  • Sat for 2 years, seized clutch, snapped bolts....the joys of a Barn Find!
Welcome to Kenny's latest project! A Suzuki Bandit 650S that has been neglected for the past two years.
Join us as we take a look around the bike, investigate some issues and yes....snap a bolt...
This looks to be the first of many episodes dedicated to making this barn find road worthy once again, and I believe it's Kenny's best effort to get me into bikes! So I apologise for my lack of knowledge before hand!

I had the 2000 Y model naked 600 oil cooled version in the same colour with nice blue Givi fly screen . The later oil cooled & even later water cooled models had to be increased to 650 cc to make up for stricter stupid EURO regs. My model Bandit was tested at 129 mph top speed by MCM .the later 650 cc models were slower . Mine was about 20 years old when I flogged it ,it never broke down once ,had original exhaust system repaired for with two stainless collars at joint for 20 quid . Only suffered the odd puncture that was plugged at roadside . I serviced it fully & only needed to replace normal wear & tear components, If bike stood for a couple of weeks ,it needed a good warm up to get the carbs to settle & clear it’s throat after a couple of miles . The Fazer & the Hornet are reputed to have more top end ,but the Bandit was better looking & had the power where it was needed for everyday real world riding & was surprisingly agile in busy city traffic for its weight . 👍
