  • After a long delay at one of the railway stations as well as the mix-up with the stations that get me to Worcester, i finally arrived at Worcester Fire Station yesterday, (16th September). Met up with a friend of mine, Ollie. Who is a volunteer for the Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service. Had a good look round, took photos and videos of the vehicles and the demos they had. From two RTCs, to Two Chip Pan Fires and from B.A. (Breathing Apparatus) rescuing Welephant, one of the UKFRS Mascots to B.L.E.V.E, (Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapour Explosion) basically a canister explosion. While at the station, they had a shout to an A.F.A. or Smoke Alarm and took two videos of two of their three rescue pumps attending that call. Worcester Fire Station is a five bay, Wholetime and On-Call station. Home to three rescue pumps, an A.L.P. (Aerial Ladder Platform and a Water Rescue Unit along with their Inflatable Rescue Boats. There's also another A.L.P. from Hereford, which is on loan as their A.L.P. broke down. Welephant also had a rid on the A.L.P. Police force, Ambulance teams, National Highway Traffic Officer and the NetworkRail Response Unit were also there. There were other Ambulances at the side of the station but i didn't get a chance to take photos of them, fearing i miss the demos. By the time i have a chance, the ambulances were gone, except for the Incident Support Unit. It's was a great day and it was over just when the rain came. But we're all still happy, us visitors, the fire crews, staff and the other emergency team. 🧑🏻👍🏻
