O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 Cool old IH truck! I bet it started as a semi truck then was converted to a Toter Truck. Looks like it had a Generator & not an Alternator. The light switch on the floor is a Dimmer Switch & they are so handy & can be used to hook up road lights as well. I’ve done it. The cab is cool…I wasn’t aware that it had been made since the 30s. I think it had very little modifications made to it through the years. They sure were rather roomy inside. The one Pull Switch under the dash might be another brake switch that divides air between the front & rear brakes. Some of the older trucks had them, but not all. So, I assume this old truck still runs? So cool. Thanks for sharing. Blessings my friend! 🥰😎✌️

Those turn signals were factory installed standard equipment. And that's a 2 speed 23,000 pound rear axle. That's a Cummins 743 Cu, In. engine, probable 190 HP, with a generator, not an alternator, and a manual steerin box. The brake lever is for the trailer brakes. Trans is an R46 8 Speed Road Ranger, the extra red button on the stick is for the 2 speed rear axle.

According to my International Trucks book by Fredrick Crismon I believe that truck is 1950. But it is missing it's middle horizontal grill bar and it's eight vertical grill bars.

Thank you for that info! I was wondering about the vertical grill sections missing.

That's an old Toter truck. Probably wasn't one when it was brand new, but it was in it's current configuration when put to pasture. Used for hauling mobile's mostly, probably got retired before it had a chance to do many modulars. That looks like it might be one of the last J series engines, new enough it looked like it had an "1st gen" PT pump on it but there wasn't a real clear shot of it. Cool old truck.

You need to learn more about trucks. It is however a great old truck. Need some TLC.
