I know abruptly killing him off was one of the worst decisions but the way they had a build up, a dance scene, eye contacts, jealousy, epiphany that they actually loved each other, clicked with each other, was perfect. Even the closure. Claire's imagination of him, said their story was cut short, but she'll have an amazing life ahead. That means she has regrets but is ready to move on. She also stopped visiting his grave. she knew she didnt need to do that to feel like neil was important to her, she got a good look at his face before he died. She'll move on, but remember him forever.
Wow all this time to slowly develop their characters and imprint them in our hearts and make them confess feelings JUST to take away Melandez like that for no reason what so ever. Bravo. Slow claps
