This was a treasure of info for me, and confirmation that ground work is exercise for the horse and trainer! I remember that not too long ago when I started learning ground work, I thought I was going to pass out! LOL!😅

I have a mustang I just got, he is 6 years old and I’m doing the same work as you but much slower since this is my first horse that I get to train from the beginning. He sat with the previous adopter in the pasture doing absolutely nothing. He wouldn’t let anyone touch him accept me. Wasn’t planning on getting a mustang but he choose me. I appreciate these videos, they are going to help me with the next steps. Thank you
Beautiful horse! I've been interested in mustangs for awhile, but I've seen very few that would fit me. (And I'm not a super huge guy.) I'm watching a BLM auction right now and the bid for one of the few stout geldings with decent confirmation and some training has literally run past the price I'd expect to pay for an old style, AQHA bulldog yearling with foundation pedigree. I've read it's best to search BLM corrals in person, particularly with horses from the Wyoming management areas for the type I'm looking for(?) I have no idea if these search hints are worthwhile, but I'd really like to see how far I could take a mustang as my horses approach retirement age. However my mustang interest works out, I'm enjoying following your progress with Silver!
Will the confidence gradually build? I’m working with a mare and she tolerates me doing things- putting a saddle pad on her, putting a saddle on her back (no cinch), rubbing her with a flag... she tolerates it but still won’t relax for any of it. If I walk her with the saddle on her back she gets scared of it. How does the confidence get built?
Your Barista When a horse is scared, you have to keep doing it and just do more of it. Patience and hard work are required to train horses; especially mustangs.

Most Mustangs are more difficult than this one. I have an older set of videos on this channel with a more difficult horse.

I'm curious, so horses eventually seek approval for there work rather than a break from the pressure?
The Greasy Biker. It’s mostly them seeking to be comfortable. So if you set it up so being with you is comfortable, they will eventually seek it out.
