Yeah besides half a dozen test welds this was my first metal fabrication project since I built a gooseneck trailer adapter for the family pickup when I was 16. A lot of the gross welds are the result of me having to fill 1/4" gaps due to bad cuts, measurements, or not tacking everything together first before laying big beads, and/or fix blow-outs due to welding 0.065 to 0.065 with a flux core welder on too hot of settings. I would do a lot of things differently and I cover some of these topics in this video
