely on pre-orders but it is extra satisfying to find figures in the wild. Thanks. Keep up the good work.

Sharp looking figure Nate. It is a shame that Hasbro missed out a couple of paints apps but as you said its very easily fixed. I agree the helmet does look a little too large but not too bad. Looking forward to adding this one soon to the collection when they finally arrive in the UK. As always my friend, cracking review😎

i dont really think the helmet is large, the shoulders just arent broad enough
I like these figures, the kneepads/elbow pads are the only annoyance with me. I got 5 a couple weeks ago through preorders, and I was going to cancel a duplicate order on another site, but I kinda want another 5 so I have a fire team of veterans and a fire team of shinies. Can't wait to see Bly in person... one day... lol. I've had him on preorder on 3 sites since he came up for preorder and no one has gotten him. Getting anything in the wild where I am is pretty much impossible, nothing ever comes here. the local Targets and Walmarts never stock anything.

Nice review Nate, if I find this one I’ll definitely have to fix the mouth with a gundam marker. Otherwise, the clone looks pretty decent. It might just be me, but the helmet looks just looks a tad too big.. but I’m not sure, could just be my eyes haha

I’ve really got two problems with this figure; I see no reason why they couldn’t paint the head under the helmet, and why not include a Phase 2 clone helmet. If it had those two things, it’d be figure of the year.
I think eventually they will but it seems to be there on the new body for that reason. But of course I’d love that as well but that’s not Hasbros MO. Why sell you 1 figure with 2 heads when they can split them up and make more money. It’s sad but unfortunately true. -Nate

IMO the new clone body is really nice but it shares the exact problem with some of the VC clones. The body is just too lanky and small while the head is a little larger than the previous clones making it look disproportionate. The original phase 1 helmet sculpt to me was fine. I feel like it would’ve suited the new mold well.
Fair enough and I’d agree the head on the new clone is just a tad too big. But I think the phase 2 clones look fine so I think it’s just something with the phase 1 helmet. Thanks for watching! -Nate

I just got this figure a few days ago and I absolutely love it. I think my only complaints are the kneepads, and then the head. I love that they took the time to actually mold a head beneath the helmet, but I can't seem to actually get the helmet off, to paint the head. Does anyone know a good way to do that, or are they just fused together?
Hey MetalKitten! The head is simply there for more accurate shaping when it comes to the helmet. It is glued together. I agree though the knee pads are one of the only issues with the new clone trooper mold! Thanks for watching. 👍🏻 -Justin

Glad we're ignoring the nail-biting US election. Anyway, it's kind of unfortunate that the clone head can't tilt back on an updated clone body. My Kamino can easily tilt its head bad, so that confuses me.
Nothing like some toys to keep our minds off things if you ask me! But yeah I kinda think my copy of this clone just has a stiff neck joint. Haven’t tried to heat it up yet though. Thanks as always for watching Joel! -Nate

They really need to release another version by using the phase 2 clone but add the phase one helmet, also my figure came out so goddamn stiff

I do agree the helmet looks kind of big but i feel like that's what it would look like in real life, companies just tend to make them too small

I think they decided to base this one off the EA Battlefront II phase 1 clone; a noticeable example is how the bottom of the chest and backplate don't reach the belt, like they do on Rex whom they based on the episode 3 clone. I would've honestly preferred if they added an extra phase 2 helmet in there and maybe even pushed it by adding a Temuera Morrison head, but that's not something Hasbro would do.
I really hate this body mold. Sure, it looks good, but I feel that functionally, it really fails. I hate how the straps on the elbows and knees get smashed when you bend them, and you have to mess with them to get back into place. The knee pads should also be on the knees, and I overall wish they used the older mold. In my opinion, the older molds looked alot more accurate to the films, but the slim arms on this figure make it look like the clones from The Clone Wars. The Black Series should always use the design from the films, over the shows, depending on the character, since TBS is meant to be realistic versions of all characters universe-wide.
Also, I wouldn't say the old clone body is bad at all. The arms are a little restrictive, depending on which mold, but the articulation is for the most part the same, also depending on the head scult. I also don't think the butterfly joints on this figure add much to the figure either.
Gotta disagree with you on this one. “A little restrictive” is a massive understatement for the elbows. You can’t even get 90 degrees out of them and they are double jointed. That’s a joke if you ask me. Also the butterfly joints help the clone hold the weapons in a more realistic and natural manner. Sure it might not be much but goes a long way in my book with making them look more natural. The old body has a real stiff and robotic presence to it. Almost like a droid in clone armor. I think the old body still looks good though. I like the proportions. But the articulation is a massive improvement over the og. -Nate
i need an opinion, should i get this figure, the new stormtrooper, a snow trooper, lieutenant clone or mando in beskar?
That’s tough Ivan, I’d say Stormtrooper or Mando. With a slight leaning toward the Stormtrooper. That figure is amazing. -Nate

I just watched Battle of Genoise and they do have it
technically the torso is actually only animation accurate, the clones in the prequel trilogy have a different chest plate. rather than going down all the way to the belt on the sides with the "live action" clones, the animated clone armor has that gap right above the belt on the sides

My problem with the new mold is that is too skinny and it don’t look like a guy in armor like the old mold I feel like the old mold was sculpted better also ( this is a problem with the phase 2 clones) the fact that black series takes animated characters and make them look Realistic and they didn’t do it with the clone makes it stand out with the other clones and characters I don’t think people who likes the old mold better is say the articulations better then the new mold I think it’s the sculpt and proportions that turns people away from it
I managed to get his helmet off and it fits on Clone Commander Obi-Wan.
How’d you take it off? I was also planning on doing the same.
@@legoboy1214studios I put it in hot water for a few minutes and did a lot of pulling and prying with pliers. Helmet is ok, but there are marks on the head.
So I got this at GAMESTOP. When I went to check out they told me this figure was free. It was free because I had already bought 5. It was some sort of promotion. And it was on 20% off star wars discount day at GAMESTOP.
