yeah unless you have to carry the crate style box that has no handles up a small flight of stairs all by yourself it's not cool at all lol but once it's all setup and running it's an awesome machine especially the 3D games version which is what i got
I own one . I swapped all buttons and joysticks to Hori Hayabusa. It was no easy feat to find the Hori buttons . I also swapped the board to a Pandora Saga 3D with 3300 in 1 vs the Pandora 1100 in 1 . I had to solder pins on the Pandora Saga board for the harness to plug onto. I really like the arcade now that I made these improvements.
I upgraded mine as well, it’s actually a pretty nice bartop for what it is.
The coin operation is a nice touch 👌

I can't believe that Ralph didn't even test Streets of Rage 2 on it at all, I am without words and in disbelief. Lol!
I have a pandoras box 12s,its good. I found and played streets of rage 2. Loved it. After 20 mins the whole thing froze. Had to power off system. No other game did that.
Ironically, the fact this is $300 shows how much of a steal the iircade bartop was during the Kickstarter. Much more powerful hardware, much higher build quality and at the super early bird price actually the same price.

The game selection looks weak, no final fight, alien vs predator besides a few titles everything else looks generic
Ralph I got the Pandora 3D version a year ago and with the mclassic you suggested it is great! Too bad they didn’t swap the boards. The search function is a must for this type of unit! Great review as always

These are very fun and cool when it is your 1st dive into the world of pandora! I dove in with the jamma pandora’s box 1 over a decade ago. Maybe longer. Everyone should dive in though! They are indeed fun

Outside of the emulation issues (and they're not ultra terrible) it's actually a fun unit to play on because the screen is so damn big! I'm sure the iiRcade with the 19" screen feels amazing to play! Are you loving it!
So some cheap Chinese knockoff from china can install a working coin slot into their shabby bartop, but all the expensive western bartops with luxury parts never have them? Why can't all these western minicab makers (Arcade 1up, MVSX etc.) simply add a working coin slot to their ridiculously expensive cabs? The nostalgia factor would be even better if they just added that simple little feature.
I like it to an extent ..and what I mean by that is replace the LCD with a better one HDMI, and throw in a Raspberry Pi4 with a 512GB Virtualman Image on it and see if you can add Sanwa sticks and buttons with adding 2 more for extended game compatibility.It would be nice if the coin mech could be easily used as well with an encoder.

i got one it was marked 9D got it and it was the Pandora Games 3D so the guy messed up because with shipping and tax i got it for less than $299

Got mine for $327 back at least a year ago from eBay. They shipped from Los Angeles warehouse. Love every bit of it. ^_^
Oh, I use the shipping box as cabinet and I use office/game chair. It’s perfect height and the box is very sturdy and thick.
Mine has older board (yellow/orange) and it doesn’t have HDMI and USB ports.
I've had 2 of these for about 3 years they r built like a tank and still going strong I bought mine when they were actually selling on amazon lol

@@randymulder9105 smooth they sent it in a huge box with it sittin on a big tray inside protected and came within a week or so
insanely easy to swap buttons out swap even the arcade board ive done both over the years i use it still alot and have kids who bang on it i take it out for parties still screen and all going strong on both
They use SF art because SFII ushered in the Arcade 2.0 boom in the 90s.
i will say this carrying the China crate style box up a small flight of stairs all by myself was not fun at all but was well worth it once i got it all set up and running
I have a Pandora Box DX and it has the 3rd USB port just like your 9D so it would fit perfect in that machine. It's strange that it got removed.

That new At Games Connect board should fit and that would give you online access plus access to their ecosystem, so it’d kinda be a small form factor Legends Ultimate at that point.
I believe that board outputs at 16:9 aspect ratio so it would likely look bad on a 5:4 aspect ratio screen. I like where your head is at but unfortunately unless it supports 4:3 or 5:4 it would look really bad on this display. Let me know if you know anything different but I think in its current state, it wouldn’t look right.
@@RetroRalph I believe it has a fill screen option to fit it to the ratio. It wouldn’t be a true aspect ratio change but if I’m remembering from the contest videos correctly it’ll fit to screen.

Cool system, but it is tough to come by for this price. Found one that would ship from China, but the shipping is like $200.

Brand new to this, but I'm in the market for something like this. I'm confused though. So do you need to build your own cabinet for these, or can you buy one pre-built and ready to play?
It might be time for me to make a Pandora Box 101 video. It's actually really confusing because you can buy them as Fight Sticks, Bar Top Arcades, The Board only for DIY.... there's endless options. Hey Retro Ralph - noob to creating own arcade cabinets. Can you use usb encoders to add a 3 and 4 player joystick/button setup to the Pandora's boxes - reads like you can only add usb controllers for player 3 and 4 but not sure!? Similarly looking at ipac for this. Any suggestions you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Was there screen tearing after you swapped boards?
The pandora's box DX is much better and the screen tearing is minimal for the most part, it might be there on a few games but it's light years beyond the Pandora's Box 9D.

i got one from ebay same place he got his from but they offer 3d games version now too but be warned if you have to place it upstairs as in you are in an apartment like i am and you are the only one home.....it arrives in a crate style box with no handles it can be a pain to get up a small flight of stairs all by yourself
