Great video Ben! Bloody Hell! Almost the entire Truck came out of the feet! I actually thought UT had cracked Mass Shifting as there was No way almost the entire upper body from the thighs up was turning into a trailer! But no, alas, Mass Shifting has not been cracked, instead they used Witchcraft, regardless of which Dark Art was used, its impressive as Hell. I cancelled my pre-order, because I realised that I was only buying it because it Looked good.
Awh... you chickened out of doing the most important robot comparison! I've got Macron, he's fiddly and time consuming but I enjoy the challenge, then again you didn't like Trouble Maker so I guess we differ there too. Interesting how Desperado (love the name) and Macron transform in completely opposite directions, i.e.: Macron forms the trailer with his legs but Desperado forms the cabs with his legs. Could be why the Desperado truck mode is a lot less accurate than Macron's (surprised you didn't point that out! Playing favourites? LOL), I will be getting this too once finances allow but will display it in bot mode and Macron in truck mode. I think if UT had chosen the more obvious transformation route like AA did (i.e.: MPM Optimus Prime's transformation) and added some spring loaded panels for the chest (or AA did) since they have used that engineering feature often in the past, the could still have pulled off a great bot mode that filled out more than what Macron gave us and a great truck mode.
Although MPM Prime should be slightly taller, this DOTM Megatron actually scales pretty well with him. I thought it looked off too, but then I looked at official heights and scale charts where it says DOTM Optimus is only 28 feet whereas Megatron is 35. Optimus’s head only comes up to Megatron’s chest in the charts.
Even as great as this looks, I've very hesitant to pick it up now with the Newage version in the pipeline and that long, long, long delayed Transform Dream Factory/Exquisite Toys version still somewhere out in the aether.
NewAge truck Megs is delayed? Man I want to see how their version scales up with my other two, hopefully it's gonnabe slightly smaller in bot-mode than this Desperado boi.
hi ben, so far any issues with this release? ie, paint chipped, loosen joint or broken tab etc2? i want to buy but considering the cost, i may never recover from it..but at least if i buy it, hopefully it will good run for my money..
The shoulders are my only issue with this figure. I will also be getting the Newage one and if its better I will sell this one. great review as always.
Far superior to the AAT one even though I have to say the AAT one has the right shade of green and the flickering eye lights is better than the UT one.
According to ShowZ Store's specs, Unique Toys DotM Megs is just under 13" (12.99" to be exact), while the BMB oversized MPM4 Optimus mold is just over 12½" (12.6" to be exact). Given that in 2007, RotF, & DotM, Megs was supposed to be 35' compared to Optimus at only 28', the UT figure is definitely way too small compared to the Black Mamba...as a comparison, the regular sized MPM4 is 9½", with MPM8 2007 Megs at 12.2"...so the UT figure is pretty much meant to scale with regular MPM figures. (To properly scale with that BMB oversized MPM4, this would need to be upsized to around 15½")
Hey Ben, great video! Do you know how to access the battery compartment by any chance? I saw three screws at the back, but unscrewing them doesn’t seem to help. Any ideas?
I gotta agree with most opinions out there. I think it's robot mode looks great, but I don't like the kinda puke green color scheme. I think Alien Attacks color choice looks a lot better. I also don't care for Desperado's vehicle mode. Esp the tank. Kinda looks like a mess. I much prefer Alien Attack's truck mode. Ultimately, I prefer the Alien Attack version over Unique Toys
I think UT truck mode is worse than the AAT one but it's not that bad enough for me to choose him over UT, the robot mode and transformation is just so much better
The tank section is a mess BUT i just didn't get any enjoyment from the AA version at all. The fear of breakage zapped all fun out of it compared to this
@@Benscollectables whenever i transform the aat version, i always have that fear of breaking something since the skeleton is made of pure plastic instead of alloy
That's a big issue with a big bot like this. I still feel a bit silly for getting Cell (Unicron) Yes he has a real transformation, am I going to do it? No.
My god. This transformation is just a chore. Sure it's amazing how they made a mess of a robot movie Megs was into a pretty accurate toy; but there is no fun in this transformation. Movie designs just don't work for a toy, which is why they all pretty much suck.

I never liked the live-action Bayformers movies and the toys that Hasbro made for these...but the 3rd party toy figures are far gorgeous, indeed!

I think a lot of scale issues with any Megatron is that in 2 and 3 he is almost always hunching over and has his knees slightly bent

In order to get an accurate bot mode some of these will have complex transformations... it’s a given. Also why it’s +15 age recommended

@@trailersic Cell has a great tranformation! I do it in chunks. If you don't have it, I strongly recommend the large rings set.
