It is a real part of Russian History and it is 73 years old....🤍💙❤
I visited Tula in July 2023 and there was an amazing happy vibe in Summer with dancing in the street, P Belousov central park of culture and recreation was mind blowing how amazing with amusement rides, dinosaurs, equestrian park, sporting fields, the best strawberry milkshake and icecream I have ever tasted in the world and so relaxing to walk around and explore. So interesting!!!!! I really liked it!!! When you travel from San Francisco to say Oakland in the East Bay is so scary, homeless all over the place and guns !!! Usually some towns out of big cities are somewhat shady , but I tell you , Tula looks like a fine old rustic town , i really liked it!!!
Gingerbread cooking class would have been fun. There is a lot to like about the towns of Russia. They hold onto and value traditions that are far better than modern day practice. So much of these traditional arts, crafts, practices are now rare in the west. This value of the traditional is a great trait of Russia. Enjoyed your Tula tour - Thanks.
Lisa, I loved seeing the old original part of the city. The historical stuff fascinates me. I am also happy that you showed us the part of the city that didn't look so good, yet judging from the woodwork we could see and the designs of the places, I imagine that a few decades ago, it looked a lot better than it does today. While I love seeing that they're replacing all of the bad structures with new ones, I oftentimes feel that the new structures don't have as much character as stuff made long ago, but that's just my opinion. I loved seeing you make Gingerbread and am curious, what is the liquid you poured into the middle of it? It's not something I see done here in the States, so I'm curious what it was. Anyway, thank you for showing us more of the country. I know you're heading home soon for a while. I look forward to you showing us all of your favorite places to see when you're back home. Take care and keep smiling!
Hahaha. You had me laughing with the most and simple stuff you do. Like making silent facial impressions when you was on the bus ride and you strutting across the street to film yourself. Hahaha. And your videos are so educational is like if I was there. I love them. Don’t change. Lol😊 Blessings to you always.
One of your best videos . I love it. Tula is such a historic city. I would love to visit. Surh hope you keep traveling to small Russian cities. Please keep your videos comming. Watch them all.❤😊🎉
Thank you, Lisa! I learn so much from your videos. I didn't know there was Russian Gingerbread; I'm only familiar with the German one. Keep up the good work and positive attitude! Love from Oregon, USA.
That's got to be the most interesting vlog you have posted because you manage to include so much detail, facts and nostalgia. It is a shame that some of the old houses are not being preserved because they open a window into the distant past and how previous generations lived. The same fate happened to most of the siheyuan courtyard houses in Beijing! It's good to remember our ancestors and also know something about them and where they lived! Glad that you got back to Moscow safely. 👍
If you have seen I have a video where I went to the city of Suzdal, all the old houses are monitored there, but Tula is not under state protection i think 🙏
Tula looks very clean and I like the preservation of old historical buildings and sites.. Thankyou for this video Lisa.. (The food looks delicious) I always thumbs up..
All the Baltic peoples have clean cities (Russians are the Swedish-Finnish people who speak the Slavic language), for example, the Russian city of Kemerovo (in Siberia) th-cam.com/video/84FvalSrlPQ/w-d-xo.html . But. Unlike the neighbors of the Finns, Estonians and Swedes, many other peoples of the non-Baltic group live in Russia (they are not so clean), so it is more difficult for Russians to keep order in this sense (thus, if Russia were a mono-national state, it would be much cleaner).
Great video, Lisa. I really liked seeing the kremlin and the gingerbread class. Also, I since I live in a very large city, I know what you mean about living in a very large city and then trying to compare it to other more regional cities that you visit.
well, it is like London and other towns in UK or something like that! or any capital city.. you can feel the difference on how people look, cars, buildings etc 🎈
Thanks Lisa for the tour of Tula, especially in those really rough and tough areas! No worries! I got your back! As long as you go first, I will follow you closely from behind watching your back, hiding too! I'm joking! You are very brave though! ✌️😆😘❤❤❤❤👍 Good to see the children smiling in that town! They are so innocent at that age! Love the old architecture too!. I cant wait to see more tours Lisa! ❤️❤️❤️
Tula looks really interesting. Maybe one day i will visit! There are many cities around Moscow. It looks like you can have many adventures! Thanks for sharing Lisa! 😊 Speaking of old military things... I think I'd really like to visit Kaliningrad one day.
👍HI Lisa...I just HAD to Laugh when you said 'WOODEN Fridge !'....It sounded so Funny to Me ! I enjoyed this review of Tula and it's History !...It seems very pleasant and entertaining there !...I love the Variety in your vlogs ! One question: Did you enjoy your CAT pie !? Thanks for the tour of Tula and love to Lisa with Love from Australia ✈🦘🇦🇺🌹
Your video quality is so good, huge improvements with each one. Editing, music, content and your sense of humour is hilarious. I enjoy that you give a history lesson on your vlogs, it's the little things that make it interesting. Those old slums were creepy, if that was here there would have been junkies everywhere and you would have gotten robbed and stabbed. Great job hope you reach 40K soon:)
As always a charming travelogue of parts of Russia not well known,I know Tula as an arsenal city, and stopped the Nazis 2nd Pz Army..I KNEW somewhere would be a statue of dear old Lenin..I think you entered Gopnikgrad by mistake there, the lovely "Ulitsa Pushkinskaya"" haha.
Not creepy at all! A peek into the past! When there were local craftsmen decorating homes lovingly and people took time for tea, gingerbread, embroidery and music instead of working to spend their tokens in a franchise mall......What lovely wood carving around the windows! Real log walls on stone foundations (covered up by the next generation with sheet metal?) A pity it cannot be restored. 💗Gorgeous brave men and women keeping the peace for us to enjoy the gift of life. Feel gratitude because they plant the trees for the dining tables of our grandchildren! Smile at them if you feel they need a bit of your pixie dust⭐!
I have seen similar videos about the city of Tula. On the Тимур Сеидов and Анастасия Кожевникова youtube channel. They went to Vladivostok to buy a car. They returned to their city, Mariupol, with the purchased Japanese-made, used, right-hand drive car. It was a commercial for a company, but they made really fun videos about it. Almost as good as your videos.
I love Russia and pity it is not quite so easy to visit anymore. Pryanik is a favourite of mine but it must be original from Tula! It was a great video, thank you
Personally I think honest people smile less. The guys in Tula might not smile much both the have kind hearts,I lived in Tula before I moved back to Africa.I hope to visit soon
Lovely nails and lipstick color. Red is my favorite. The breakfast bar at the hotel had a very generous selection to choose from. Maybe the second shower nozzle is to wash your bottom in case it is a bit messy and less than spotless. 😁 How was your cat pie? I've never had cat before.😸😉 I really liked the piano jazz music at the Tula gingerbread tea party statue, and congratulations on your spicy bread making certificate of achievement. Really like your hair at about 19:00 minute mark on your video. I enjoyed the trip to Tula you took us on. ❤🌷
Even though have conflicts with neighbors but life in Russia is so calming beautiful and interesting..! People are always welcome and happy. Life is so beautiful every where ❤ . Love you from Cambodia 🇰🇭..!! I like to follow you closely everywhere you go even in rural.. forest or abandoned town in this huge territory. Love you and we are friends..!!!
Interesting Tula tour Lisa. Derelict houses right next to signs of modern new development! :o Truly a city of opposites. :/ Breakfast & lunch canteens looked great! I might eat too much & put on weight if there! ;) A bit scary at night though & with all the weapons etc. Maybe that's why nobody is smiling expect for you! :) Looking forward to tour of your home town Vladivostok. Take care & stay safe Lisa 👍👏🙂
This was a great video Lisa! I think it did you good to get away from Moscow for while. You blended upbeat with creepy too (abandoned part of Tula ) in this one.
Thank you for showing us the city of Tula! There were several ads during the video, I hope that TH-cam pays you well. :) I am always interested in the history of Russian towns and cities from the Great Patriotic War. Thank you for including it. The gingerbread looks great! I'm from Alabama, USA.
Greetings from the USA. Yet another great video. Your choices of music are perfect for what you are doing. I have used the Shazam app many times to search the music. Thank you for taking me with you to Tula. You are the best.
Tula is a new city for me. Looked very nice, sure much more quiet and slower pace than Moscow. Good you didn't encounter any creepy people on the creepy streets. Wonder if any of those buildings were damaged and abandoned since WW2. Your hotel and food options were nice. Thanks for sharing. 😊🎉❤
Haha don't let the western TV crews in to film miserable-looking Russians. What a magical video Lisa, the music is so lovely and all the things you show are so beautiful. You are very skilful at making the pryanik, such a work of art and very tasty too ❤
Tula is an amazing city. The Arms Museum has all kinds of stuff. If you're in Russia you need to see this city. I only passed through but I have done extensive reading on it.
interesting video lisa. loved your gingerbread making. i live near the town of grantham , birthplace of our former prime minister margaret thatcher but grantham is also famous for gingerbread , the recipe discovered by accident in the 18th century. tastes great , sure yours does too.
Tula was an interesting city. I would like to taste the gingerbread! I can’t believe it is so cold there in May! As an Orthodox Christian I would not mind a quick glimpse of a couple of the amazing churches you see in the cities you visit! 🙏 …… I hope to make a pilgrimage to Russia some day. I would love to see you visit Yaroslavl 🙂. In general, I come back to your videos to feel your positive and gentle disposition no matter where you go! 🤗
if you seen my vlog from Suzdal, there is the opposite, they preserve all wood houses there... but houses in Tula not protected by the government I suppose
@@lisa_with_love Some cities make such choices. Compare Smolenck and Belgorod. Smolenck took the path of preservation and Belgorod went modern. Big difference.
In every city or town on earth there are some neighborhoods that are run down; this type of housing could be called a haunted street, and so Lovely Lisa you may have experienced a sneaking feeling that someone was watching you. Your courage to walk down these streets is commendable as you showed an obscure side of small town life in Russia.
The tula Kremlin fortress was very beautiful and interesting to see. I always wanted to try samovar, heard it's delicious. Great video 👍 keep up the great work
So much fun!!! I almost bought a old antique pirate style musket from Tula built in the 1700's. It was used in California during the fur trade. Every time I see a triangle 🔺️ and arrow 🏹 it makes me think of Tula.
Keep up the good work , the new and the old in the variety of your chosen space. Your getting very professional and yet down to earth, Excellent. I have a background in Grafic Art and Writing and can appreciate your skills. I watched your earliest blogs, Bravo....🎉
Its very fun and interesting to watch your videos. You have a nice style as well 😊. I love giner cookies so Tula seems like a fairytale for me. How long do you plan to stay in Vladivostok when you go in a few weeks?
You've visited Tula in a very bad weather conditions: cold and windy. Nobody wanted to smile or to be relax :) Tula has always been among the top 10 major cities of the Russian Empire in the 19th and 20th century. Therefore, there are still a lot of old houses of the 19th century. This is a problem of Tula. The owners of these old houses do not want to renovate them. They're just waiting for their house to be demolished. The authorities will pay them money to buy an apartment in a new building. They have been waiting for this for about 40-50 years. This problem is being successfully solving during the last 10 years. Tula has always been an industrial city. It produces weapons and military pieces and a very very large cast iron factory. So Tula has a good museum of weapons, a good historical museum and a new Patriot defense museum. But tourism has never been a strong point in Tula. There were producing also scooters of Tula brand and an accordion factory in Tula in USSR. Tula does not have an unusual landscape or seacost like Vladivostok. Even the Upa River in Tula is a small river. I've known Tula for a long time. Locals do not often use downtown, since Tula consists of 5 remote areas and each area has its own infrastructure. The Tula center is good as a historical one, I think I'll take a last look at the old ones. The center of Tula consists of several streets - Lenin Avenue, Krasnoarmeysky Avenue and Boldina Street The modern districts of Tula are located in the south-west in the area of Leroy Merlin and Globus, there are many new 20-storey buildings in it. There is a piece of city vibe. The new federal military boys Suvorov School. Public transport does not run well in Tula after 8 pm also.
A WWII specific vlog on Tula's importance in driving back the German Army would be really nice to see. I don't know if that type of tour is offered there. I imagine it is. But there is no doubt about Tula's importance and what took place there in December, 1941.
Estate agents’ office cracked me up 😂 Some nice doors on some of the заброшенные дома. Reminds me a bit of Calton, Glasgow, very up-and-coming, but swathes of abandoned housing being redeveloped
Thank you for showing us Tula. I still have a can of Tula bullets. Yes, Russian 7.62 x 39 bullets often are stored like canned food, and opened with a can opener. The houses there are old maybe built during Soviet times, when factories were in full capacities.

The food is amazing, thank you very much so kindly Lisa for your time and best efforts! Best wishes from a humble Australian
Thank you for the history and for showing the hotel.

The tula Kremlin fortress was very beautiful and interesting to see. I always wanted to try samovar, heard it's delicious. Great video 👍 keep up the great work
💖👋💖👋💖👋
So much fun!!! I almost bought a old antique pirate style musket from Tula built in the 1700's. It was used in California during the fur trade. Every time I see a triangle 🔺️ and arrow 🏹 it makes me think of Tula.
Keep up the good work , the new and the old in the variety of your chosen space. Your getting very professional and yet down to earth, Excellent.
I have a background in Grafic Art and Writing and can appreciate your skills.
I watched your earliest blogs, Bravo....🎉
thank you! very good 😍

Its very fun and interesting to watch your videos. You have a nice style as well 😊. I love giner cookies so Tula seems like a fairytale for me. How long do you plan to stay in Vladivostok when you go in a few weeks?
great to see another parts of this big country, everything is very spontaneously done. (OrlandoFlorida).
How much money does TH-cam take from the super stickers? Thank You for your videos.
I think a third or something like that 🤝
Privet!
It would be great if one day you could do a video about Saint Petersburg :)
I like your humour, pretending to be scared when you weren't.
I was scared walking into the abandoned street 😐
Amazing to be in Tula!!!😍
I've purchased and used thousands upon thousands of a particular product made in Tula.Would absolutely love to explore the history there.
Bel video meriti un abbraccio e un regalino ciao bimba 🌹
hello!! thank you 💐
I guess there are only 3 or 4 months out of the year when it is not cold. Tula looks very interesting.
yeah june, july, august lol 😮💨
You've visited Tula in a very bad weather conditions: cold and windy. Nobody wanted to smile or to be relax :)
Tula has always been among the top 10 major cities of the Russian Empire in the 19th and 20th century.
The center of Tula consists of several streets - Lenin Avenue, Krasnoarmeysky Avenue and Boldina Street
The modern districts of Tula are located in the south-west in the area of Leroy Merlin and Globus, there are many new 20-storey buildings in it. There is a piece of city vibe. The new federal military boys Suvorov School.
Public transport does not run well in Tula after 8 pm also.
Grazie.
Thank you for your support 💪🥰🥰
A WWII specific vlog on Tula's importance in driving back the German Army would be really nice to see. I don't know if that type of tour is offered there. I imagine it is. But there is no doubt about Tula's importance and what took place there in December, 1941.
I have been living in Tula since I was born and I like it here😍
Estate agents’ office cracked me up 😂 Some nice doors on some of the заброшенные дома. Reminds me a bit of Calton, Glasgow, very up-and-coming, but swathes of abandoned housing being redeveloped
I look forward to your videos more than my Netflix subscription
Nice video. Next time can you show the ammunition or armament factories? Just curious. My Russian wife is also from Vladivostok. Do you know her?
I would love to visit Tula, and make some gingerbread too.
Thank you for showing us Tula. I still have a can of Tula bullets. Yes, Russian 7.62 x 39 bullets often are stored like canned food, and opened with a can opener. The houses there are old maybe built during Soviet times, when factories were in full capacities.
Wonderful!
