Wu Xuewei is a young principal sheng instrumentalist of China National Traditional Orchestra. He’s also a member of the Chinese Musicians Association, a member of the China Nationalities Orchestra Society, a director of Chinese Sheng Association, and the Hong Kong Buddhist Music Cultural ambassador. He’s the winner of the silver medal of the 7th Chinese Golden Bell Award for Music and the gold medal of the 10th Folk Instrumental Music Exhibition and Performance held by the Ministry of Culture. He’s learned from the sheng performers including Zhai Chengxing, Yan Jinsheng, Yang Shoucheng, Zhu Jiaming, and have benefited greatly. Through years of hard work, his performance has reached another level of perfection. His superb sheng skills, together withthe deep understanding of the music and the attractive performance on stage, have formed his unique playing style.
