    I have this ITB. Peritoneal TB where ascites is present. had to undergo fluid extraction and they took some sample for biopsy coz my initial checkups cannot determine why I am sick and has a continuous bloating tummy. after operation they confirmed it’s ITB, and upon discharge they gave me TB meds for 4-6month with followup ct scans/xrays. we’ll by december if it’s cured or to continue medication

    Thank you. I was recently diagnosed with this and have just started the medicines today. For the longest time I was treated as a Crohn's patient but it turns out I have slow progression ITB. I came here to know more and I did. Thank you.

    • @MinuteMedicine
      @MinuteMedicine  ปีที่แล้ว

      For gastrointestinal tuberculosis (TB):
      - Consume a balanced diet with a variety of foods.
      - Include lean proteins, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
      - Get healthy fats, dairy or alternatives, and stay hydrated.
      - Avoid alcohol, smoking, sugary, and processed foods.
      - Consider small, frequent meals and supplements if needed.
      - Medical treatment with antibiotics is primary; diet supports recovery. Consult a healthcare provider for personalized advice.

    Extrapulmonary Tubercolosis can spread ? or infect ?

    • @MinuteMedicine
      @MinuteMedicine  ปีที่แล้ว

      Extra-pulmonary tuberculosis (TB), which affects organs other than the lungs, can potentially spread to other parts of the body but is less contagious than pulmonary TB. TB primarily spreads through airborne droplets from the lungs. Extra-pulmonary TB usually results from the initial lung infection and involves lower concentrations of TB bacteria. Prompt diagnosis and treatment are essential to prevent progression and transmission.

    My reports are saying maybe I have tb or crohns. So my physicians are also confused

    • @MinuteMedicine
      @MinuteMedicine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Intestinal tuberculosis can be confirmed by tests like chest x rays, sputum tests , blood tests and Tb skin test. Crohns disease diagnosis is based on medical history, physical examination and tissue biopsy as well as endoscopy and colonoscopy.

    The primary TB of tuberculosis cannot spread through droplets right!?

    • @MinuteMedicine
      @MinuteMedicine  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can get TB by breathing in air droplets from a cough or sneeze of an infected person

      Fibrosis is a common complication and is usually defined as the accumulation of scar tissue in the intestinal wall. Scarring of tissue is mostly irreversible.

    Is this contagious ?? I been taking medine for 1 week now and i still working during day at office .Thank you in advance for your response .

    • @MinuteMedicine
      @MinuteMedicine  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      it's different from the more common respiratory tuberculosis, which is contagious through the airborne route when an infected person coughs or sneezes. It primarily spreads through ingesting food or water that contains the bacterium.

      I have the same illness and taking medicines and my doctor said it is not contagious unlike pulmonary TB which is airborne. but for precaution I still wear mask if I go out for checkups. I advised my workplace of my condition and they decided for me to WFH.
