    I just started using Airfit F30i mask. Standard w/ medium cushion.
    Fits like a glove. No air leaks, no open mouth, no drooling, AHIs less than 3. Excellent!

    I've tried all 3. P10 is by far the best. The dreamwear is not only a bit bulkier, it's also loud specially when you lay on your side, you can hear all the air moving. Also if you keep your room cool, those side get really cold.

      For me the P10 was totally useless - leaked all night, the headgear is diabolical... if you move from back to sides frequently don't expect it to stay up your nose 👍

    I like the out of the way, down the back of the head, side to side movement of the tube on the Dreamwear. My first mask was a nasal cushion with the elephant trunk hose in the front and one night I ended with the entire tube system wrapped around my neck. I got a Dream wear ASAP and have never had the tube try to strangle me since. I did switch to the nasal cushion pillow as the nasal buds I also has on my first mask irritated my nostrils, but they were rather hard unlike the buds on the Dreamwear that you're showing. I find I get an excellent seal with the cushion and have no problem with noise, but I also only need low pressure to get good low event sleep.

    I have used the P10 for several years now and my biggest complaint has been how hard it is to exhale through the mask. Do you ever hear others complain about this?

    • @CPAPmyway
      @CPAPmyway  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We have heard that on almost every mask over the years, but especially on Pillow style masks. If you move to a traditional nasal style you may see a difference in the exhalation feeling. They do cover more of the face though.

    I’ve been using the Phillips Dreamwear for about 3 years and I’ve recently noticed my already thinning hair is starting to thin more under the top portion of the headgear. Ouch ! Other than that the mask is very comfortable and works well for me but because of the hair issue I’m looking into other types of masks.

    • @CPAPmyway
      @CPAPmyway  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeh that silicone can pull on the hair a bit. There are little cloth covers that come with the mask that are designed to go over the cheek parts. Some people use them on top instead to help the hair pulling issue.

  • @musiccitymanpresents

    Great information except, how do you select the correct size nasal pillows them selves, small, medium, or large? Is it the width of the nose, is it the distance from the center of one nostril to the next?

    • @CPAPmyway
      @CPAPmyway  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is the size of the nostril on almost every model. The larger your nostril, the larger the pillow you need. All of the masks discussed in this video can be purchased as a fitpack with all sizes included though.

    I have been using the P10's for years and they have been doing a really good job until now. The last pillows I received do not pop out easily at all for cleaning and replacing, you have to press down hard on the clips that secure it in the mask to remove them. They also feel very different even though they are marked as the same size I normally wear.
    I am also having issue with sealing every single night and this has never happened before. I would get an occasional "red frown" for mask seal on my Resmed machine but now it appears every morning when I awake. Have the nose pillow dimensions changed, have they been miss labeled or has Resmed changed vendors for their air pillows? I have adjusted my head strap in every conceivable way from loose to tight but still get a mask seal alert. Something has changed and I cannot put my finger on it.

      It is a performance based issue. We have an awesome blog on that linked below. I will say that changing them monthly seems to keep the performance of the cushion pretty darn high. So every 1-2 months would be a good bet.

    I currently have the Brevida but while the x-small / small is a really good fit, I often feel that not enough air is coming through. The larger mask that comes with it provides better airflow but is top-heavy and pulls away from my face. Perhaps F&P need to have a version specifically for women with a small/medium option.

      We do have a lot of customers with long hair that have trouble with that. Not sure if that is what you are dealing with. You can pull some or all of the hair above the headgear strap to help. Or move to a mask that has more stable headgear. Like a traditional nasal cpap mask.

Yesterday I got a different model which covers my entire nose and I woke up with a rash around the nose area. It also feels tender. I do not have the P10, only FP Brevida as replacement for the DreamWear Gel, which is the noisiest of the three. The rash and the feeling of nose widening is because the strap is overtighten. If you do not use the additional clips for adjustment, it means that the strap is too small. Try the Brevida or search for a larger strap for your mask.
