Sometimes happy tears & sometimes because I will never have that chance, to see him live. However, George is in my Heart every day, of every month, of every year. I'm two years older than George so of course he was a huge talent to me as soon as he went Solo. I've had the privilege of seeing George at his last two tours. Take it from me, his voice was Spectacular. Both occasions I took my elder brother & we cried thru every song. He was totally amazing. The 2nd time was after he nearly died of pneumonia, we were told to keep our tickets for next year. After seeing him so thin & out of breath just talking to the press. I thought, no, he won't be rearranging dates, he won't be well enough, but was I wrong, the Symphonic tour & CD was much different, a huge orchestra, he sat for most of it. His voice was as good as ever, he was incredible. To recover from that & finish the tour a year later, not to to let his fans down was forefront of his mind, I was surprised how well he had recovered his voice was out this world then.
@@GriffithsJacqueline My dear friend, your voice was not changed by the laryngectomy, it was "just" needed to breathe! My dear heart, it was a miracle all his life and it is still a miracle that I can watch and listen to it now! I miss you so much too!
My regret is I only seen him once xx I cried from the moment he came on stage❤️ My big Dode as I call him is living for me in all the tattoos I’m getting with his wonderful song lyrics

I can't believe that no one in the comments so far has noticed that George sang the lyrics to this song in the wrong order. Look up the lyrics for this song and you will see what I mean. He says in the first verse" I know you think that you're safe sister" and it should be" I know you think that you're safe Mr"and then in the last verse he then changes it to compensate for his mistake. I wonder how many people in the audience that night who were singing along picked up on it? - a lot of aging performers nowadays have to rely on auto queue to remember their lyrics from songs they recorded 20,30,40 years ago Cliff Richard being a prime example in the UK. Dementia in all its forms comes to all of us eventually hence the need to do much more to find a cure or slow it down significantly.
