- Today I will be ranking the BEST WEAPON ACTIONS in Baldur's Gate 3 on a Tier List! A lot of these come with a drawback over just using a normal weapon attack, which I'll be talking about in this video as some of them will deal less damage than your normal attacks would. There are some, however, that have extreme benefits that you should always be using with things like shield bash and pommel strike. I will be doing a unique weapon action tier list in the future, but there is a lot of base ones that apply to all weapons, so I want to cover those first! There are a ton of unique weapon actions in Baldur's Gate 3 as well.

@@JasonDunna Interesting, I will look into it! I recently found a video teaching how to get it without sacrificing a teammate. I don't recall the dialogue details, I just know you have to steal the sickle before starting it xD incredible how much stuff there is to learn about bg3
@@Bruno-ki9iz Tiger heart barbarian can apply bleed, and with the wolverine aspect they can also maim which reduces movement speed to 0. Do this to someone whos prone and they can't get up and keep losing their turn! Its powerful.
Ill have to look into that trick to get the BOOAL's blessing for free that sounds OP
â@@JasonDunnaYou dont have to sacrifice a squadie. You can steal the dagger during conversation so long as the thief and rest of thr squad stay back and hidden. Then just offer to kill many in his name and no one dies.

Concussive Smash for me is the banger. Deva can use this too, when the enemy is Dazed, they will be vulnerable to Hold Person/Monster, Otto's Irresistible Dance and the always forgotten Tasha's Hideous Laughter. I made a Wizard focused on tanking and disabling (abjuration + heavy armour + as much as spell save DC possible + mental fatigue ring + elixir of battlemage power), with 26 spell save DC, i managed to completely disable Raphael for 4 turns, enough time for my brother's team to kill him (we had no hope at all, because my Shadowheart died due to a bug, and when we went to leave the place to try to revive her, Raphael showed up very angry with us). With high spell save DC, Tasha's Hideous Laughter is as powerful as Otto's Irresistible Dance and only cost a level 1 spell slot.
Yeah concussive smash is very underrated! Planar ally Deva with the concussive smash is unreal too. I love playing a control bard/paladin with the helmet of arcane acuity and band of the mystic scoundrel. Arrow of many targets to get +10 spell save DC and then bonus action command, hold person, confusion or Tashaâs hideous laughter. Incredibly powerful!!!

I'd change rush attack to A personally, I can't count the times it allowed my frontliner to reach a caster or archer on turn 1 forcing them to either eat an apportunity attack or have a weak opening turn that could otehrwise be pretty dangerous.
The only reason it's not S to me is the fact it's not available in the hardest hitting 2 handers you will often want equiped in your really dangerous STR based melee DPS, but trust me, eating an opportunity attack from a 2 wielder DEX DPS using Phalar Aluve in main hand and something like Knife of the Undermountain King OH (a combo you can do in late act 1) will ruin that ranged enemy's day.
Yeah I can agree with that logic! It sucks that it lowers your weapon damage but the mobility is nice. I was using the BG3 wiki as a reference and it says it uses movement speed but it doesnât. So yeah it essentially doubles your movement speed at the cost of weapon damage. I jump or fly around often during combat so itâs one I havenât used as much but positioning for martial classes is super important so yeah A tier

I always thought that pommel strike seemed to work well but now I know the mechanics behind it.
For a bonus action itâs incredible!! Daze as a bonus action and then being able to hit the target with hold person is very effective

Iâm glad it was useful!! Some of them combo into other things very well. Like dazed can make the target have disadvantage on their saving throw against hold person which is awesome
Mmm, on Honour mode i am finding enemies will pick up and reequip their weapons ao long as they arent being super pressed by my front liners. If they have a way to get another action, they for sure will eat the action.
The trick is to pick up their weapon!
Iâve had multiple comments telling me Iâm wrong and that enemies wonât pick up weapons, but Iâve seen it happen myself just not as commonly. Thanks for sharing that!
@@JasonDunna I always do but the strat of disarming at range and just rushing to pick it up ah la Zhalk I have found to work less often. Have had enemies pick up, equip, then run the other way which surprised the hell outta me never seen them do that on a disarm. Now I just stock up on misty step for everyone

cleave just feels like a worse slashing flourish. I don't personally use it a lot, but who knows? It could be an awesome action that i'm overlooking! I use concussive smash ALL the time, though.
Mobile shot is the one that lets you shoot as a bonus action if you've dashed that turn, yes? Well, with a thief, 2 bonus actions, it's actually *really* good, in my opinion. I can cunning action dash, cast a spell/shoot an arrow, then mobile shot. If you run around a lot on the battle field it's good, but if you're not that type of person, then probably not. *(OOF one playthrough I had the perfect sword bard/fighter build that had two handcrossbows, and I never used mobile shot, but uhm in one of my other games I guess I just missed the good handcrossbows? because I only have one! So in that game I simply use mobile shot.)*
Lacerate can be good with tigerheart, right? I never built with that subclass, but that's how it works right?
Yeah cleave is basically just a way for you to spread the +10 damage from Great Weapon Master feat! If you dip the weapon you can also spread the +1d4 damage die and things like the caustic band. Not amazing but you can spread damage riders!
Mobile shot is only available to hand crossbows, which already have a bonus action attack so its basically a nothingburger hahaha.
Any wildheart barbarian can take the aspect of wolverine so bear or tiger works awesome! Bascially it reduces any bleeding target's movement speed to 0. So if they are prone, you make it so they can't get up and waste all their turns hahaha its sweet!
@@JasonDunna so it really is good for wildheart barbarians! Nice nice, good to know. And yeah, cleave is cool, but bards are better LMAO
I donât really agree with the topple use for wizards and sorcerers simply because one would actually have to hit the attack made with strength, which would be very low. And there are better options like shocking grasp and misty step that would be much more consistent and bring more damage.
Yeah that is a true point. However if you have a monk it could be nice to smack them down with it and then attack with advantage
I think disarming STRIKE is too high on the tierlist because it is much worse than the battle master's disarming attack it doesnt even do as much dmg as the superiority die alone and it is trident exclusive which is a terrible weapon type imo with the exception of nyrulna which... doesnt even have disarming strike for some reason...? nyrulna is also pretty much the only good trident(larian pls pls add more unique tridents). Tridents are also straight up worse spears since they have identical dmg and properties except spears work with polearm master.
In a vacuum i do think disarming strike is actually pretty good but in practice the only times you even have that action on your hotbar is if you're using a vanilla +0/+1/+2 trident or you picked the sparky points which again is a pretty decent weapon in a vacuum but that means you didnt pick spellsparkler or joltshooter which are much better choices as there are ways to rapidly gain lightning charges for those unlike sparky points.
That is fair and I agree with your points! Battlemaster fighter is one of 46 subclasses though so itâs nice to have it if you donât run a BM!
BUT Trident of the Waves has it, and that weapon is amazing as it lets your martial classes set up âwetâ for double damage to lightning and cold damage, and it has disarming strike!
I have a throwzerker or eldritch knight dual wielding that and Nyrulna and its pretty fun on a storm team
