Hello, what about fuel? What injectors and fuel pump are recommended? Do i need a KB Boost a Pump? I want to make 600 HP but remain on pump gas. I'm not interested in E85 or Race Fuel at the moment. Also, which spark plugs are recommended and at what gap? Thanks!
VMPPerformance I miss your channel jd !!!! I sold my 2009 for a 14 !! The gen 3 would be so sick for any cobra or GT500 ..... my first mod will be a vmp triple pass !!!! Vmp is stout !!!
Martin, we've actually discontinued this particular supercharger to release the Gen3R for the 03/04 Cobra next month. If you'd like some information on the preorder package, shoot us an email at sales@vmpperformance.com and we'll get you set up. Thanks!
Steve Acup the Tork Tech kit is the best solution shouldn't be any complaints there you can bolt one of these supercharger right up to that bam 2v cobra
@@steveacup2280 I'm would LOVE 1 for my T-bird...TorkTech is good but I Hate hood scoops/cowl hoods...need a charger that bolts up...I would spend Good money even if Vmp was to custom build me 1
Great video my 04 Cobra has your Gen 2 blower on it my other 04 Cobra has a Whipple 3.4 definitely switching over to a gen 3 VMP come springtime thanks
I definitely want to put a VMP Gen 3 on my 2004 Mach 1! Just need to find stock 2003-04 Cobra Eaton swap components that are in good condition, and get a forged rotating assembly. Haven't heard of anyone using VMP Gen 3 on a 03-04 Mach 1 yet.
@@modlist6129 I’ve had people comment on my comments before I got the Cobra when I was saying I was looking at getting one and comments like this too lol. I got the cobra sooner than I even thought. I don’t put things out there without the intention of making it happen 😁
I want to see good installation instructions or video on this install. The current one I have with my older gen2 was very poor. I want to see how to easily get that EGR to hook up easily. It was a PIA to install on the Gen 2 as you mention. Hopefully this gen 3 will be a bit easier once I upgrade. any way you can make a new coolant crossover pipe so not to modify the stock one?
I wish whipple took notes from vmp. Releasing the 3.4 and now the current 2.9L whipple for the lightning with the same small cast rear inlet. Id love to see a 2650 for a lightning.
I wish they made an intake manifold for an 99-04 GT .. I am getting a Livernois 5.3 Short block with Trick flow 195 Race heads and the VMP 2.65 3rd gen would be AWESOME.
@@PRONET111589 lol ikr i was like wtf lol. I knew by reading the stuff he said it was a stroker 2v lol...why would he be tryin to put vmps blower for a cobra on a 5.3 ls lol
Wish I had saw this sooner. Tork Tech makes a kit that allows you to bolt any Terminator blower to your 99-04 2V. I had an '04 GT with original VMP 2.3. Made 605rwhp with a used Terminator shortblock mild blower cams.
@@giovannydiaz6660 exactly ppl try to push these to their upper limits on pump gas thats how you lose an engine lol. Always tryin to get around using e85 or having to get a full fuel system in order to run it or whatever...i get the mpg is less but its way cheaper and you can make way more power even safer than you can make 50-100 rwhp less with 93 octane gas. Well take mustang lifestyles old cobra for example he did 600 wheel with a 2.3 vmp on 93 then upgraded to e85 and was doing 700 wheel...id feel alot safer at 700 wheel using e85 than i would pushing 600 on 93 pump gas. I see ppl all the time say well i wanns stay on pump cuz i dont wanna push it too much...but like i just said 600 on pump is more likely to have issues with the engine than 700 on e85 is imo. E85 is just so much more knock resistant and safe. I get it if youre a bolt on car but once you start upgrading blowers and getting big power best to do it right imo and get on the best fuel possible and upgrade your fuel system accordingly.
There is no e85 anywhere within 10 hours of me I’m not travelling half way across the country for e85 sorry I upset you with the fact that e85 isn’t an option for everyone.
@@mustangsquad3029 boostane is your answer ive seen people have good results with it. Entire bottle to a tank of 93 should make it 100ish octane. That is what I am gonna use until I get a fuel system someday lol
Would need Eaton swap parts/components off of a 03-04 Cobra to make it work. I was thinking about doing the same for my 2004 Mach 1 once I get a forged rotating assembly.
@@RB25luv Some Mach 1 owners have attached the shaker to the blower itself with brackets, like the old Mach 1 Kenne Bell kits. Some have attached the shaker hood scoop to the hood. Either way, the shaker hood scoop is not functional and there for aesthetics to maintain factory Mach 1 looks.
Is it worth the money to swap from a vmp 2.3 to the new 2.65? Would it be any cheaper for your kit since i already have some parts from the 2.3 i could use?
I bought a gen 2 for my Cobra years ago (never installed) and ordered it with the wrong elbow. Do you guys still sell the gen 2 elbow, or does the gen 3 elbow work for the gen 2 blower?

I already have the gen 3 but I still need your upgraded intake and air filter. What do you think I will make with the gen 3 with the updates on 11:5.1 ported heads and stage 3 comp cams on e85? Do you think I could make 900rwhp?
Did you finish it? If so what power? I think with head work, cams and full 3 point compression bump you should def be able to get to 900 wheel with a gen 3 blower on e85. Just my .02. Itll be making way more power than a stock 8.5:1 compression motor.
Have you guys ever considered making a kit for 2005-2010 Mustang GTs? I’d love to slap on a VMP blower on once the bottom end is built but as of now, my choices are either Kenne Bell or Whipple.
To be honest I wish they would stop making orange silicone. As a mechanic, 9 times out of 10, if I see orange silicone, it’s going to run like Shit and needs lots of work. doesn’t matter if I see it on a 9.500 deck Windsor with twin 76s or a caterpillar 963b model. God help folks if they learn the correct usage for silicone and then find the picture henkel brand grey silicone. Or the ford grey or Honda bond grey. I have a Gen 2 elbow for the 2.3L GT500 tb that I should be selling.
All of the elbows are the same with the exception that we made the blower side a little bigger a few years ago, which won't cause any problems.

Why cant us guys with the 2.3 vmp get them ported?
You can...but it won't see the numbers the 2650 is capable of its larger and more efficient.
can you run the 2.6 upper with a stock lower?

Not at this time.
How much power did this make on stock engine? 93 octane and also numbers for e85?
Figure around 630-650rwhp on 93 with a stock engine and 750-780rwhp on e85.
That's on a 3.3" pulley right. I'm in Calif. (91 octane) so I'm thinkin 600-610rwhp.
