    Hi, i want to know the value of primary and secondary side leakage inductance. So, total leakage inductance is Lr = L11*(1-k^2). Then, how much primary side leakage inductance?

    Please, I would like to be answered on the following questions:
    1) I use Maxwell V.16 program. Does the program's version is compatible with which you use?
    2) Have you used Boundary in this tutorial ?
    3) Can the Eddy Current solver find a mutual inductance as well?
    4) The current excitation which you are used, is it DC or AC?

      You need to make sure it’s touching and no part of it is interesecting. To do that you can define a intersection for your excitation to be in parallel with one of the xyz planes and then when you define the region, set the padding for that axes to 0.

    • @dajver3860
      @dajver3860 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, i just found out the solution. Sometimes it's not enough to using terminals defined through coordinates. After defining coordinates of point Maxwell can lose some digits after point. So terminals can only touch surface of the coil by its edge, but not by its surface. So if you going to apply subtract on intersecting bodies and only then merge them - Maxwell will recognize terminals as he should.
      Anyway, I'm sorry to trouble you, and thanks alot for yours lessons. They are really usefull.

      I am running on 24G of RAM, so it might be a bit different situation. it took me 10-15 min to finish. what is the error saying?
      sometimes you get into this problem when by mistake you have two surfaces that were suppose to touch eachother but instead there is a minute distance between them. in that case the simulator starts meshing the minute space between two faces and it will take a heck of a time. make sure that you are defining all the spaces with numerical values or using snaps. when you are using snap make sure that it snaps right on it is place not to another snap points. I can give you the model file if you still have trouble with that. however I think it is a good practice to find the problem yourself.

    • @kamyark8434
      @kamyark8434  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Hi Kamyar, just a quick question regarding the missing part in the video. So to find the mutual inductance, I just need to add another couple of excitation current on the secondary coil (namely current_3 and current_4 if current_1 and current_2 on the primary coil) and find the matrix result between current_1 and current_3 right?

    • @kamyark8434
      @kamyark8434  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, Basically you need 2 excitations (minimum) to have mutual inductance. Note that for similar coils you can always group them or bounded them in post calculation setting and hence remove redundancy.
