I’ve seen videos of these that made me wish I hadn’t bought him. Apparently the light fastness is unlikely. But what bugs me is how similar so many colors are. I’d hesitate to use them outside my sketchbook but they are SO vibrant!!!

Thank you❤ Ofcourse i watched your video. Love the calmness... But I realy don't like these paint. Far to bright, far to 'smooth'...in Dutch we say 'dertien in een dozijn' meaning more of the same.... a friend of mine had them on her window for the lightfastnesstest....they did not great. I think it's a nice student set for people that like to use confinient colours.... (like I do with my A.Gallo, Essee and deepdeeplight 😂😂😂)

Think maybe I've seen some others swatched with pigment info (tho it may have been the Paul Rubens new set 🤔 Meiliang good value for what they are though/beginners

Seems like a great palette for a new watercolorist that NEEDS all the colours. Though I've always believed you are better off with a smaller palette and learn how to mix. :).

I thought the colors of the MeiLiang paints were beautiful. On Amazon it stated that the paper that comes with the MeiLiang 48 color watercolor set is 50% cotton rag. That is a really good quality of paper for everyday practice and doodling. It is a lot better quality than most cellulose papers which tend to dull the paints when they dry, and does not absorb water as well as cotton rag. I find that a lot of times the less expensive glitter and pearlescent paints do not look as good on black paper. For some reason the pearlescent paints look especially bad on black paper, the colors seem to show up much lighter, almost as if they had faded in the sun. Now if you buy expensive Fintec metallic and pearlescent paints, they tend to show up really well on black paper. But for most of the cheaper metallic and pearlescent paints, I think they actually look better on white paper, even if you have to tilt the page to the light to get the shimmery effect.
