    One thing you've helped me with a ton is how to get stacks in by the river. I've been trying to figure out SPR and the appropriate amounts to bet to get a pot sized shove on the the river, and I wouldn't have done that without this vlog! Now I'm finally getting paid for my big hands

    • @fryoungtrad
      @fryoungtrad 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Vloggers tend to put way too much emphasis on SPR. It's a good thing to know the concept of pot odds, but more often than not geometric sizing isn't actually appropriate.

    From a random fan and stranger, I think I speak for us all when I say we love to see the success Sam. It's a learning experience far beyond poker. I think you're realizing you can do anything you put your mind to. Keep going!

      That would be incredibly boring 😂 sign up for a training site, consume all they have to offer, review hands with friends, and then look at your range once you've played a hand, and see if you have enough value:bluffs

    I’m all for playing a mixed strategy and randomizing your actions, however it doesn’t always have to be the only crux for your decisions. Even if in theory an action should be split 50-50, there can be plenty of exploitative reasons why we should swing the pendulum one way or another. Or if you simply are tired of taking the passive (call route) just choose raise, who gives a fk what your watch hand happens to land on in this instance, it doesn’t have to be the end all be all of your decision making process. It’s okay to occasionally deviate if you want to!

    • @BluffaloSam
      @BluffaloSam  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If I did that, I'd be playing a pure 100%cbet strategy everytime I picked up 97s 😂 it helps me

    • @richardsimmonsjuggernautof9781
      @richardsimmonsjuggernautof9781 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BluffaloSam you know I’m not saying that. But there’s more to live poker especially then just randomizing every decision. You sounded disappointed that you once again landed on call one hand, if you think 3 bet is better then just 3 bet, it has absolutely zero bearing on any future decision you make in another hand. That’s where playing exploitatively comes into play. Nobody is saying to always 3 bet, or to stop randomizing in future spots, but sometimes we have to deviate from certain %s the solver gives, or it’s a 50-50 and one seems more prudent given game flow, then just take it, this is just for one hand AND ONE HAND ONLY

    @BluffaloSam, I did my own Vegas-tour last year and was surprised by Resorts World. I found the Poker Room way too brightly lit, the games were bad, and I didn't care for the Casino. I actually thought the Poker Room was temporary but someone informed me that was the actual Poker room! I much preferred Bellagio and Aria due to the ambiance and game play, but also really liked the Wynn, sounds like you did too...

    • @BluffaloSam
      @BluffaloSam  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Bellagio I wasn't a huge fan of, the smoking area was too close to my table, Aria is beautiful, but Wynn is my favourite

    • @richardsimmonsjuggernautof9781
      @richardsimmonsjuggernautof9781 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Lol Bellagio has no ambience. Stuffy, cramped room, beyond overrated, 2-5 is trash there bc of the $500 cap. I’d play RW in a heartbeat over Bellagio.
      Sam, RW can be hit or miss, at least the 2-5, I’ve only played there a few times but the games were generally at least decent

    It’s actually crazy because I also had the biggest win of my life yesterday at 1-3 (~$3k stack by the end)
    AND the exact same hand with the 99s vs AAs happened to me. Flop was K 9 4 (prob different suits) but it was a raised pot preflop and we ended up getting it all in on the flop and I scooped a massive one since it was against the other deep stack at the table.
    Very Deja vu moment for me in this vid!

      When someone’s running hot it’s crazy how deep the stacks get. A couple days ago I saw about $3,500 stack at 1/3. And today I saw someone have nearly $7,000 at 1/2 PLO. Another reg said he’s seen someone have about 15K at that 1/2 plo. It’s a 200-1000 buyin… fucking crazy

    How do you know what percentages you should be randomizing? Ex” 75 percent 3bet 25 fold. Just an example, are u getting the numbers from solvers

    • @BluffaloSam
      @BluffaloSam  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Solver generated hand ranges that I study. I simplify the fk out of them though, and then adjust from there. If an opponent isn't folding to 3bets OOP, I drop all my suited 1 gappers, and 3bet only suited connectors at low frequency for board coverage, also drop suited Aces and move those into call range.

    19:25 personally, I think the overbet makes you too polar. It would be cool to do it like if you just had top pair but I would prefer like $175 or $200. Might look like more value and he could fold. probably not folding QJ tho

    Why was it not your proudest moment cracking aces with king Jack? You played them fairly, did you get lucky? Yes, but if aces won every single time, people would not need to actually learn how to play.

      He sucked out on a 6 outer for the turn and need to suck out for a 5 outer on the river to win the hand vs AA. He is saying it isn’t his proudest moment because if anything else beside a K or J came he would pay the guy off still
