'We just fell in love with her at first sight'

Meet Catherine and Trish Emmons, moms to Priscilla, 3, who they adopted at nine months. Priscilla-known as Cilla-is a happy, curious, social girl who loves to play the piano, dance and be out and about. But her start to life was grim. She was born dependent on drugs and spent four weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit in pain, on morphine, inconsolable. When she first came home, she screamed so much that she would vomit. Her low muscle tone slowed her development and she has issues with speech, balance and frequent meltdowns. Her parents sometimes feel judged by others.
