I just discovered this man's amazing music this evening -- a live concert recorded in 2010 at Rasa, Utrecht (NL) was being broadcast on Concertzender (the best Dutch radio station for non-mainstream music). And then, to my dismay, I discovered that he passed away only a few weeks ago, on 10 October 2016. What a fabulous talent; how sad he is no longer with us.
I've always heard that the original Celts were black, after hearing this music I can definitely hear and see the deep connection to ancient Moorish Africa and Moorish/Celtic Europe especially Ireland/Scotland/Wale/England/France.salam to Issa my brother.
Here in St. Louis ,Mo. we have the AFRICAN ARTS FESTIVAL .every summer for three days ,the memorial day weekend , and about ten years ago we got one of your cd's and have been jamin it ever since.Good to hear more of your sounds.
I'm so saddened to announce the death of this wonderful, magical man and tremendous musician and singer.I post this song in loving memory of a truly great artist. I cannot express just how sad I am today.

Joshua Beldo The connection has long been thought to exist, and as you say, it can be heard in the music.

Tom Murray I'm happy to hear that.
You must try to get his albums - all are sublime - the genuine taste of Mali and Africa.
His albums are a real ear opener and even better that I could describe - unless you already have them, get them if you can.
